Welcome aboard!
Hello and welcome and greetings from Saxony to Heidelberg!
Gremany? What‘s that? :D
Hi from the right side of the ocean. If you are interested in group hangs - there is a local www.haengemattenforum.de too.
Greetings from Germany over the big pond and back to Germany.
If this happens with my Wooki I open the zipper, reach out with my right hand, grab the Wooki and pull it under me again.
Diagonal lay and no calf rigde - he is talented. :)
Yes, it’s illegal in the core zone (Kernzone) of the natural park, the park rangers know their territory very well and it´s an expensive pleasure if you get caught.
But: ;) If they can‘t find you,...
The problem with camo tarps is the rectangular shape. You‘ll have to break the unnatural straight lines to be unvisible.
The shock cord prevents the rolled up tree straps from falling apart but you can use the Dutch buckles without it.
Hi, hello and welcome! It seems you are from Bavaria, right?
At first I couldn’t believe it won‘t collapse. So I build a model from wooden toothpicks and yes, it is stable. Ingenious!
Hallo from Saxony. Did you know about www.haengemattenforum.de?
Look, what Luke himself says about the story: http://www.hammocktent.com/en/pages/our_story
It‘s a win win situation. Congratulations to both of you!
If you don’t have a sewing machine, or skills to use it: do it old school and sew by hand. :)
Two hangemattenforum members here? Okay, I‘m the third. :)
Welcome abord, @droney!
Hi from Germany!
Did you know there is an UK Forum too?
No, it’s the same as the american Black Friday. It came over the ocean in 2013 and now we have an english named shopping day „Black Friday“.
But back to the topic. Thanks to the american tradition...
Turtle Ties and 1“ Venom UHMWPE Ultralight Tree Straps. It works.

The adjustment is as easy as with Speed Hooks or Loop Aliens. With some experience you can adjust the suspension by the millimetre.
I have no concerns with wear. The rope bending diameter is big...
I‘m very impressed. Don‘t hesitate and give them a try! You won‘t regret.
It has been a great advise, given from wise people. :)
Welcome abord!
Amsteel usually isn‘t a good choice for knotting. If you are afraid of slipping, try some other rope material. A combination of dyneema core and mantle made of something non-slippery might hold...
They are great shock absorbers and damage preventers too, if someone ist stumbling over your tie outs.
Did you ever order from dutchwaregear.com? Their international shipping rates are very fair.
I vote for green and red. Starboard - green and port side - red.
A different color for the head end is really a good idea.
I ordered some Turtle Ties and they are on the way to me. Can‘t wait to try them out. Hope they‘ll arrive just in time to our next group hang.
Dobro poshalovat'!
I see you own excellent equipment. It would be interesting to the community to hear about russian hammock manufacturers. Do you have to DIY or buy from foreign companies?
Don’t worry. Winter is coming soon. ;)
Interesting knot, thanks! I didn't know it before.
For those who is interested in knots: Here is an article about the Lapp knot.
Serdecznie witamy and greetings from Germany! :)
It seems the hang angle is much more then the recommended 30°. That may cause the problem.
To end up in your Christmas stocking? Oh no, that would be sad. They want to breath fresh air and love to end up at your guyline or tie-outs. ;)
Thank you Dutch! Yes, and thank you community for supporting all the small business hammock makers. But don't forget the hard working elves! Without them Dutch alone would never be able to satisfy us...
I second that. The Orange Screws work great with the Handy Hammock Stand.
And that's what Joe @ DD Hammocks said: "Sorry to have to disappoint, our Ultralight Hammock Stand has been discontinued. We may well look into offering a similar product again in the future however."
In 2017 Jason fromHandy Hammock Ltd. wrote in the newsletter
"For those of you still reading, I thought I'd let you know that my involvement in the Handy Hammock story has come to an end as I...
Same here. No problem with Nama Claws.
Of course you can make your own stuff sack for about 3$. No problem at all.
But if you want to live from making stuff sacks, pay taxes, pay the people who sell and ship them et cetera you will have...
Yes, it is possible. I've sewn an 3/4 down UQ to my DIY hammock and I'm very happy with it. No more fiddling, no more gaps with cold air finding a way between hammock and underquilt.
The only...
Really clever guys! They got the attention of our sewing queen. So give them, Jellyfish, what they are begging for - a free lesson of "How to make your own hammock and how to hang it the right way"!...
I think the fabric is to stretchy for you. Try a less stretchy one!
Hej and welcome and greetings from Germany!
Never change a working system! ;)
I use and like them for about a year. No problems with tearing at the line.
Adjustable ridgeline? That's the way I use a whoopie sling made from mason line.
Cool! I like the idea. Will try it.
