Very exciting, what price point are you expecting?

If I remember correctly the strand count is based on the diameter, anything under 1/8 is 8 strand, 1/8 and over is 12. This is based off of the Sampson standards when I was researching winch lines...
If I saw this a month ago I probably would have made one but unfortunately no longer have a need.

That's great!

How short of a bury could you expect to be able to use with 1/8 amsteel inside 7/64? Also since you are doing a locked brummel you could get away with no bury if you wanted, correct? In that case why...
You could always make a double layer tarp out of what you have if there is enough and it's not good enough by itself. Don't know if anyone's done it, but it would be interesting.

I was in the middle of a dense forest and still had gusts of probably 25 mph. In the middle of the night I heard this loud pop like a gunshot and the side of my tarp blocking the wind slammed into...
I slept all summer in Cashiers NC with just my diy 7.5oz Clima shield TQ just fine. I had no bottom insulation and I normally sleep cold

Another good idea would be to read 'how to win friends and influence people' before trying to get the policy changed. Some of the points have been brought up, but it is a very good resource, not to...
It is not a fish privilage to walk on the grass. And for goodness sake don't ever do it outside the Memorial Student Center. So yes there is a policy regarding grass.

What I could see cottage vendors doing is if they ever have a slow time without very many orders they could make some of the more popular items to ship immediately. That way they can have a small...
Or maybe they could set up two brands, like what Lincoln and Miller have done with their equipment, creating longevity and Hobart as entry level options. That way it is not affecting their brand...
In terms of the trainee part, maybe offer different levels, like what is made by the trainee cost less than the artist. This would allow the trainee to gain experience, and also give an option the...
Just to be clear I am not the one buying, I'm just the one with hammock experience and got assigned the task of find a hammock as a gift. I already have everything I need

I know very little about the commercial side of hammocks as all I do is diy. However I have been charged with finding a "tent" hammock for my cousins birthday. I'm guessing this just means hammock...
Welcome to the wonderful world of hammocks! You now have two hobbies to take all of your money, Jeeps and hammocks! I also noticed you have metal cloak fenders and am jealous.

Anyone know a good place in/near Bryan/College Station I could go hang for the weekend? I have an open weekend this week and would like to get out of the dorms without being too far away.
Thanks

Forgo the d-rings and save a bit of weight, unless you have a need for the rings.

All really good ideas. Imagine a bug net from the dragon scales, or starry night - then when its storming you could still see the stars.

Also the way it seems to be holding the folds, in my experience, is pretty unique. It looks like you have silnylon. It will also be very slippery.

As I said before, I hate you guys! Always coming with these new things I need.[emoji6]

+1 I haven't had my quad lines tangled in years.

Have you looked at Dutch's quilt clips?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
Mine improved drastically. The biggest improvements, for me, came from Dutch and experience. The more you use your set up the faster you become.

You aren't. I started laying on an angle before I really got into hammock camping. I guess I was ment for a hammock.[emoji6]

Another, You might be a hammock camper if when you see "Shug" instead of "shrug"

You might be a hammock camper if you have guitar strong but don't know how to play.
You might be a hammock camper if your sisters thread injector spends more time in your room than hers.

I'm not too familiar with catamarans but the biggest consideration would be space to hang. A Mayan, or similar, might also be something to consider as well.

I hang my pack from a tree but some people do use a gear hammock, which IS a hammock for your backpack.

I noticed they claimed to use ROBIC XL fabric so Kyle could probably tell us wether or not that is the case.

From what I understand is that the ripstop is only beneficial is you get a small hole, such as a stick poking though. The ripstop will keep the hole from getting bigger. It looks like in your case...
I'm not sure if there would be a big enough savings to really justify a group buy. I will try and do some more research, maybe try contacting Sampson directly and seeing what I can come up with.

What about for webbing?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
What is the best place to buy bulk amsteel and webbing? The cottage vendors are great for small quantities but I'm lokking at getting a couple hundred feet and was wondering if there is something...
If it happens to fall though, I will take it and make a couple hammocks for you.

I have since done a bit of looking and the biggest seller seems to be viking labels. Not sure if they are the best though.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
I vote blue [emoji3] But you are right, there are worse problems. Like not having anything to make[emoji6]
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
Where do you get the labels you use?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
I have tied off to mine and my friends rollcage before and it was fine. Don't know how the roof rack is attached though.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
What is that? Is it like zing-it/lash-it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
I was wondering the same thing. Since I don't have access to a front loading machine, by hand it is. Thanks!

I don't have a picture of what we did right now but tent rainflys can be usefull.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
You are correct, in a normal sleeping bag though, the insulation would be crushed.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
Your getting fancy with it. I was thinking cheap 4x4s for the frame and pressure treated for the legs, with maybe a boiled linseed finish.
