You're all ears?? I hope you read the WHOLE thread. How about the 2.5mm glowire you told me you'd have in stock soon...... LAST February!!

Having made more than a few soft shackles, continuous loops are much easier to splice. I would remove the CL and splice one in the end channel, if you don't like it cut it off.
I honestly don't remember, they're all setup this way. I tried this based on a thread here many years ago and liked it enough to continue rigging this way. Integrated loops keep the end from cinching...
On the streamliner (cat cut) this definitely makes a difference, not sure about the trail lair
"The ends have a 3" deflection, while the sides have a 5" on each side." You are correct, convex on the ends concave on the sides
At one time he had a picture of the hammock body on the site.
The info you need is here, read on

About the worst that will happen is it might slide off your shoulder. If that happens loosen it slightly until it stays in place
Upgrade up that primary! You can't adjust an UQ by measuring and looking at it won't help much either. Have your wife put her hands between the quilt and the hammock, when she feels a cold spot have...
And how do these quilts and blankets you've been making for decades keep you warm on a cot in a tent? When you get a cold spot during the night, what causes that?
Do you understand how insulation works, mainly hammock insulation??
If they don't work for their intended purpose, what makes you think they'll keep you warm as an UQ??
In those conditions, without a breeze to move the moisture away, you're going to get condensation regardless of tarp material. Opening up the tarp, think porch mode, can help some.
Are you planning a hang Papa Smurf?? Might get me, and maybe a few others, to head down that way.
"Gotta Finda Tree Hang" had a nice ring to it! It will be fun! Be like the first ever Shack hang with everyone looking to claim "their" spot. Maybe a first annual "Stands in the Pine Plantation @ Da...
Also don't forget, especially with the number expected to attend, of you're sick or not feeling well STAY HOME!! Hopefully we all remember the lessons learned from covid...
Get this one in SilPoly XL

You can thank me later:shades:
A hike? Most definitely. Your "guided tours" are always enjoyable!
About time you make it official:tongueup::lol:
A little early in the month for cold, relatively speaking, weather and snow :tongueup::lol: You know we'll be there regardless
They brought em back!!
Did you get a short by mistake?? Assuming your have the correct length, your butt should be at the transition of the leg shelf ensuring your shoulders are covered. On the diagonal you'll have much...

I&M Canal in Channahon
IL Beach State Park in Zion, I think they close Dec 31?
Chain O' Lakes State Park in Spring Grove
Your 9' stand is the limiting factor, you're stuck with a 10.5' hammock at best. Depending on your height I would go as wide as you can. Contact Jared at simply light designs, a streamliner in an XL...
Skriddle on the 2 burner. I'll stop on my way and get bread & butter, maybe some eggs & bacon too
I would plan on 10 or so total attending. There are about 4 more, 2 for sure, that haven't responded here. There's always PLENTY of food at Da Shack so don't be overly concerned about feeding...
Sounds like a potluck Saturday lunch??
Hmmm, haven't made gumbo since way back when...191290

Yessir, it's been much too long....and way too hot!
Tarp in snakeskins and find a line that doesn't knot so you don't need to wrap them. I only wrap my RL's, guylines get thrown in the snakeskins as I gather up the tarp. My go to used to be Lawson,...
Could go this route too

I'm right handed but slept either way until I was forced to choose when ordering a hammock. Head right/feet left, which I believe is left lay in dream hammocks, because I hang with my feet to the...
For an entry level I'd suggest either of these

Secondary suspension has nothing to do with your sagging problem and will do nothing to fix it. I would replace the primary shock cord and get it adjusted correctly. If you still have head to foot...
Typical for this guy, I seem to remember a certain "mostly flat" portage not long ago....
Why not spend a few more bucks and get one of these? https://simplylightdesigns.com/collections/hammocks/products/streamliner
Email or call Jared and he'll take care of you....almost as fast as...
Get 2 hammocks, hang em side by side. 2 large trees with straps coming off opposite sides or 3 trees with a shared foot or head end. 2 people in a hammock just doesn't work, many have tried very very...
Always a great time at Da Shack!! Many thanks for putting up with me again
This is the stuff, made briefly a long time ago.

NO!!! There has never been a shortage of food at Da Shack. Usually end up tossing leftovers. Bring a beverage to share if you feel the need to contribute.
I'm gently nudging this thread on an effort to bring more attention to this wonderful gathering while not offending an overly sensitive, and possessive, individual. No one in particular mind you,...
62" for me, same height. Tried 64", to wide for my taste
Cliffy what are your dimensions?
👆👆 bumping, for the same reason as that guy 👆👆
I'm moving on, I think they have too. This is playing out similar to OES tarps, excuses and delays. At least Lawson hasn't taken anybody's money for product we may or may not see.
Update on the...
A liner definitely works. I've used a fleece one in deep winter (well below 0°F) with good results. Nothing is more user friendly than quilts rated for the temps your in, but the longer will do until...
Yeah, I had to look up a couple of those words!:scared::lol:
To add to silentorpheus's edit, most of the hammocks I see out and about are of the mass produced variety. Day loungers with the...
Why not Beckett Hitch on the traditional manner, tree strap to CL? Weight difference between the length of amsteel and strap is minimal with the right strap material. You're probably using longer...
My point exactly! I think you just worded it better
