New blue, Nylon Tarp-Poncho features a seam taped hood with 3-panel hood construction and a wide brim. Made of lightweight but durable 70 denier nylon with fully taped seams, it's designed to fully...
For sale is what I believe to be a Nimblewill Nomad's Wood Burning Stove. It was sold to me, by a forum member to be a gargriller so I could be wrong.
It includes the case and 2 ground stakes

When you put your legs out of the hammock, in a sitting position, do your feet touch the ground?
What I do is I walk backwards, while sitting. This allows my feet to get directly under my body to...
If you already have a bug net, my first thought would be to repair it. It would be much easier to sew a patch onto the bug net and cheaper, than to sew an integrated net onto your hammock. An...
Sounds like you played it safe, going to your car. Which was probably the right call given the conditions. How strong were the winds?
What's the purpose of the little loop that the ridge line runs through
The search function is a wonderful tool ;)
****, I knew that I was doing something wrong all this time.
Time to bust out the dress and heals, and hope the wife doesn't come out to the garage :boggle:
I have considered this, but haven't done it yet. I am waiting to do it when I create my next tarp. I plan on having about 2 foot of netting attached to the bottom of the tarp. This would allow me to...
Yall's Dutch addiction has just started. Welcome to the dark side lol
Once you try it and do it you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner
Zippers are easy to sew on. The hardest part for me is putting the zipper pulls on.
Slugbait, that sounds just like a regular zipper and not a separating zipper. A separating zipper would be able to come completely a part in 2 sides and not be attached at one end. For example, a...
So I hate when I want to sit in one of my hammocks and the edge of the hammock digs into the back of my legs/knees. So tonight I set out to salve this issue. Introducing the bridge hammock chair...
I like zippers, I also have it on my winter tarp. I just wish that I could make my own length of separating zippers.
Thanks for the gif gargoyle, I always wondered how the sewing machine did the stitching
Last night I made 2 new diy items, a sap sack for the tree straps and a stake/strap organizer.
Looks like you won't find them and wouldn't want to hang with them if you had them or find them
Got to love the response from the source
Check out dutch's site. If I were to buy more line it would be the reflectix
There is an un-official hammock merit badge.https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/73149-CLOSED-Third-amp-Final-Round-Unofficial-BSA-Hammock-Camping-Merit-Badge-Group-Buy
There is also...
That is a good idea with the bug net pullout. I also liked your idea about the modified porch mode. I think that I will have to try it when it is windy, which is all the time.
All clear in sector 7

Have you checked the bobbin tension?
All the vendors make good hammocks with different features and price ranges. Just make sure that you test it out a couple of times before heading out on your trip
Any pictures?
This is how I hung in my garage. I'm a bigger guy, 6-1 240#, so I was concerned about hanging from one 2x4. So what I did was put some extra 2x6's together and span it across two...
My oldest son is 3 and I have not been camping with him, but I would feel comfortable with him in a hammock as long as he was under the same tarp as me. I guess it all comes down to how comfertable...
I really like the idea of noseeum mesh for the tarp sack as well, but I would be worried about being to rough on it and tearing it. As for the fabric, I would try the .67 and 1.1 ripstop nylon and...
What type of camping are you looking at doing, car camping or back packing?
can you give any additional information about the tarp?
The no sewing or poking holes is the tough part. My first idea was to put a little bag at the head end, like the bugnet bag that is at the foot end. But given your limitations, my idea is a no go :(
Congrats on the good time with your son. I can't wait for my kids to get a little older to do the same
There are a few people who have done this. Please search for smokehouse and/or hot tent
Come on guys!!! At least use a plastic bag from an outdoor retailer and not a grocery store.
Even a hillbilly can show a little class lol
The tarp looks good. Is one side rectangle and the other side a triangle? Or is it just my eyes playing tricks on me?
Glad that it worked out for him. I have undone a buried end before, but never the whoopie part. But figured it was the same principle.
