Pretty cool...
Do you have any thoughts/future plans for an adapter or specific version that will accept conduit or fence rail for the legs?
Oh, man. I'm sorry...
Way-cool of you to do this again. I'm definitely in this time. Thanks for the opportunity. Good luck, all.
Tweaking is normal, even after you think you have it dialed in. :D Just be sure to try one thing at a time, then test drive it after each tweak. Really take your time testing, too. I was amazed at...
Here's a link to a FaceBook album of a recent trip. It should work even for non-FaceBookers.

Welcome from Central California!
Of course....but show us some pictures. :D
If you buy from a reputable dealer/cottage manufacturer (such as the ones here on HF), you pretty much can't make a 'bad' purchase (unless you buy without doing your homework). The resale of hammocks...
Good stuff.
I'd highly recommend trying to hang everything at least once, close to home (backyard, park, etc), before taking it on a trek.
I love my WB SF. It fits great under my 11' hammock. Great product, quality service, reliable.
California and Oregon for me so far...
Loops are usually good for grabbing, hanging, or attaching.
I've always heard, read, seen, been told: lofted and in something breathable.
Same info, same time: 12:22. :shades:
Yes - Mountain Goat, unless you want to make your own. I used this thread:...
Awesome. Have a great time! We'll be following along. Be safe!
Looks great, Beach'! Get out there and enjoy it! Setups are so personal, only you and experience can tell you what you want/need.
For the sake or weight savings and/or more-compact packing, we...
This is another method discussed at BPL: http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/forums/thread_display.html?forum_thread_id=33573
Fleaz? It's gonna be a Dutch Ti Circus. "Oh, Shug!"
When I say "swing from top bar" I literally mean swinging from the middle of the top rail like a kid on a Monkey Bar: weight focused in the middle, which wouldn't happen under normal conditions. As...
I use Prusiks and a single Dutch Wasp for my tarp's CRL. The Wasp works well; the mechanical advantage is nice and holds LashIt with a good bite. It's a firm bite but nothing I can't undo comfortably...
The LashIt will work fine as a hammock's adjustable ridgeline. So will Amsteel. I'd guess that the majority here uses LashIt or ZingIt for an SRL (structural ridge line).
Lots of folks also like...
Do both sides. Be sure you're using a sealant meant for silnylon (e.g. silicone).
My SF's tie out points had rather large needle holes- I didn't wait to seal them.
Otherwise, great tarp. No...
That's a neat little sack - quite conducive to making from leftover material, I think. That'd be pretty quick and easy. Hmmmmmm.
I don't think I'm the only one who uses a connector in my TDS top rail (to add a section and extend overall length). I've no worries. I won't be swinging from it and there is no danger of anyone else...
Huzzah! Someone that can write with me, about how much we don't do math! :D
You're just a few posts away from 50, then you can participate in the Pay It Forward thread. Keep an eye on it for small goodies, such as that adjustable ridgeline. :D
Six feet is about the average for whoopies. Mine are a little longer. 25' of Amsteel should make you two whoopie slings.
Try this video from this thread (good info throughout the thread's...
It's a win-win. Order incoming...
Thanks!
Don't feel dumb. It really is pretty amazing how close the relationships are between all the components of a hammock. One really does affect the other; it takes a while to really see and appreciate...
Good stuff, Shug. Thanks for the new video!
This is cool. I might have to try this.
Dutch - are you saying that the suspension options are an additional $39 and $36, respectively?
I'm sure his friends were watching from afar, in disbelief or confusion. I can certainly imagine, "Hey, Joe. Look at Joe, Sam. What is he doing? Hey, Joe! Oh, ****."
Knots are great fun and fun to know....but a quick, simple setup is oh-so-nice!
60 feet! Wow.
I don't know that a bug net would do much for the die-hard sleep walker. When I was a child I used to do all kinds of weird physical activities while sleep walking and I usually...
Do you leave your tarp attached to the ridgeline? That helps immensely. Either way, Dutch has some awesome Ti goodies that can help you set up your tarp quick and easy.
My tarp's CRL has a Dutch...
Me, too, now that I stop and read this thread (and pay attention to the banner).
Windows 7 and Chrome, with a pretty large screen and resolution.
Hopefully it was truly abandoned.
My family has lots of acreage in Oregon with hammocks hung here and there. They get taken via the backside of the property, which really isn't easy to get to, or...
Great adaptation, Will! This is nice. Thanks for the details.
I'm assuming the eye-bolts are only pressure tight against the rails - that you didn't drill more holes for those, just the two for...
Awesome, man. Thanks for sharing this trip.
That's a good one I learned about here. Haven't tried it in the field yet but it seems a winner while playing at home.
Four or five wraps works great for me.
Ukulele Bass? Oh man.... The wife's gonna be pissed.
A Jaw Harp is fun and totally packable. I like the Vietnamese brass Hmong harps.
Sometimes I'll bring a portable 2m/70cm [ham] radio...
I'm waiting for my time. :)
It can be interesting but don't worry much. I'm 5'4" and don't have much trouble with an 11' hammock (no way I can sleep in a 10'). Sticks or a trekking pole can help get straps up a few more inches...
Good call.
He has a few books, too, if you're inclined to read. Kindle versions are usually good buys.
It possibly could be augmented with another layer of synthetic insulation, such as Climashield or whatever it is that they're calling the current stuff. It's possible to buy it and sew yourself, or...

I'll echo the above...
Do try it, but try it on the "cheap" first, if you can.
I have a very nice Exped DownMat 9 that is great on the ground in the winter. It'd do OK in the hammock....
I use these and hang them from the ceiling in my bedroom walk-in closet. http://www.dollartree.com/The-Home-Store-Mesh-Laundry-Bags-with-Drawstrings/p343773/index.pro
