Thanks for the advice. I cleared the floor and got out the carpentry square. That made things much easier.
Now I just need to stop messing up the sewing. This is going to take a lot of seam sealer.

I'm about to start on my first DIY tarp and I've run into a problem. How do you measure and cut the cloth accurately? I've made a few hammocks before, but with those it doesn't matter if things are a...
Thanks, I've ordered a 20°F model
I've more or less settled on a Wookie Underquilt for my WBBBXLC but I'm not entirely sure about which temperature rating I should choose.
I live in Denmark and i need a quilt I can use for the...
I took down my XLC for the first time in 14 weeks :(
A few hours of snoozing on the bed has me questioning the sanity of our non-hammocking brethren.
I hang on a ship. Automated sway guaranteed
You couldn't have recommended something with fewer colour options? :P
I'm about to pull the trigger on a couple of MYOG hammocks and a tarp from RSBTR and I've just realised I don't know which thread to use. I'll be sewing in SilNylon, 1.2 Robic and their generic...
I've been sleeping in my XLC every night for ten weeks. That way I don't have to deal with the rock hard bunks we have on board and I sleep like a log in all but the most extreme rolling.
I did some in-situ cleaning. Our washing machines on board are terrible so I stretch out the interval between washing by wiping it down with a wet rag every day or so.
Indeed. It doesn't matter how ghetto your setup is as long as you get out there.
I use these hooks for the ridgeline. So far it hasn't been a problem with the guylines, but they'll work there as...

Does it have to be removed again at some point? Because a couple of stainless steel eyebolts and a decent two component glue designed to work with concrete is more than strong enough. Just make sure...
Thank you.
That's awesome. Where did you get the monopods?
I'm planning on making a tarp and a gathered end hammock when I return home around the end of this month. I've read quite a few tutorials on this site and others so I think I know what I'm getting...
Packs up quite small is clearly a relative term
I have a WWBB XLC and I need a budget friendly tarp for it. So far I've been using a green hardware store tarp I had laying around and while it works it does leave something to be desired. The easy...
