Nice... Curious how did your trip go? Or still not there yet? I just finished hammock hanging four full nights at Mt. Loop Highway by Darrington, and what a blast it was!
I'm up for a hang in Seattle (if I don't end up tripping to California, haha). I'm in Lynnwood, so close by, so what day do you expect to end up in Seattle?
I mentioned this in another thread,
Recently, I found a way of handling suspension that works great and costs less. Some people like the rings because it looks fashionable, but I make big hammocks...
Second that.
Thanks,
I made it..and it works great!
I actually used 15' of fabric this time, hehe. I found that folding about 8-10" of fabric on the ends, then folding again before sewing the loops takes...
Okay..here's a pic!

Thanks for all your suggestions. These rings definitely can't hold a VW, lol.
Will post pics soon!
I made a cat-cut top cover to keep warm. I call it a frogger cover, lol, because it actually looks like a flattened turtle. It's shape is similiar to the winter dream tarp,...
Yep must have been an imitation..don't order from this web site!

I bought sixteen descender rings (supposedly SMC) at ~$4 each; they all became deformed after several hangs.. What a dissapointment!
Why not make a rope loop at each end of your hammock just large...
Thanks,
I'm gathering the ends with a continuous loop. I would like a permanent mod.. I'm actually trying to pull the left- and right-middle, too. I'm planning on hemming in a couple hours.
I guess I'm trying it out later today.
I was thinking about running a few threads in two spots through the middle of the sewn end (before sewing), about shoulder-width apart from each other, then increasing the width of the hem on the...
I tie two slippery half hitches, just to be extra extra sure it doesn't slip! :D
I like to take a 50-52" piece of Spectra for the whipping, Larks head to attach it to the descender rings then make...
Lots of noob questions to cover lots of stuff. I just wanted to see a conglomerate of information on fabric, because there's too many threads, lol. Or just say what you want, thanks.
How do you...
