I’m looking for some 1/8” Amsteel in red & black-or-gray, but the last time I bought a few spools was pre-COVID. Where do y’all recommend I look? RSBTR? Dutchware? Marine supply?
TIA!
The answer is 42.
Thank you for posting this! With some luck we'll be out of our town home and into a house with a bit of yard by fall, but the new place doesn't have trees (yet). I was planning on just making one...

Looks good! If the galvanized connectors that you already have fit snugly and allow for 4" of...
I'm a BIG (6' 4" x 350 lbs) side sleeper & I switch sides/diagonals a handful of times during the night due to an old back injury. My go-to hammock is my extra-wide (72") Sparrow by Dream Hammock. I...
I gotta quit sneaking on here at work- I snorted out loud when I read that & a colleague asked if I was okay.
Hey, that's me!
Same pics are in THIS thread, post # 19
I've also acquired some copper tubing to replace my grommets; I just haven't got around to installing them yet.
Venting is for underquilts.
Do Yourself In! Bwah ha haaah! I can't believe I never even noticed that this one had it wrong!
If you want it to be rock-solid, then consider using chain link fence top rails. Post...
If you use chain link fence top rails then you should have no problem. Broken-down, my pole sections are 53" long. Back in post #19 of this thread are photos of how I did my connections. Depending...
Loving the cup!

Just received this but I'm stuck at work for 4 more hours. Sure hope no porch pirates beat me to it!
Ordered mine (I mean, "my wife's") in Woody Green on 08/29/2018.
Received tracking number today!

Ordered on 08/29/2018, in "Woody Green".
Got my tracking # today!

Same here. I finally sewed some thin grosgrain on each side just above the first snap so I can just tie it shut.
It works very well with my extra-wide (72”) Dream Hammock Sparrow.
6'4" x 330'ish lbs, right now I'm using either 1" webbing w/ 12kn wiregate carabiners (for trees), or 1/8" Amsteel continuous loops with the same 'biners (for my DIY tensa stand).
I've toyed...
Back in Post # 18 of this thread Alex said they're dialing-in specs on Zeros & they'll make them available, "...in a couple of weeks." If you need one ASAP then you should probably give him a call...
A few weeks ago I was trying to find time to make a CDT Gemini "winter" underquilt w/ clews before our Scout troop's "Klondike Derby" campout, and I thought I was going to have to pull an all-nighter...
I see a springtime garage project in my future.
(Must*resist*urge*to*post*That's*what*she*said)
Yeah, after conducting lots of "research" on every "how to transfer down" thread that I could find I thought I had it all figured out. Everything was going well UNTIL I accidently had the shop vac...
I posted this in the Donating Members Roundtable section, but though everyone might like to see it:

Looks great! We're currently in a town home with shared "green space", so I'm limited to portable stands until we get back into a standalone home with a private yard. Taking notes for later- thank...
Looks great!
Looks great! I'm an assistant Scoutmaster in Davis County (UT), so I usually get at least an overnighter with the boys every month. I'm recovering from a couple of surgeries right now, however, so...
+1 for SensorPush
Welcome! This is the place for advice & opinions on all things hammocking.
For the money, I've been very happy with my Chill Gorilla Fortress tarp purchased on Amazon. Shown here on a DIY tensahedron stand w/ Dutchware pole mod kit.

For the money, I've been very happy with my Chill Gorilla snakeskins from AmazonSmile. One swallows my Sparrow w/ underquilt, top cover, & bug net. Another keeps my Fortress tarp ready to deploy.
I second this: Dutch hookworms on the guy lines, which are permanently attached to my stakes, hook to the shock cord loop that's larks-headed to the tarp tie outs. Super fast, easy, & adjustable. ...
I've noticed this in my DIY tensa stands; I seem to almost automatically sink into the correct lay.
Email Randy (aka "Papa Smurf") at DreamHammock.com & he'll give you recommendations. I'm 6'4" x 320 lbs & I'm loving my 11' x extra-wide (72") Sparrow. Randy & Deanna offered fantastic customer...
Guilty!
I'm in the same boat (assistant scoutmaster). Love my DIY tensa stand.
I'm 6'4" x 320 lbs, a side sleeper, & I switch sides 2-3 times at night due to old back problems. I tried an Amazon 3-panel hammock (similar to ENO), but the seams created pressure points at my neck...
My first build didn't include a stand ridgeline, but I've since added one to build #1 & included one in build #2. In addition to making it easier to replicate a "dialed-in" hang, it also makes setup...
Great work, Rat!
One thing I’ve come to realize through my DIY efforts is that the commercially available Tensa4 stand from www.tensaoutdoor.com is a bargain at $300! They’ve made many improvements over the past few...
Thanks, jeff-oh! It's always a work-in-progress, each time I hang from the stand I think of more ways to tweak it.
