I read somewhere where a guy added a length of tubing on each side to lengthen the stand 12-14-16" something like that & said it worked good. Going to have to look it up again as I have a RR & stand...

Dude, that comment was about as UN-professional as you can get as a so called moderator. Had no idea as to who was referenced until you showed us. Remember you have that same one button for yourself.
A couple of us took motorcycle trips to Golconda Ill to visit a friend who owned Deer Run campground. Another friend from east of St Louis would join us. He took us to the garden. We hiked a mile...
That's opening weekend of rifle deer season in TN.
Give it time. It will clear up. All new will have a particular smell until it has time to air out'
I used the small plastic. Had one break. Changed to the metal ones & haven't had any trouble with them.
As others have said, I pull mine up then slide off the line. I either bag them then (most time) or lay them by the tree @ the head of my hammock to be collected & bagged all @ once.
@ almost 69 I have rode motorbikes since 12. Off & on road. Last 20 year strictly street. A lot of long distance travel. Been using hammocks for almost 20 year now. Love hammock travel.
Welcome...
I can see a CF tarp for a serious hiker but, not for a weekend warrior unless plenty funds. For me it would be wasted money. I haul my gear on motorcycles. I spend about 25-30 night's a year in my...
I use the least bling I can use. While out I'm there to enjoy myself & any few seconds gained with bling to buy, keep up with, tote & transport I can do without. I use a couple small 9s & tiny...
Correction: Aerrohead rated 25°
I have both. I motorcycle camp. Both are 20°. The Warbonnet is warmer than the Arrowhead. Fit is great on both. I use the Arrowhead down to about 40. From 40 to30 the Warbonnet. Below 30 I stack them.
I have a great tarp (Super Shelter) & several cheaper tarps including 4 HH plus a few cheap tarps. My favorite cheap tarp is a PaHaQue double. It's not heavy. It's large & packs easy & does a great...
I don't hike but motorcycle travel. In mid 20° weather I double my UQ s. Sleep in long John's, wool socks, my clothes & a down jacket with gloves & a boggin. I use a 0° rectangular down bag. If I get...
Henry Horton TN state park has hammock camp ground. Also David Crocket State Park has hammock post in their primitive camp sites. Both are walk in only which I can't use as I motorcycle camp & use my...
PaHaQue has one real similar. Out of curosity I bought one. Not usable as delivered. Built different suspenion to try & stabilize it. Still no good. Fell out of it once. It was worth the price to...
I know your looking for a comparison. I don't have a Brandon. I was forced to a RR from losing my bladder to cancer. It works for me for my drainage bag @ night. It's super comfortable. The shoulder...
Will do cougarmeat. Had the thing a couple months & even retired haven't had time to do it. The few times I've set it up I know I'll need to build a longer ridge line. Got plenty amsteel. Was going...
I travel, camp & cook a lot on motorcycle trips. Bought a Tends4. It adds about 12 lb to your load. I haven't took mine on the road yet but still practicing to dial it in. I have a Ridge Runner...
Dictated by budget. I also gave a pad a very quick try. For most folks the pad is the Starting point. If budget is not there @ this particular time, get a pad so you can start hanging as their much...
Way to vague for an answer plus, way to many factors that contribute to YOUR comfort.
Bottom insulation
I have a 13' Super fly & went to Acadamy Sports & bought 2 pole kits for $7 something each. They worked great. Their fiberglass but I motorcycle camp & don't tote them. Their Calsomething brand.
I'm like Biker Bob. Hot weather I use the SnugPak TQ. Legs owed out of it & when I get cool they go back in the foot box.
Intoxicated or stoned.
I like my snugpak TQ. Bear in mind I motorcycle camp so weight not a tremendous issue (space & weight is still @ a premium). Best bag for the buck I have found for summer hanging.
There's never anything to learn unless you try. That's depending if you don't know it all already. :-)
I have both UQP & Larger tarp with doors (S fly). If one gets left home it's the UQP.
Read the ultimate hang, watch Snug videos & search the forum. Get out there & try many different things as nirvana is a fluid target. I personally like numerous setups as relating to location that...
I do not like whoopies. I've made several sets, probably 8-10 sets but always had some problem with tree spacing, size etc. Found my personal nevona in straps & buckles. Least trouble & simple of...
Welcome from south central TN.
My first was a Hennessy Explorer Delux Zip. Dumped the suspension first thing for whoopies. Good for a couple year & started buying others. Still love the HH & was comfy but, wanted options. Double...
Been hanging for around 15 year. Usually I never get a good night's rest the first night. It takes me 2-3 night's to get immaculate to the hammock. Noisy areas I use ear plugs. I'm not a hiker but a...
I'm positive Dutch makes a plethora of fine products. I have purchased a few things from him over a few years. His shipping is fast but, I do not own nary piece of bling. I do not want to keep up...
While battling bladder cancer I had to go about every 15-45 minutes. Bought a red travel p bottle that worked great laying on my side. Lost the bladder to the cancer & now have a stoma & urostmy bag....
The HHH is a fine tarp. You can make doors or order doors from some US vendors if you decide you need them. Wife has a superfly with doors but I've never felt the need for the doors. If any chance of...
Sounds like a good plan. I'm with Low Tech on not sliding the prusset & having both on one side. Just unclip one side & bag it @ other end. Leave that one hooked. You can the the cord from your stuff...
Bought a pair several years ago. Never used them. For some reason my feet never get Cold.
I like my 20° under quilts here in TN their perfect. Use them summer & winter.
Wife & I both have went to WBRR. We love them.
It always took 2-3 night's of using my gathered end hammock before sleeping what I call Good. I've had calf ridge in some & re-hang next night & didn't have it. Takes several times to dial it in....
Wife & I both use RR bridge hammocks. I have the synthetic from Aerrohead. 25°. I got her the 20° down from Warbonnet. Both are very good quality. The down is a little warmer but also runs a little...
Been hanging for about 15 year. 67 now. A year or so after starting hanging I started having to go 6-8 Times a night. I kept getting worse. Bought a regular travel p jug. Turned out I had cancer....
Built a 2 pole set up several years ago. Worked good in solid ground but not good in soft or Sandy soil. Tried to post pictures but couldn't. There is some of it in my profile pictures. I used...
Welcome from TN. I've loafed around in Louisiana on motorcycle some. Nice State with friendly folks.
Thank you Layne. I enjoyed your video.
I started with a HHED & hated the suspension in all ways I could configure it. Tried whoopies but didn't like that method either as the stock tree straps were to short bulky & stiff. With whoopies...
I tried them. Forgot to tie the safety knot. They slipped & dropped me. Immediately removed them & replaced with cinch buckles. They reside in my junk box now.
What's the yellow spot under the tree in the background @ the first of the video?
PahaQue double is a good log tarp @ about $35. I don't care for the dasie chains so I cut them off & suspend with a continuous ridgeline. Pro Venture is another decent one.
