Theosus, correct when it's cold I just wear a fleece hat. The Burrow does have a collar of sorts around the head end. Also a snap and drawcord to sinch up around your neck if you want. Peace

For what it's worth I slept in my Blackbird for the first time using my BMJ and of course it rained for a few hours .fairly hard at times. The tarp performed perfect ! I was very impressed.
