I've got a couple of the new superfly's w/ the V shaved pull outs rather than the round ones. Do these need to be seam sealed?

Your original idea of the two biner method is the better option because you don't have to have a fly, split ring & piece of line permanently attached to the tarp or a hook attached to the line. Also...

Forget the carabiners & prusiks and use two dutch stingerz.

Or 1 biner and 1 stingerz...

I do it this way also but I use two Dutch Stingerz rather than biners. No prusik knots and both ends are adjustable. Works well

Originally I had planed to use a 3' length of shockcord on all my superfly doors.

One end acting as a hook with an s biner or mitten hook and the other end being adjustable with the 3mm shockcord...

Paranoia yeah that's it hahaha...

I like this method only because you get the V and can happily sit n swing without the hammock suspension interfering with the tarp. Getting to use Dutch's gizmos...
