So far, just interest. Still available.
Still available.
The top quilt is NOT long, as shown in the image clipped from my order that was added yesterday to the initial post.
I purchased in September 2014. I’d presume they were made the same year.
Jacks R Better Mt Washington 4 under quilt and Regular Old Rag Mtn top quilt. 800 Activ-Dry down. Underquilt used about 10 nights. Top quilt about 2. Have stuff sack for each, but not other storage...
I was hoping to make the trip because it looks like a great hang, but I still have a flight home tonight and feel like I'm coming down with something.
Hopefully I can join in next year. I'm going...
Hi - I'm hoping to make it up there. I don't get home from a work trip until Friday night, so my earliest would be sometime Saturday in the morning.
I put my name on the google docs. Thanks!
I actually decided to give one of these a try.
I've got a cheap hammock that I've used for just general hanging....I think this one will replace that.
I haven't been on a group hang in a while....I'll have to see if this weekend works out for me. Looks fun!
Thanks much for the input, everyone.
I had no specific reason I would be looking to go to 11' ... I just wanted an idea of whether or not anyone thought I should have a specific reason to...
Thanks, Dutch! All taken care of.
I've got a WBBB double layer. That was my first. I have a couple other gathered-end hammocks, no ridgelines...don't really like sleeping in them as much as I enjoy the BB.
Looking at getting a new...
If it's warm, I'm generally not wearing a bra. Not a lot of need. And if I am wearing one, it wouldn't have a wire.
I'm in the market for another hammock. I'm trying to decide if it's worth going to an 11'.
Stats: I'm short; 5'3". I'm under 150#.
Thanks for any thoughts.
I don't claim to be an expert.
But interaction #1 was "we can't find your orders", to which I responded with copies of my invoices. Seems like since they went through the process of making me...
I've been trying to work with customer service, but they stopped answering me.
I had a strap get caught in a hook. No surprise, hook won. Not blaming the gear, that part's on me.
Anyway, I'm...
Amok Draumr 3.0 hammock & tarp plus Exped SynMat LW pad. - $325 including shipping/insurance in continental US.
Original 3.0. I bought used. Looks mostly new. I’ve used for 2 nights. SynMat 7 is...
I finally tried the one I got. It was comfy enough but I think I'm going to stick with my WBBB.
What kind of straps are you using? Nylon will stretch out. Polyester doesn't.
I agree on the ridgeline and angle recommendations.
I tend to set up the hammock and then have a seat in it, and...
I don't cook or eat in the hammock.
I do have a separate tarp that I've brought along in case of rain, but so far, haven't had to use it as the kitchen tarp.
I'm a big fan of the CostCo Kirkland trail socks. They're about $12 for 4 pair, and have a pretty good % of wool. Plus they're comfy and warm.
ETA: Also a big fan of Keens. They're my brand for...
I'll take the Synmat, also. Sending PM.
I'll take the hammock/tarp.
Hey y'all. I haven't gone back and looked through this whole thread yet, so I don't know if this topic was discussed or not. (I'll do that in a bit; right now I'm posting on a work break.)
I've...
I'll take one.
If Bananahammock rescinds, I'd take it.
(And if he doesn't, I hope he enjoys the setup.)
I'm going to have to skip this one.
Weather seems good for a winter hang.
Unfortunately, life's keeping me busy and I need to stick around home.
If I go, I live in Andersonville. Easy to run through Lakeview.

I was a fun time. Glad I went.
I don't think I'm going to try biking in.
I may try the parking closer to drop off stuff idea, though.
Hoping to be there late morning/early afternoon.
I'm also wondering if the flooding is affecting the trail or the site.
And, for one more question (at present) - is the water at the campsite accessible year-round? (Other than the river/canal.)
Okie dokie. Still interested.
I'm interested.
Think the I&M is bikeable?
Sounds fun, but don't think I can make that weekend.
I'd like to go if I'm available. No idea which weekends I have free at this point, but Jan and Feb seem pretty open at present.
I won't be able to make it tonight, but planning to drive over tomorrow morning.
Probably because I had the wrong town. Whoops!
Still hoping to go, but it depends on tomorrow's workload.
If it works with my schedule, I'd be interested in a drive up from Chicago. I've also got a 4-season tent that I'm interested in testing at some point, although I'm more interested in the hammock...
I was going by Google maps...for what that's worth.
Is a late Friday arrival acceptable? I'm interested in going, but it's about 4 hrs of driving plus an hour of time change.
While it's a bit further, I've been out to Lake Shabonna, and had a nice weekend hang there. Even went through a pretty major storm, but the superfly kept me dry.
I'd also like to try Zion some...
I considered getting one of these.
But I just finished a RSBTR hex tarp, and I'm considering making another one of those. I think I'd rather put in the sweat equity for another silpoly (or...
At that temp, you'll know pretty quickly if you're off your insulation.
Started watching your video, but don't have the time to watch it all now. I'll have to watch the rest later.
I did a Baker -> Sawbill loop two years ago with a friend. This summer I did a solo...
I went to CostCo today and hadn't yet read this thread.
Another trip is in order.
I'm in Andersonville...but Humboldt is an easy enough destination. I'm booked up for next two weekends, but I'll be around after that...unless I decide on more camping.
I'm in Chicago. I haven't tried Cook County sites yet.
I was in WI last weekend. My friends in tents were complaining about being cold -- not me.
If you ever want to try gear in a city park....
