Nice work brother. Looks good, so Im kind of lost, how exactly does it mount and stay on?
Jeremy
I know this is an old thread, but does that double cat with center tie make a big difference in rigidity and cutting wind? Sold Superfly and saving for new tarp and I am thinking of the OMW.
Jeremy
Any pics of it strung up?
Jeremy
This would be a funny debate, I wonder if anyone knows how to possibly to change words and do it lol. Like voice over it or something lol
Jeremy
I would if I ever won anything:( I put in on every give away and stuff and never win weather its here or anywhere. Bad luck I guess, I have seen some people win multiple times, and its funny how...
Just dug up specs, its 9x9. Would this make a good tarp? Its water resistant but not water repellant and made from 1800mm PU Nylon Taffeta, it weighs 23 oz with stuff sack.
Jeremy
There material does not breath well, which is why it has somewhat of a insulative factor by trapping in body heat. Its not very durable and strong, gets ripped easily, not sure if I would feel safe...
What are the dimensions?
Good write up brother. The best advice I can give anyone is always over pack with more thing to stay warm when in cold weather. I have yet to hang in really cold weather, but have slept in tents in...
After multiple pms here is my "Ill take the Bugnet" post per HF rules. Thanks Craig, happy doing business with ya :)
Jeremy
You can also undo the gathered ends lay the ridgeline on the hammock and re whip it and feed the whoopies though the loop on each end so it doest slid up and down when you go to pack it up. Same way...
I would say very good. Whats the weight?
Jeremy
Oh, what I meant was, when you buy a tarp from any vendor, company, or manufacturer it should come seam sealed. Sorry if that came out wrong in the first post lol
Jeremy
That is a TrailLite. Retail is $60. That said this is a good deal.
Here are thermarest specs
*Comfort and durability is what you get when you rest on the Trail Lite by Therm-a-Rest®.
*Extra...

I think when you buy a tarp it should come seam sealed.

Jeremy
To stay cheap a pad and PLUQ will do fine with a decent bag.
Jeremy
Change from OutdoorJunkie1992 to TheCoyote. Why????? I howl like a coyote before bed in the wood? And think they are beautiful wild dogs. I have yet to hunt one, but will soon.
Jeremy
I have one. Love it. They dont pack very small though.
Jeremy
Welcome and nice starter kit you got there.
Jeremy
These things are awesome. They are so much though lol. Im going to try to make one lol
Jeremy
Welcome from Ohio
Jeremy
Mostley right is better than wrong :) Haha. I was just thinking of how much warmth it would add to say a Dangerbird with the Graf depoyed and the overcover on hammock deployed. Man, I bet that would...
I think making a overcover to stow away at opposite end of bugnet like on the Dangerbird and Clarks would be nice. But no need to change it.
Jeremy
Ya and marmots pack down just as small and are 1/2 the price of a quilt. I am in the market for a marmot or northface. Had a TQ and did not like my backside exposed when I rolled, I get a draft. I...
My next hammock is a Dangerbird 60:) Idk weather to get a single layer or double layer. I wont use a pad often, but not sure how much that second layer helps. Anyone wanna lend some advice on that...

More of a bushcrafter, sleeping in a hammock in winter is to much money. I sleep in a hammock in temps above 50 with a PLUQ and a wool blanket. That and I am buying a full length quilt, mummy bag,...
I also need 2 decent sleeping pads

I am a side sleeper, and would love to try one before spending 200 on one. Wonder if anyone in Ohio has one I can look at?
Jeremy
To be honest idk. Contact HammockGear and ask them if the pheonix will work with it. If it does this one will.
Jeremy
Cool stuff guys, looking forward to pics and video of gen 2.
Medicine Man and Hang-N-Out make them and they are still testing them. They are on there second prototype.
Jeremy
Quilt still available
Jeremy
I am a big advocate of wool myself.
Jeremy
I made a full as well. Its wide enough and you can also tie it over the hammock as one a one layer cocoon lol
Jeremy
You can also fold it the other way to make it a full length. Thats what I did
