Shoot me a PM with price(s) please.
Talk to me about what made it feel too wide. My wife is 5’6”. I’m 5’11” and have a standard width hammock. Never tried one of the wide hammocks.
Sent you a PM.
Not overly picky. Preference is 1.6 Hex, but flexible.
Hopefully the forecast changes. Not looking like weather conducive to having fun with my 6 & 9 year olds along.
I have a set of brand new, never used HG FL Econ 20* TQ & UQs if you’re flexible on the length of the UQ.
Bringing my two children Friday - Sunday. Looking forward to it.
Beautiful area. Helped a couple buddies run the 100 mile trail race they hold there a few years ago.
I think I had 12 nights over the last 15 days. Just made plans to take my daughter out next weekend for her first hammock trip.
Is there a single electronic device on that complexity level made in the US these days? I bet the number of vehicles made entirely in the US from US-made parts is pretty slim.
Checked their height - 53.5” and 47”. Assuming I can’t get CDTs anywhere to make something, looking at comparing buying something to RBTR kits, might save less than $150 which isn’t really worth it...
Haven’t seen down throws at Costco since I bought a hammock in January. Not in my local store or online.
Not sure yet. I don't see backpacking miles and miles to camp with kids being a regular thing in the near future. I haven't ever looked into backpacks to fit them and what volume they could hold. Car...
All of our camping hammocks have bug nets to keep them and their stuff in. My daughter is about to be nine and will be seven over the summer. They can handle covering up with a blanket/quilt/sleeping...
Anyone have suggestions on what they did for their younger/shorter campers?
Sure, you can do the same thing with a Hennessy. I have two. They didn't come with stakes, but we're talking a couple bucks there and they have setups for less than $200 to over $300. Guess what's on...
I felt like the amount of guy line material included with the Hennessy tarps was way too much. Just picked up Dutch's tarp flyz with 6' of Lash-It and some shock cord. Should be plenty. I camped over...
You're telling me you're going to get a hammock, bug net, suspension, tarp, guy lines, and stakes for $100 less than the Dutchware Chameleon setup, made in the US? Doubtful.
I have two kiddos who seem to be getting the bug to hammock camp. I took my son with me over the weekend and getting him to stay on a rectangular CCF pad was about impossible. All that matters is he...
Do you have a picture of this setup?
I stopped by the other day and chatted for a few minutes. He handed me a sample like a dealer, “you like these, you know where to get more.” Out there creating addicts under the guise of getting...
I looked at the spider daisy chain webbing to use with the Mantis and spliced CL, but at $2/ft, that’s $48 in just straps for two lengths of 12’ and I can’t use it with the spreader bar to camp with...
If there’s a bunch of weight in the hammock, I’ve found they can be a bit tight, but maybe it’s just me. Taking some tension off the hardware helps if the hammock is loaded.
I considered...
You’re in trouble. You found Dutch, and he found you. What else did you order?
I went with 30* TQ and 20* UQ. I can add clothing or other means to stay warm, but we SEPA gets plenty of time throughout the winter where temps are in the 20s-30s. I didn’t want the bulk or weight...
We had a really good time. Some lessons learned, but nothing painful or the hard way. Definitely should have brought something to sit on. Only brought one pad and didn’t want it to be a mess from the...
Well, I’m going to have to get used to it and better at setting up in the dark as that’s how I expect every set up to go for about two straight weeks coming up. I toss and turn sleeping on the ground...
Much better set up this afternoon. Tied knots to shorten the primary suspension and tightend the secondary. Have Dutch’s spreader bar and brought my six year old along. We ate around 5 for the first...
I was there with Alex and Carolyn on Wednesday. Didn’t get in the hammock with the UQ for adjustments, but we talked about it. I’ll be tinkering with it today.
Only thing I’ve tried so far. 12’ straps with sewn-on Dutch clips. No lost hardware, already set up for a spreader bar to camp with the kiddos, extensive adjustments, and fast to set up.
Got March out of the way on the 1st. Started a thread to get some feedback for adjustments I need to make and rather than post all of it twice, here's a link to the thread....
After a few trial runs on a DIY stand in the garage, I got out last night for the first overnight hang in the woods. I had planned on taking my son, but the weather forecast was ugly and I felt like...
I normally have those in the camper, but didn't think of bringing them this time. Thanks.
Change of plans based on the weather. Not worried about the temps, but the precipitation is expected to be up to 100% chance for most of the night with it starting as early as 7pm. Yes, it will be...
There’s also the balance between cinching it down to eliminate drafts but tightening too much likely causes the material to bunch up creating openings.
I
It’s not rocket science. I built a stand and have slept in the hammock. Both kids have been in them and fallen asleep for a nap. I don’t get the pessimism or assumption that it takes a PhD to...

My 8 yo daughter would be going if she didn’t have stuff going on Friday and a birthday party Saturday morning. We shoot barebow archery together and it’s been fun to watch her grow and mature,...
How do you think I ended up in this predicament? I wish I wouldn’t have figured out he’s less than 10 minutes from work and about 15 from home. I need to go in today to pick up suspension items and a...
Yep, we’re good. I’ve slept on the ground/outside/on a cot to know he/we both need insulation. Camping isn’t new, just the hammock part is, but insulation needs are similar to sleeping on a cot with...
My six year old son and I are going to do a local overnight hang together. He’s pumped. Need to pick up a Beetle buckle set and a spreader bar from Dutch. We’re camping at an established site where...
Perfect. Thanks!
Short of hauling my stuff to Dutch’s warehouse, I don’t know any experienced hangers. Sounds like the one of those really interesting CraigsList ads is about to come together.
Yep, wanted to confirm that adding knots, retrying, something like that was the ticket to get there. Watched your video before the quilts arrived and it was the only reason I had an idea of what...
Probably a simple/easy question, but new to hammocks. Ordered quilts from two vendors to make sure I got a set in time for a trip. Both primary suspensions have excess shock cord that isn’t stretched...
Added my name to the list. Some of the data is surprising. Didnt expect California to be so far behind on numbers of members.
Who knew Pine Grove, Pa and Pine Grove Furnace State Park were 75 minutes apart?
I’ll check out the historical info too. Is this car camping? My kids will be nine and six and we don’t gave bacjpacking setups for them.
Welcome as well. I picked up a Chameleon hammock from Dutch yesterday. Highly recommend them. You probably couldn’t live much closer. Good people there who are awesome resources and helpful.
Did you get the 30-60 mph winds we had in SE PA last night?
