+ 1 ....Superfly hits the sweet spot for me
Nice job...don’t worry, it will last FOREVER
I built two of them...one for the basement, and one for the backyard.

Great work...that looks fantastic!!!
I use a catch-all sack from Simply Light Designs for hammock, bug net, top quilt, under quilt, and under quilt protector,,,all fits in there nicely, and takes less than a minute. Then just cram it...
Very impressed with my set of UGQ zero degree quilts...they make a fantastic product!
I use them frequently with trekking poles on my Superfly ...so much better the way it opens up the tarp

I just hit 3 years in row with a backyard hang on a rainy night (yeah, my neighbors must think I’m nuts!)
This has been a fantastic way to get my kit dialed in. I have a virtual cornucopia of gear...
The answer is yes...I have no problem with overheating when using a zero degree underquilt in 40 - 45 degrees, or even warmer.
IMHO, the 0 degree UQ is very versatile
For me, I’ve found that 2 sets of quilts cover all my needs in the Great Lakes area. A 40 degree set, and a zero degree set in my case.
Based on the temp range you’re talking about, a 40 degree TQ...
179986Got my #26 in on Feb 29th...A leap year hang! Just a back yard hang for me too, but I do love hearing all the trains, trucks on the turnpike, dogs barking, etc. Get’s me in touch with my inner...
Maybe an under quilt with a new suspension system altogether? Kind of along the lines of Leviola’s idea with stretchy tapered ends (as opposed to primary and secondary shock cord suspension) for fool...
I am sold on the Superfly. I’ve got a handful of tarps, but since I got the Superfly, the others have not seen any use except as loaners. I really appreciate the overall size and cut of the tarp, and...
Looks great Dutch. I have definitely become a “bigger is better” kind of guy when it comes to tarp coverage, and, Sil-Poly hits the sweet spot as far as the performance/weight/value equation at least...
I am pretty happy with just 2 sets...40* (Hammock gear Econ set), and 0* UGQ set. Seems to cover everything comfortably. 40* set all summer, and down to the mid 40’s. Lower than mid 40’s the zero set...
This is actually a great idea and I think I’ll add a netless hammock to my winter kit. I always throw in my 1 lb Klymit insulated pad in winter just in case as well. I always carry a couple extra...
Nice kit, and the photos in your album and great! Got to spend some time with parents, and still carve out a little adventure for yourself...sounds like a perfect visit to me!
Will 1/8” Amsteel CL’s fit through the hole in these buckles? I know the standard is 7/64ths, but I use the slighter thicker 1/8” on my hammock ends.
Thanks!
I had two piece mesh snakeskins, and just sewed them together...took maybe 5 minutes. Now it works perfectly as a one piece sleeve...much better, and really a simple project

Mine is the vented winter version (Picture below) This is thing is nice (as evidenced by the huge smiley face it makes in the photo below :) ), and the vented strip makes a huge difference in...
Glad to hear you and your rig weathered the storm! I’d love to see photos of the tarp ends configured as you describe.
I just saw these at costco today. It says they are made using primaloft “black”...whatever that is

I agree. I just put line locs on my Superfly...love ‘em! 2.5 mm Lawson Glowire works great with line locs 3’s
I Ike hammocks any which way! No net, Fronkey style, integrated...all good!
BUT, I must say I really dig the integrated, zippered net, especially a modular system where you can swap the net for a...
That does look pretty sweet! No claustrophobia going on under that thing!
Bought some of the new 2.5 mm Glowire, and it works great with the line loc 3’s.
And WOW! We are talking LIGHT SABRE bright! Very happy with this stuff. Got some his heavy duty TI stakes too and...
I’m in for #3
Thanks!
I am side sleeper in my bed, side to side all night. Once in a great while I can sleep for short periods on my back in bed, but always end up rolling on to my side. However, in my Chameleon, I have...
Actually, I do the same thing...take my Superfly every trip. i was just making the point that a rectangular tarp in DCF would provide a lot more protection than a hex, with very little weight...
Whoa! This is a great piece of work right here! You accepting orders???:)
Pics of the custom length catch-all sack. Fits perfect....exactly what I wanted with “loop to loop” coverage.
Jared/SLD = SIMPLY AMAZING!
I can GUARANTEE I will be ordering additional items from...
I agree...this pillow is definitely the Goldilocks pillow. JUST RIGHT!
I’ve had the same pillow quest that some of you had, including a Dutchware pillow, inflatable pillow, various throw pillows,...
Don’t get me wrong, a version with doors is great to have in the arsenal too, especially for cold weather. But for summer, I’d rather have a rectangular version. DCF is so stinking light that it...
Personally, I think that a plain ole rectangular DCF tarp would really hit the sweet spot. DCF tarps in general are a wee on the narrow side, so the Hex tarps leave you feeling a little vulnerable to...
73 and muggy right now, but supposed to drop to about 67 I think.
The granddaughter lasted about 15 minutes before she wanted to go in the house, LOL...That’s okay though, we’ll try it again.
Probably just some marshmallows over the fire...and maybe some not too scary ghost stories!
Pulling the edges out a couple inches is the culprit. I would try just re-tying the gather without pulling the ends. Should fix your issue. I have decided I would much rather have the edges a little...
My Granddaughter has been pretend camping for long enough, so I promised her i would take hammock camping when she turned 6. Well the time has come! Little back yard camp out tonight will be a lot of...
So, I ended up sending it back to Jared to modify it. I asked him to add 20” of finished length to my 9 foot version. Awesome that he is willing to do that, and at a very reasonable price! I’ll post...
i was thinking the same thing (asking him about a customer job). The more I look at it, I still think the 10 foot will be a little shy of end to end coverage
Excellent...thanks!
Thanks for the replies...I get all that, as I already have a shorter DIY version I have used for some time...I just want full coverage for the hammock ends, and the ability to deploy the catch all on...
Just ordered a 9 foot catch-all hammock/quilt sack as an upgrade to my thrown together DIY model.
First time ordering from SLD, and quality is great and service is fantastic!
I ordered the vented...
This is really cool! I uploaded an image and played around with it but could seem to crop it or center the desired portion of the photo on the pillow. I was using an iPad, so not sure if that might...
Thanks for the head up on this! Just ordered a 50 foot hank to try this out, and ordered some lineloc 3’s on loops from z packs to install on my tarp corners.

I use a pipe stand on the deck, as well as in the yard.
The Chameleon is a great hammock! I have both asym and symmetrical bugnets, and symmetrical winter top. For bugnet, I prefer the symmetrical, even though i never switch the direction of my lay. i...
