Welcome to the Hobby! I used an inflatable pad for years before I got my underquilt. I had a Big Agnes bag with a pad pocket that helped to keep it from slipping around. It was extremely comfortable....

Sounds like the Shawnee National Forest would be right on your way. They would have dispersed camping. I looked at State Parks, etc., in Western Kentucky but didn't see anything that would work....

I used to be a stomach sleeper in beds, but now that I'm full time in a hammock, I sleep on my side. If I pull my knee up, it's supported by the hammock fabric on the side and kind of gives the same...
