Congrats on the great choice! I enjoy mine a lot and I'm sure you'll love yours. I think right now they come with a free storage sack too so that would be awesome if you get one as well.
You guys are the best! Thanks so much.
I always find it more comfortable with a pillow but I side-sleep so maybe that's why. I have a horribly bulky one I bring along. I have to look into those inflatable ones...would be nicer to cut...
Nice...I noticed that the camo webbing is the same price as all the other colors. I love seeing that as everyone seems to charge extra for it.
Do some searches on here or YouTube. There are a lot of really great videos out there to teach you. Look up what you want to make, a continuous loop for example, and you should find loads of info.
Good times then...and with a full belly
I'm the opposite way... "I could get the Dutch elves to do this OR I could have a ball splicing it myself...easy decision! "
I love splicing...throw a movie on and go to town on it ☺
Great turn around...I ordered an UQ on Jun 20th...it shipped on Jul 8th. Can't wait for it to get here! It's only 4 hours away from home :) Thanks guys!
Nice job! And congrats on a very impressive first post ☺
I have to agree with this. I distinctly remember feeling the silence was making my ears ring the last time I was on a trip. I live for that when in the woods.
Huh. I'm usually looking at ancient pines and thinking "looks very healthy. ..that tree isn't going anywhere in my lifetime".
Interesting differences in philosophies.
I'm about 6-3" and have an Argon 1.6, 11 footer from dutch and it's plenty big enough for me. I think you'd be fine in it
Any excuse to go hang eh? ☺ I hope this won't be too long of a strike. Especially for you small business owners.
Is there any other shipping option within Canada for you? I'm guessing it's too...
I can't see myself ever writing on mine but I also will probably never sell it either.
I'm thinking more along the lines of 'bury me with it so I have a hammock for the afterlife'
I've got one of Dutch's continuous ridgelines and his site says they start with 30' of line. Same as mbal1856...only had a few times where I wished for a few more feet.
I like that idea of...
I was at the point where I just could not stand sleeping on the ground anymore when I found hammocks. Congrats on finding it before it was too late.
The only down side is that you've already...
Very sad. Pillars are so tempting but are usually not designed for sideways forces that hammocks exert. Yes I know, I'm Captain Obvious
Truly, awfully, truly corpse-like foot there Shug. Just catching up on some videos and trying to get in the spirit of summer and hoping I get some time to get out this season.
As always, great...
Also keep in mind that the mod shortens the hammock when you snug it up. Don't make the mistake of checking to see if you got the 10 or 11 footer right after you play with the bungee that tightens...
Envious. Breathe in once and smile for all us suckers who are chained to our desks right now

Very cool. Looked like no bug net on...I'm forever taking pics through mine.

We can't afford to buy from the US with the exchange rate lately :(
Can't wait to see the site updates!
EDIT: Arrrg this was yesterday...so I CAN see the updates. Runs off to get more coffee...
Let's get this straight...your wife is going to hate...you. We're just here helping you spend your money!
Sounds like a great plan...bite the bullet and go for it. And yes it sounds like child...
Welcome to the forums...from north of your north :)
I went with woodland camo out, and black in so probably not much use to you. But here's how it looks

Congrats! I don't think you'll be disappointed. I've enjoyed me immensely. Still trying to figure out a way to hang it in my finished basement without angering the boss with holes/contraptions for...
heh I love it. Wish I could will myself to spend my spare time doing stuff like that instead of wasting it away. Definitely needs a little underquilt...I know my daughters have plenty of top quilts...
All I want for Christmas is my two front...no wait...about 20 ounces of 850fp down from RSBTR :)
Welcome to hammocking! Congrats on finding your way off of the ground and up into the comfort zone.
I think I got lucky...I had the habit curbed by my government/banks. Our dollar is so bad against yours that it really has become too expensive to buy anything from the States right now. I can't...
Upon first entering this thread, I thought I was going to see how Dutch had somehow hung his hammock from a downed tree. Glad no one was hurt!
Looks beautiful there. Thanks for sharing those pics. I hope someday I can get some trip time in BC. Something about ancient trees just makes me want to live there.
I find the older I get the longer the falls are. Glad you didn't do any damage, to yourself or your gear.
Great shots! Looks like you had some really great weather on the days you went. I can't wait to go back there in the spring! I am surprised you were able to fit your gear into such a small kayak. ...
Ya that's better than here. If that was a home built here, that would be shoddy wood trim :) You just might be safer than than I originally thought.
I wonder if the treatment to make the down waterproof is what is causing the issue. Maybe some folks are more sensitive to the smell of it? It is a chemical after all. I know my wife has a lot...
Yikes...that looks a little .. unsafe to me. The only thing holding the window in place looks like the trim around it with a little bit of caulking and probably just a few nails. Hopefully you...
Allllriiiiight. Congrats on getting your own spot on the forums. This will make announcements and questions that much easier to find.
I have a DD at the moment and in the spring I had it down to about 3 or 4 degrees C. It states it's good to -5C on their site I think and I could see that. The coldest of our mornings in the spring...
Looks like you've got it all covered for gear. The BB comes with all you need to hang it...mine came with the suspension but if you wanted to switch out to whoopies could use the straps that come...
I usually use my wife as a comparison. I would say that I sleep hot...so on a typical night, dressed similarly (pj type material) I would lie there feeling hot with the covers off while my wife is...
Beautiful pics and great trip report. Don't you just love that feeling though when you make it through the waves? That "wooo-whooooo" moment is something that I always try to explain to friends who...
...Then you get all your improvements made and you still go to Dutch's to see the price of Zing-it even though you don't really need any more. Congrats on finding the fun in making your own! They...
Welcome to the forums. Can't beat the folks here.
Haha precisely calibrated at birth. I like that. Neat way to hang. Wish I had concrete ceilings 😊
The DD underblanket is long. 2m. I use it with a BB XLC without issue. It has extra shock cord to put over your ridgeline and I find that's what keeps it in place. I just tug on the cord to get it...
Good thinking...I'd have used it myself except they don't offer that to Canadians.
I did the same for my TQ...$25 a month until I had about $200 and then also asked for money for father's day and my birthday (a few days apart) and I had enough to get it. If you ever go for any...
I'm holding out for the Princess Leia ones.
