My Trailheadz Banshee UL only has a 3/4 length zip on one side.
The downside with CF is it appears no one makes them anymore.
That was why I questioned it. How often do you find you need to adjust the knots substantially to get it centered?
You sold me at this.
Where did you get the CF snake skins from ? mine are mesh, interested in the weight difference.
Thanks for sharing this. it is interesting. I am using 30g netting snake skins. What's the weight of your shock cord + stuff sack?
If using a continuous ridgeline for a tarp, do you put the ridgeline inside your snakeskins or keep it outside?
Keeping it inside seems to keep it organized and less likely to tangle.
Thanks
cheers mate.
This is really interesting. Just so I have it clear, can you confirm that the prussic loops then have two lines running through them, the ridgeline, and the loop?
I like this idea a lot.

Thanks everyone lots of great info.
**** it. Old dog learned a new trick today. off to play with my set up.
This seems like a very good use of $10 - thanks I will sign up.
I use dyneema line and truckers hitches, zero hardware. Which then makes me wonder why I dont just do that on the ridge lines too.
Keeps me regular, which keeps the weight down.
I use them as food, they require a good chew, but boy the nutritional value!
just use a finger nail to peel the plaque off after a few days ;)
Thanks, it does. I can see how the single line system might make it easier to center the tarp and perhaps take some load off the tarp fabric. I do like the two line system as it appeals to the UL...
Thanks for all the info.
Okay, so can you point me to a discussion so I can make an educated decision on one v two lines. Cheers
That's good to know. Thank you.
I currently use two Dutchware StingerZ with 12' lines spliced onto them as my tarp (HG DCF with doors) ridge lines.
Two concerns with this approach that I would love some advice one:
1. This...
Thank you.
In the situation where you have your head end a lot lower than the foot end do you still try and get a 30 degree hang at each end?
I wiggle so much I feel sure that an arm or a leg would pop out from under my quilt and I would be eaten alive without my full bug net. But mozzies are the state bird of MN....
Have been hanging for a decade in MN, mainly on kayaking trips. Now (after retiring) branching out into thru hiking and setting myself up with a lighter hammock. Currently using a Warbonnet XLC with...
