There is good hiking and mountain biking trails in croom.
Just checking in. I am one of the original testers. I have been full time sleeping in my big guy bridge well over a year now. I am 6’3” and 315 lbs. it has been a life saver for me. I have back and...
Double tap and myself are not going to make it.
Well it’s looking like a late hike in on Friday for me. Leaving short somewhere around 6 or so to make the bike in. Has anyone ever hiked in to hidden pond. Is it allowed? I can’t wait to see...
My leave time is somewhat dependent on double tap. He isn’t a morning person but summer heat might be enough to get him out of bed and to my house early. I will follow up closer to the hang.
I am hoping to make it. If I can I plan on being there on the 20th and hiking in on short or Pat’s island.
Did you use a standard length or a long on the incubator?
I would like that option. It is real buggy hear if Florida at times, but when the wind kicks up the bugs tend to stay away. I would love a easier way to deploy the bug net.
Well I am still full time hanging in my bridge. I am 6’2” and weight in at 320. I toss and turn all night. I always have. The biggest learning curve is learning how to roll over. The hammock is rock...
Well Peppy I hope things turn around for you and you
Get to hang a little more. Lol. I am fortunate to say I have hung every day this year. And over half of last year.
I am 300lbs and have a hammock from Bill. It is the best. I sleep daily in mine and have done for over 6 months. Best hammock I’ve ever been in by far. And when I backpack yes I pack it it. Comfort...
This would have been a great poll
George is great to work with at Locolibre. My saver series underquilt is amazing! Only thing I would have changed is I would have added 2 oz of over stuff. I sleep way too cold now a days.
Just a quick update on the best way to hang your under quilt. I have read where several of you have been tryin to use the pole tips or the small loop of cord at the end of the polls. My advice would...
I have quilts from 5 cottage vendors, and I have to say that George’s quilts are my favorite. I wanted to check everyone’s stuff out. And I have concluded I will plan my purchases more thoroughly in...
So here is my next question for the collective. I full time hammock sleep. I have recently moved from indoors to my back porch. I have been using a down uq. I live in Florida, this time of year there...
Just can’t take that quilt as cold as I thought I could. I guess I need more quilts. Lol
Well it’s 65 tonight and I’m wearing a light pajama pants and t shirt and sleeping in the synthetic and it is comfortable.
I definitely seem to sleep cold nowadays. Makes sense that I am not comparing apples to oranges.
It hasn’t been washed. I am beginning to think it is more of the fact that I am a restless sleeper. And the more I more around the more I let the warm air out. With the down it feels warm faster.
It isn’t stored at all. I have used it daily for over the past month.
I am comparing a year old synthetic to a new down. I have been sleeping full time with the synthetic for over a month now. If synthetics wear out that could be the cause of the temp difference. I did...
I think what is going on is on the synthetic quilt the inner layer of fabric is contacting me, but there is a gap between the fabric and the insulation. Making me feel cold spots. On the down quilt...
The 20 deg synthetic is apex 6.0
So I have several topquilts. One is a 20 deg synthetic and on is a 20 deg down. The synthetic is from loco libre and the down is a hammock gear. Has anyone else noticed that there down seams way...
My status is now in production. Yea! I was watching ugq tv. I saw my quilt being made. Awesome!
I tried to love GE hammocks. I tried extra wide, extra long (12'), extra long and extra wide, all are a improvement to sleeping on the ground. But I still felt like something was missing. I was so...
I am going crazy checking the order status every day.
I am pretty excited. I have ordered my first piece of equipment from UGQ. Up till now most of my gear has come from SLD. I love all my gear and just can't help myself. I want to try new vendors.
I am looking to get a new top quilt. I live in Florida and do all of my hanging here. My under quilt is a 20 deg. I want a new top quilt and was t sure what temp to get. I would like to use it more...
Let's try to do a meet up and hike soon. I can make most weekends work for me. I am willing to drive within reason. I have done the hidden pond hang several times, and still consider myself a newb...
Title says it all. I live in hernando county and would like to find a hiking and backpacking partner.
I use the grand trunk skeeter beater for my kids 8 and 15. It works very well.
I am out. Double tap and I are car camping at mutual mine this weekend.
Not sure of my plans as of yet. I will check in when I know.
Yes that is the one next to the withlacochee trail.
There are 3 camp grounds at silver. All but one is closed. The one next to I75. I was there on Thursday. Very noisy next to the road.
Those are some steep claims. I think you need to send that quilt my way to verify all that was said. Lol. I have one of George's quilts and I am try to wait patiently for the status to change on my...
I am going to second you reaching out to justbill. He is the creator of the Townsend luxury bridge hammock. I am 6'3" and 300 lbs, and I use one of his bridge hammocks as a full time hammocker. I can...
3 weeks ago I went full time sleeping in my hammock. The first week was bliss, no back pain any more. Starting week 2 the back pain started back, not only did it come back, but I started having very...
As the title says, what do you recommend and why? I know I want a 3/4 20 deg quilt, I am on the fence about down or synthetic. I currantly have 2 other synthetic quilts, one full length 20 deg and...
I am on night 3. Best sleep I've had since my last camping trip. Wife isn't trilled either, but her back bothers her in the bed, so she understands. She's not willing to go hammock full time though.
I'm a maybe. Got to check the wife's school schedule.
As far as the poles popping out I made a dog bone out of shock cord, I hook one end on the tip that protrudes from one side of the hammock and stretch it over the spreader poles and hook it to the...
How far apart are your turtledog stand legs when deployed. My stand has 7' long legs and I want to limit how far apart the legs can go. So how far apart are yours and why.
I am looking to find a place to hang near Tallahassee, Fl. On Sunday night. I am driving through the area and need a place to put the hammock up for the night. Not needing anything more than a...

Thanks a lot Oz had to get on on the way home.
I am hoping to do the pats island hike this year. Not sure of time yet.
Lord willing and the pond rises, I will be there. It's been too long.
Well I needed to get to the woods, even if it was for just a quick over nighter. I have been testing a Townsend luxury bridge and I have nothing but the best things to say about it. I am 310 lbs and...
