Best of luck and enjoy your time on trail
I appreciate the update. Hopefully they’re up and running in the near future because the OCD in me is freaking out. Like a dope I only ordered 50’ so had to rig my Thunderfly with both blue and red...
We’re all thinking alike. I too have a Darien and 11’ DCF HG Standard. Just order a ridgerunner though with a Thunderfly, curious if I sleep better in a bridge
Ended up ordering the blue from Go Hunt. Better I have cordage to rig up the Thunderfly then obsessing about a color. There were 8 left when I ordered.
Good on you, best of luck!
will you be documenting on YouTube?
I use it for everything, very easy to rig up and even with king CRL does not tangle.
Found one website GoHunt that has 50’ of blue 2mm
I know I should just buy it but was waiting for green.
Good to know. Hopefully they’re moving to bigger and better. I like knots so zing it doesn’t really do it for me.
Bought a new Warbonnet Thunderfly today and read to outfit it with a Lawson Glowire CRL and guy outs. However everywhere I check they’re sold out of it? Anyone know if this is just run of the mill...
Ha! Well that answers that. Just got these poles as well they were on sale.
Curious if anyone is aware of any 2023 Appalachian Trail thru hikers on YouTube using a hammock?
For sure on the bucket list at some point in the future.
Countrybois curious if this solution worked long term?
Genius idea.
You guys are the best, it’s amazing the wealth of knowledge on this forum, hope to give back soon.
CMoulder looks your first route is right on target, and thank you for the site suggestion.

I do like that’s it’s a quick 40min away, and next year hope to get up to the Adirondacks I love or possibly the Catskills. What’s the area you like most?
After months of waiting for my kit to come together I’m ready to add an overnight to my hikes through Harriman State Park. Did a reconnaissance trip through Bald Rocks last week and found the area...
I know many a golfer who have the same approach to finding their ball in the woods!
So I was setting up my hammock for the first time and tying untying the Glowire guylines as I learned what worked.
I unattached the guy line from the Lawson HD shepherd stake in the ground. ...
Happy to say that after what felt like forever my Darien finally arrived! It was fun to get her the straps and cordage and tarp I had stashed away the past few months and finally put everything...
Hi Nanok this is exactly what I’ve been looking for as I use Glowire. Do you have any in depth how tos of how to make that alternative version? My ideal setup is 2mm Lawson prusicked to CRL and...
From what I’ve seen on comparisons it’s the bulk of spider poly not weight where I feel there are probably better options. I’ve decided on the hybrid straps from Jeff Myers, thank you all for the...
So I’m piecing together my setup and am pretty set on using lightweight straps. I like the notion of being reasonable lightweight and there’s something about tying knots that’s also appealing.

This is why I love this forum, good points by all. The Smurfs are away this week but I will be sure to give them a ring soon.
If between hammocks, my guess would be the single zipper (Darien) vs dual (Sparrow). If the net and overcover, I assume the fabric weight vs. bug net.[/QUOTE]
According to their hammock...
I knew another set of quilts was in the cards but will start to work my way down as I get more seasoned.
Hey everyone! First off I can’t thank this forum enough for all the amazing information I learned while I was lurking and absorbing as much info as I could about hammock backpacking.
I’ve...
Is the 1.1 and .9 a measure of thickness?
Cmoulder I asked this question on Dutch’s Q+A on the site the other day. They said they’re reweighing their quilts and will update site. I also thought it looked weird that “ultralight” only meant...
I’m intrigued by the bonded xenon with doors as well as a cheaper and more opaque version of a DCF w doors. Dutchware also has an “ultralight” version but the specs make it seem like you’re only...
I like your style. This is exactly the type of trips I’m looking for near Northern NJ to get nights out in the woods.
Shug, Ive always loved your videos and now I learn you’re a true NY’er! I def need to read up on hammock spots near Northern NJ
