I made an overkill underquilt with 2 layers of Insultex, 2 layers of 5oz climashield, and it's 48 x 60. Completely warm to the mid 30's so far, but the bulk is just rediculous. I'm going to take it...

I made one out of 1.1 and it ripped. I'm 160lbs. Gave it to my girlfriend who weighs 125lbs. So far it works great for her.

Here is the finished product.

Final results are:

Dimensions: 70" x 48" (33" at foot)
Weight: 29.05 ounces (33.95 in event stuff sack)
Lofts up after stuffing to 2.5" over 5 minutes.

Cost: $150 for Climashield & Momentum 90. Enough material for 2 layers of insulation for a top quilt and under quilt.

Insultex has yet to prove adequate for me. I am using it on the Underquilt, which will also have 2 layers of Climashield between the two layers of Insultex.

I ran into a snag with the quilt. The tension on my machine was to low, and I'll have to seam rip and redo the bottom grosgrain part (what a PITA). It's kinda ugly right now.

I'll use Insultex as a single layer. It's warmer against the skin than the Momentum90, and it won't pill or fray like the Climashield.

What loft does your kit measure? My Climashield only lofts to about 1.5". I'm thinking doubling it to 3" would effectively lower a similar quilt to 5-10F comfort rating.

As for Primaloft vs...
