What year did you graduate, if you don't mind me asking
As MAD said, using a sleeping bag is definitely a TQ option if funds are tight. I'd also suggest looking at Loco Libre. They have quality synthetic TQ's for very reasonable prices. I have one &...
Looks like a perfect Halloween spot!
Well it shows it should be on my porch when I get home. Now we wait again until I get a chance to get out & use it!
Well more & more I can see why the post office is struggling to stay in business. My stuff left CO on the 19th, made it to TX on the 21st. Then it apparently got lost for a few days & didn't leave...
This past summer I just used an old bed sheet. I didn't need it for warmth but I seem to sleep better with something on top. I'm planning on getting a liner soon so I'll probably use that
I got my notice Monday & it was supposed to be here today. But as of today it shows still in Texas with no movement since last night, pretty sure today isn't going to happen!
Piney Flats for the win!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It didn't happen. Some folks ended up having to do other stuff & the creeks were still dry
Warbonnet & Underground Quilts both have RR specific quilts. Arrowhead Equipment has a RR specific 3/4 quilt.
That's all I got!
Still waiting

A solid perimeter about 20' out from my hammock usually does the trick. Just make sure they are pointed away from you

Welcome from just down the road
Who do you work for Quishy?
I just talked to a friend whose family owns a few restaurants up there. They lost 1 for sure & possibly 3-4 more. They were there all night feeding firefighters & he said they are thinking this...
I wasn't planning on ordering anything but the more I eyeballed the RR the more I just HAD to have it! So a few key strokes later & now, like a 6 year old kid on Christmas Eve, I am impatiently...
And Dutch Nation grows by 1!!
I went to college about 10 minutes from Swannanoa but I don't remember any waterfalls in the immediate area. But that's been a while & my memory sucks. You may have to go Asheville or closer to...
I didn't know Rafting Tigger was a female, my apologies if you were offended
I wondered the same thing so I posted it in his thread & this was his response-
"That is the Handy Hammock, just taken over by a different company. They proceeded my NoGround poles and have a...

I'm not sure I'll be in town that weekend but here are few links that may help folks not familiar with the park.

I got my Jalapeno Pepper a few weeks ago & had it out in the piney woods a few nights this week & it definitely lived up to expectations. It only got down to the upper 60's the first night &...
Thanks for the info guys. I think this is what SilvrSurfr was getting at & I understand what he was saying now. I never thought about feeding the hammock through the bottom of the net. Thanks...
I'm not sure I follow you. My hammock has to slide through the Fronkey net. How do you get the hammock + UQ to fit through the small openings on the end of the Fronkey net?
I guess I need to learn top from bottom, mods please move to the UQ section!
Anybody got any tricks or tips to installing an UQ with a Fronkey style bug net? I have a Jacks R Better Mt Washington 3 going on a Dutch 11' with a fronkey net from Dutch. I haven't tried it yet...
I wanted to revive an old thread to see if anybody had any recent experience with the rucksack. They seem very affordably priced for the size but are they even worth the low price or is this one of...
Weather Channel says the low tonight will be 72 with 80% humidity. Nothing like a built in sauna right outside your door
You hear those two terms in the same phrase & you don't think of a 1970's Ron Jeremy flick
Well I have a double layer that I ordered on 6/18 & the inside layer was Hexon 1.6 blaze orange. I don't see that color listed as an option anymore so I don't know if that is discontinued or if they...
Thanks Hillbilly, that's what I needed
Anybody have any good video links for an install?
I ordered a Superfly Friday & it was on my porch today. That, IMHO, is simply awesome turn around. This was my first order from Warbonnet & without a doubt gets an A++.
That's all I got, just a...
I'll take it, PM coming
I ordered a Superfly yesterday morning & tracking shows it should be here Monday, wasn't expecting that kind of turnaround

I was in your same spot not too long ago & the choices can be overwhelming to say the least. One thing I would suggest is to go make an afternoon of watching Shug on Youtube. He won't tell you what...
I have Dutch buckles on straps & then the adjustable end of the whoopie is on the buckle & the fixed end is larks headed to the CL through the hammock end. I've never had them slip at all & between...
Thanks for the responses guys. Looks like I was trying to solve a problem that didn't exist!
Thanks for the response Tom. I'm the same, I can't sleep if I can't spread out a little. When I tent camp I use a cot & in the morning I'm usually spread out over the sides
Thanks for the responses Shug. I'll actually be using a sleeping bag until I get the $ for a TQ so we'll see how that works. And FWIW, I agree NC BBQ is the best! I used to live in WNC & it's still...
Well Shug, since I have your attention, you said you've never had any problems. Can you spread out any in a TQ? Have you not had problems because you can spread out somewhat or because you prefer...
Another one of your many skills!
The master has spoken!!!
I've been looking at a top quilt purchase but as I was lounging in the hammock today I was thinking that the top quilts I've seen are basically a mummy bag shape. When I'm in the hammock, I'm...
