Lower mounting will give me a shorter height but a wider span?

It's hard to remember but I think both of my tarps are 12'ers

Yes, the docs are "lacking" (no offense). So, would it be better try and put the extension on the outside of the poles? I was hoping to get it figured out yesterday because my son and I were going to...
Ok, I'm starting to figure out the stand (little by little) but I need help with the tarp extensions please. I'll go back through the post and see if I can find what I need but I'm having issues...
Another question. Has anyone used these in the winter? Any issues from the button locks? Winter staking? Are the boom stakes strong enough for the foot end in the winter?
Sent from my SM-G965U...
I meant the actual hammock when I mentioned you, CL on one pole on the head end and a little adjustment on the foot end.
I'll definitely try to loosen the head end more next time I mess with it
...
I did loosen the head end some but I'll let it out more next time. I'll definitely look at taking the ridgeline off the stand.
I believe that I hung the hammock similar to the Shug showed hanging...
I got mine set up this morning with my Dutchware Chameleon. I will definitely have to do some tweaking but so far I like it. Next will be trying out the tarp extensions. If that goes well, looks like...
Ya, looks perfect for the backyard with no trees or to pack with when we go camping with the scouts and we're unsure of the tree situation or even in our basement. :D
RIP Grant.
Oh great. :(
This looks like exactly what I need........except I'll need 2 of them. One for me and one for my son, LOL
Yes, I'm curious also. I normally use 11' hammocks & a 12' tarp and would LOVE to make a couple of those
Has it been announced that you'll be having one?
That is pretty sharp

LOL!

Top cover, not a tarp

I'm glad you have this color combo because it's what I was thinking about. I'll probably go with a gray. Not a sports fan, so no Bears colors for me

I have a burnt orange Dutchware Chameleon that I'm wanting to get a top cover for. Looking for suggestions on what color?

After all of your suggestions I decided on an 11-foot netted hammock from Dutchware. Thanks for all the help!

Our youngest has an upcoming birthday and I would like to get him a reasonably priced but quality netted hammock. Preferably $100 or less. Also looking for something in stock if using one of our...
Nice idea! An auto paint store by me carries bed liner in a spray can. Maybe a coat or 2 of something like that might work nicely also

Finding good straight 2x2's around me seems to be a chore so I'd hate to have to do it too often, LOL
Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Is simply painting or staining and waterproofing the 2x2's enough to keep them from warping? How do you store yours?
Thanks in advance!

Got down to 27. My son & I were toasty warm. It was nice getting into a prewarmed hammock
Anyone see any harm in using the single wall ss Nalgene bottle to heat the water in and using it instead of needing to transfer the water from a pot to the bottle?
There, I think it worked
Which account? Photobucket or Tapatalk?
I took our youngest out for a few hours down by the river to "hang" and relax.
Let's try this again
...
I have a 14 yr old & a 5 (almost 6) yr old. The 14 yr old has hung by himself in scouts for a couple of years when he decides to. The little one has only hung side by side with me under the same tarp...
Order placed. XS for my 6 yr old and 3XL for me
I have to check with my boys to see if they want shirts too before I order mine
Amazing pics
One of our scouts after seeing me hang at summer camp, talked his mom into getting rid of his bed and putting a hammock up while his day was away, hehe. His mom said he slept 12 hrs he first night...
It's surprisingly thinner than I expected.
I believe it'll be a nice addition to my kit no matter what. Additional insulation in colder weather or a light "blanket" in warmer weather
LOL! Very nice
I picked a poncho liner up today. Haven't had time to mess with it but at least I have that option now
AND......TA DAH! Such a good smurf. :boggle:
Maybe check about returning them straight back to ENO? Maybe a pic of the damaged one and they'd just send you a replacement out?
That sucks. I'm sure Randy will help you out for a fair price. Sorry to hear about this.
Maybe keep your gear in a plastic tote?
It may not have anything to do with the vendors if the down is clumped and had to be moved around due to it being ran through the washing machine.
I don't have near the nights in a hammock as some...
I'll try to get a weight of mine for you if you need it either tonight or tomorrow (if I can remember). I have an older (I think) 0°F Incubator that I just got back from Hammock Gear because I had...
Large? Bah, silly little people. j/k
This old fat guy just needs to lose weight is all. :scared:
PM incoming with info
I LOVE my 0°F Incubator, so much so that I just got it back from having HG do 4oz overfill on it so that I can take it even lower hopefully.
That's a thought actually. I was thinking about something similar and talking to my buddy's wife that does a lot of sewing
I didn't list clothing but I have heavy wool socks, polypro tops & bottoms & a beanie I wear. Somewhere around here I also have a balaclava.
I never thought about a poncho liner as a blanket...
Thanks. I know fleece is fairly light but I didn't know if there would be any compression issues with it on top of the TQ. I'm hoping that at some point I'll be able to save up for a heavier TQ
Depending on which hammock I use, I do have one from Dream Hammocks with an overcover. Would you try to use the fleece over or inside of the TQ?
I'll have to keep an eye out for something like...
I don't own a puffy jacket but I do normally have a Nalgene bottle with me, at least when camping with the scouts.
