It sounds like it's too snug under the back. Quilts are made with a differential however it's still possible to push into these lighter weight materials.
That's great! Welcome to the club :)
I have one that I could get rid of. I maybe wore it once. Only thing is I am up in Canada and shipping would probably add a bit to it.
As much as I love all the enthusiasm you basically took over a Cricket discussion / thread. You probably wouldn't like that in the reverse scenario.
If the intent was grin, then I withdraw some of my angst from the reply. So many people are offering opinions on gear they hope to make 2 cents off of, come watch my video so I can make some more...
Glad it worked out for you.
Part of the temperature factor is the baffle width as well as the loft.
Cheers

Hi
You don't need to try and make me seem like I am 'Shilling' for a company that I am not. I am not planning on selling these. In fact I so liked the stand I asked if I could offer a discount but...
The machining of the hubs and small details are amazing.
I also have the freedom hubs to use outdoors.
Very nicely made stand.
Nice write-up!
I have had the opportunity to set one up and use it. Background - I have had a Tensa stand and wasn't happy with the size of it (needed to spread out widthwise) and it was a bit finicky. I ended up...
The legs are adjustable with the sliding pins.
It sounds like a few things.
I think you were over dressed. Usually a base layer and super loose socks. Too much and you can constrict blood flow (if it's tight enough). Balaclava or some head...
Yeah, tell me about it. I was getting some accessory cord from them as well as a few other things. Took 12 emails (3 different people), 4 phone calls, another 2 emails and another 6 phone calls. Not...
Your wooki is an asymmetrical UQ. You won't be able to switch lays. You switch to the other side and you will lay across the UQ not with it.
I've played with both hammocks for personal use and find...
I use a dyneema style CRL. However all my tie outs for the tarp are simple dacron. I get the 300lb test that is sold as planer board line (for fishing). Little stretch, nice color selection, doesn't...
Excellent. Always nice to have new hammock people in the western provinces.
As things clear up (hopefully) a few of us are planning some hangs and stuff in Alberta.
Nothing is for sure but...
Good to know, Last time I chatted over email with you it was Duck Down 800FP. Cheers
If you email them direct they will tell you it's 800 FP Duck Down.
Nice video. The bulk of DCF when stuffing always resulted in a surprising mass. Your folding method is quite nice.
Only thing that flashed through my mind was it could result in a wet amount of...
The woodland camo of the Hexon 1.6 is not a 'printed fabric'
The pattern will be on both sides equally.
I made one from .8 DCF. It fitted my Atom 40 and my NorthernUL Sundown pack perfect. It's been in use for 3 years. I have no intention of using a Pack Cover with my packs and the roll top works...
I am pretty sure Anne isn't doing any super custom hammocks (other than fabrics/patterns) at this time. And if there wasn't anything finalized with payment then there must have been some confusion. I...
Hey There :)
I have a number of Ready to Ship Quilts both for Topquilts and for Underquilts at
https://www.littleshopofhammocks.com/
I am getting caught up on lead time however I would prefer to...
Quilt DIY fabrics are now available at Little Shop of Hammocks.
Eventually there will be down as well sourced within Canada.
A variety of colors in 10D and 15D Calendared fabrics, plastic bits etc....
Little Shop of Hammocks is now selling DIY / MYOG supplies. Mostly focusing around the quilt side of the DIY. A variety of 15D and 10D options.
Thanks

I have actually removed doors from tarps for customers. They wanted the ease of setup and the initial 'needing a tent' feel went away. Everyone has their something..
I've had one zipper failure on hundreds and hundreds of hammocks.
I can't confirm but it sounded like the guy was opening up his hammock zip with his feet/boots. Basically
putting his foot in the...
You might want to go with a net top, you may find the top cover a bit hot and muggy during
your normal 2-3 season usage in Ontario and surrounding areas.
I would highly suggest a 11' tarp. A 11'...
Another suggestion. If it's one of the baffles closer to the edge or one that folds under you why not just run a seam of stitching one either side maintaining the 5" baffle width. then carefully open...
Im not sure if this was addressed but the Old Rag Mountain Quilt is by definition "was specifically designed for use as a top quilt with a foot sack capability" (off their website). So it has no...
Hey there, (just giving your their source data)
UGQ has a bit on the fabric which is sourced from RSBTR:...
Why don't you do this which will allow a bit more leeway.183819
The overstuff is important, your 10% will probably leave you wishing you put more in.
I am thinking he's dipping into too many different pockets. Hard to support and endorse something
when you are endorsing competition's gear as well. He's really pushing Pomoly and their gear....
Well actually Lone Wolf 902 is actually only a marketer. And contact with OneTigris suggesting that big logo on the side might hurt their sales they replied that They are distancing from LW902 and...
Sometimes with those style of bobbin holders you get wear. That black piece the bobbin pops down into.
It will start to shift. If that's the case then that piece can be replaced on the machines I...
I look at the huge side walls and think, sheesh. One bad night of wind changing is
going to be a bad night for that vehicle storage unit. Going to be a few melted tarps
if wind hits the side with...
I really hadn't thought about what he was using up until we started chatting. I think once he gets into using an UQ for winter, using a pad
for the summer will be unbearable lol.
Nice to see you on...
I had a great time. Thanks!
My personal body functions seem similar to Shugs. I know that it's a natural thing for the body to cool slightly during the night and then start to warm back up at around the 5pm/6pm getting you...
Big thing with the UQ is not to overtighten it. Make sure it's suspended using the extra quilt hooks on the hammock. I believe you use a chameleon so put little sbiners on those d rings near the...
So true, so true. It seems that some people can totally endorse a given product just because they spent their hard earned dollars on it. And for no other reason. When I was travelling in New Zealand...
Simply roll the end of the strap over 2x and sew across it with whatever thread is in a sewing machine at the time.
Problem solved, no issues.
Ive been using Kevlar straps for a couple years now. I've yet to see the incoming doom. They don't turn 'brown'
and continue to work well (supposedly they turn brown from UV). I've retired one strap...
Oh this!!! Nothing like waking up at 5 am because the sun is out and blinds you. First experience with this in a bad way was my DCF tarp. Argh.. it was sold shortly thereafter.
Pretty crazy. Have been waiting for a lull to work on some projects and that was a long time ago. So I can't complain.
For your needs in a hammock you will find that either will work just fine. Things get a bit more complicated when you start using a kero-step on the ground. There are more angles the quilts folds...
Welcome to the group. Lots of information here for you for sure!
Hi, thought I would jump in here.
First off, you won't find stomach sleeping a thing using a gathered end hammock. Only ones I have seen even coming close are kids. That being said you can sleep on...
Excellent! Welcome to the wild world of Hammock Camping
Im so used to the C° & F° conversion now ;) .
Im getting older and not as warm as I used to be. My significant other used to say I was a furnace. Now it's the other way around :)
Some of it must...
