you can get the string led lights like ENO or the Big Agnes ones, unbranded at cvs or other drug stores around the holidays sold as "table lights" usually get real cheap after x-mas 2AA batteries...

go with the xl if you are over 5'10", and the old version of the bug net seems more robust
