So it will make sense? Maybe not today, but before I get to Springer. And I'll be a total pro by the time I get to Katahdin!
I am really new. And I gt WSs on my WBBB. How long does it take for these slings to stop being so counter intuitive?! I have to hold onto them and think real hard and pull 6 different ways before I...
Hello and welcome from Maine! Soon to be relocating back to Oregon. It must be amazing, hanging from those trees.
Mine will be here tomorrow! And it's been a little warmer this week, but it's supposed to get cold again this weekend. I'll get to really test it!
Right now I have the standard tree straps that came with my WBBB, and they are fine for Maine trees so far. But I'm moving back out to Oregon and the trees there are huge! What size tree straps do...
I'm really bummed I won't be around for this! I've never been to a hang before. But I'm leaving for the AT right before. maybe next year
I got the 1.1 dbl for my AT thru. In case I gain like 100lbs, it will still hold me.
No, really i planned to use my pad, but got an UQ so I won't need it. but just in case
Hi from Maine! I lived in Portland a couple of years ago and I'm heading back after i thru hike this year

I was just looking around to see if I could find lead times for you!
I'm really excited to be able to sleep out in my hammock. I will wait patiently. But it's hard to do!!!

Th cat cuts were the trickiest part, but not terrible. I marked half way between the tie out points. then up 5". I used a fairly heavy string and just eyeballed the curve from 5" down to the tie out...
True. it is fantastic to work with and light
I used a Blue needle. I don't remember what exact size it is but the top f the needle is blue. It's not the smallest one (orange) but the next one up. il Poly is so thin you don't want to use a big...
It's great fabric! The hardest part is laying it out and marking your cat cuts. After that it flies by
I was much easier than I thought it would be. In hindsight I wish I had drank more beer :) You'll do just fine
My husband painted on some silicon mixture. I don't remember what he mixed it with
One is for me, one is for my husband
Why yes it is!
Thanks! It was fun. I'm making top quilts next.
One is about 10.5 X 8.5
he other is 11 X 8.5
Both made from sil Poly with a lightly heavier fabric for the reinforcements. I don't know about the first (smaller) one, but the larger one, including...
My UQ will be a Jarbidge 3 season. It's my TQ I am planning to make. I'm not so much worried about my butt and I am the rest of me. :) But either way it sounds like 2.5 claimshield TQ will likely...
The weight and compressability of down is appealing. However with 2 of everything to buy it just isn't possible. We could buy one down, an the other would have to wait, or buy two synthetic now....
So it's 2.5, plus a patch up the torso that has an additional layer? So that patch is 5? Because that would cut bulk and some weight!
To get down to 30s would you suggest 2 layers of the 2.5? (we're ordering our UQs from you actually)
If my UQ is rated to 25, and I'm sleeping in 30ish degrees, do you think a TQ with 2.5 climashield would be enough?
I'm not opposed to a liner of some kind that I can use if it's colder and remove...
The fabric really does feel amazing. I wasn't expecting it to be so silky.
Any thoughts on the Jarbidge? The 3 season is only $100. I considered making my UQ but I can't make one fr much less than...
Well I did it. The WBBB was the one I wanted and the one to beat. Nothing did so I got it and am glad I did. It is really easy to set up. Having never once set up a hammock and tarp before I got it...
I'm all set to buy a Warbonnet Blackbird. Can't wait! But every now and then I see a $20 hammock an wonder why I'm not just getting one of those and a bug net. I'm sure they aren't a comfortable and...
Good to know. I'm ordering mine Monday!
Was that the 1/4 thickness pad? And to what temp did you find that was comfortable? I would love to forgo the UQ if I can!
Hi there,
My husband and I are stating our AT thru hike in April. I love hiking but have never had a good nights sleep in a tent. Never ever. I'm told if I convert to a hammock I'll be a happy...
