Yeah, that would have been nice.
Aside from materials, going by photos here are a couple things I spotted:
- The way the bugnet zips doesn't require reaching as high (not over the ridgeline)....
I personally wouldn't leave one out, but that's beside the point. Some simple shock cord toggle loops would work.

I'm on their mailing list and saw the same. A hammock, pad, and tarp coming in a little over 4 lbs isn't what I'd call UL, but it's a step forward and an indication they've taken customer feedback...
I stand corrected after doing a little more research. Some types of USPS shipping are not zoned (including First Class and Flat Rate), but others (including Priority) are. Thanks George.
Well, perhaps my comment was out of place considering the discussion is about shipping rates for a business. I do not own a business or use Click-N-Ship, but what I said is true for retail customers...
I can't answer what is best for dog claws, but I know you can get a Dream Hammock made from 2.2 Hex70, which is a fabric I've handled before and I think that would be more than tough enough for the...
One of the advantages of USPS is that postage is the same irrespective of distance. Even shipping to Alaska or Hawaii costs exactly the same as shipping something to your next door neighbor. (I often...
I have internal poles from both UGQ and SLD and they are the diameter you mentioned. I once had a set of Warbonnet external poles, which were a little thinner, as I recall.
I've never worried much...
I'll also add that before I tried the OneTigris, I used a pad in the hammock. That's not as nice as a good underquilt, but it is effective for staying warm, and it's possibly something you already...
Relatively early in my hammock days I bought the OneTigris underblanket from Amazon. I used it once or twice and decided to return it. So ultimately that particular experiment cost me nothing, but I...
Indeed! That's what I thought it was.
As far as I know, #2 is called a locked Brummel splice, and is what I use. Or rather I think what you've shown is a variation of it, because in the version I'm familiar with, the tails double back...
Ok, I assumed you were talking about these...

... which are rated for hammock loads, and roughly 3x heavier than the little HG clips.
I use...
As I'm sure you know, there's a million things you could try, but these might be worth a look.

Payment received. CRL is on its way to cougarmeat! Thanks again!
Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you're off to a good start with your choice of hammocks, and it's great that you're able to do it with your kids. Enjoy the weather and best wishes for your...
Thanks! Will send PM in just a sec. There's a great demo of how to use the toggle for adjustment starting at 3:15 in this video by fellow forum member Anne Marie (coldautumndays) of Autumn...
sorry, my fault on the length. It's 35', but I think that should be enough to go around at least one of cougarmeat's PNW trees. :D
CRL is sold to cougarmeat, pending payment.
For sale is a CRL for your tarp made from 1.75mm grey Lash-It. The Lash-It is brand new and was spliced by me this afternoon. The ridgeline includes a black anodized LoopAlien at the non-adjustable...
Thanks, that does seem like a clever and simple innovation to the concept, for those who would want this feature.
See post #16 in this other current thread.

I fully respect your hardware-free approach/aesthetic - but for the ridgeline, I do use Dyneema cord + hardware. My preferences are for the Autumn Ultralight ridgeline or this setup with 1.75mm...
Yes, good to mention. I agree, and my lines of choice are Lawson 2mm Glowire and/or Zpacks 1.3mm Z-Line. I'm honestly not sure how the latter works with adjustable friction hitches, but it does...
Probably just my lack of experience using them, but one thing that has always dissuaded me from using the bottom entry net is the setup process. I like to hang my hammock and then attach my UQ,...
In the most common usage of Tarpworms, the guylines are left attached to the tarp. You might be thinking of Hookworms, which are typically used with guylines that stay with the stakes, and the...
Couldn't have said it better. This is where I settled after trying lots of different gizmos and creatures. I still have a tarp or two with Lineloc 3 hardware attached, but the method above is...
Not a thru hiker, but I have quite a few (maybe around 100?) combined nights between the Chameleon, BBXLC, Sparrow, & Darien. No problems with any of those. They're not all the same though... the...
Ouch! Well, better the second morning than the first morning! Hope you didn't get hurt.
Payment received, thank you. Trail Designs kit is sold to Gustavus.
I agree - take a look at it for inspiration, and then think of how you could make one yourself with cheaper materials, knowing that you don't need it to be lightweight and collapsible for travel.
Caldera Keg and CRL are sold to Muddy. Evernew 900 Ti-Tri set still available.
Bump for reduced prices.
I’m hoping to clear out a few more UL items to help thin the collection. All prices include domestic shipping. PayPal or Venmo accepted. Thanks for stopping by!
1) Trail Designs Evernew 900 +...
That 80% consensus doesn't seem to be going so well. ;)
I doubt they have Walmarts in Yorkshire. :)
Maybe Tesco or Asda.
That's going to be something you and your wife will just have to try for yourselves to find out what works for you. I am 6'1" also and don't like hammocks any wider than 64". 11'x62" is my preference.
That's a nice color, and true to its name. My BBXLC is that color, with an ocean blue top cover. My wooki has the reverse - blue for the inner layer to differentiate it from the hammock body, and...
Cats and shenanigans? Never!
Payment received. Knife is sold. Thank you!

I'm hoping to clear a few items out of the gear cave. All prices include domestic shipping. PayPal or Venmo accepted. Thanks for stopping by!

The Darien can be paired with pretty much any underquilt; there's nothing about it that's especially different from other gathered end hammocks.
If pack size is a concern, you should look at...

P.S. I don't mean to make light of a serious topic. Real (harmful) addiction is nothing to joke about.
