I have a Xenon Winter Haven, and it's basically perfect. Besides, Xenon actually IS a polyester fabric, so I'd say it's a no brainer!

Thanks Tikker! I've been enjoying it.
When it's too warm for my HG 20 deg UQ, I use one of the $20 Bed Bath & Beyond down quilts. I attach 3 tarp clamps on either side and hang it like an UQ. Works like a charm and packs up to the...
Yup, the ridgepole is the same chain link fence top rail that lots of other folks have used, but because I wanted the stand to be more portable, I had to buy 3 lengths instead of 2. (one end of...
Front Royal was great! Terrific weather on the banks of the Shenandoah. Also spent a night in Broad Run. Hope you and your daughter get out on the AT sometime, it's on my list too.
Thanks...
Thanks Robin! It was some stuff I happened to have laying around. It's actually WAY heavier than necessary, but it worked out well. It's 2" x 2" Square aluminum tube with a wall thickness of .25"....
Thanks Rekoob. We'll see how long it lasts! As a matter of fact, I'll be taking it on the road down your way this weekend. Not quite to Norfolk...I'll be stopping at Front Royal.
Thanks, Sluggo!
Thank you! I don't mind a HEAVY PACK, but this might be pushing it! Although it would be great on the kayak...
Jut spent my first night in my new turtle dog. I wanted something that was easier to take with me (in my truck). I definitely wouldn't want to carry it anywhere too far!...
Yup, that's me. Plenty of room in the 13' Winter Haven! Jared knocked it out in a hurry too!
Hahahahaha! I love this! My kind of folk.
In warm weather I string them up in the yard on the soccer goal, that works great!
In the winter I have to get crafty.
I don't have a garage and the shed makes everything smell like gasoline,...
[QUOTE=MrsKD;1736478]It will be. [emoji4] already touched base with two girlfriends to spend next weekend in the woods. One is a newbie to hanging so we will be able to guide her through the warm...
The coffee "hootis" is a definite luxury item. It's heavy, doesn't pack well and it's a bit fragile, but it makes UNBELIEVABLE joe. It's actually an espresso maker, and it make tremendous espresso...
Oh no, poor puppy! Got to take care of the poooches, they'd do anything for us! Hope your next hang is better!
You won't be sorry. I agree, Jared is great to work with, he's knowledgeable and a true craftsman. Good luck with your new Winter Haven!
Good Morning!

Howdy Luke. Another Rick, but a bit further North in CT. Welcome to HF!

I have a couple of keltys and haven't gotten wet yet. I don't use them all the time, but they've definitely seen some...
Wow! We CT Hangers are few and far between! Welcome to HF from Hamden!
Thank you, Grumpy.
...And Thank you, Carl! I was trying to figure how to respond to Grumpy's post, and you nailed it.
Very well said. I've done the same thing (just sitting in the dark) but I'll admit, I still get a bit creeped out at times.
I keep earplugs with me now and if I get hyper sensitive to the noises, I...
I've got a Xenon (Poly) tarp that's straight-cut and I have no problem getting a nice tight pitch.
Welcome From Connecticut! A hammock is SO much better that a 1 man tent! ...or any tent, really.
The site looks great, Chad! Good luck!
Thanks Mr. Maple! It's yours to run with.
Thanks! I saw this thread and picked up two on thurs. They are certainly on the thin, under-stuffed side, but I was looking for something I could use in warmer weather. Perfect!
Welcome aboard, Bearcat! I've got some family that moved out to Utah. Visited there a couple of years ago, quite different from CT, nice country. I'd love to try a hang out that way. (If they don't...
Welcome to HF from CT, LB! Hmmm...that's a lot of letters.
Ok Paypal done. I would have bought it sooner if you smiled in the pictures.
Thanks for the info. I did a little internet snooping and I think this is actually the Alibi jacket. I was able to get measurements for the medium along with some other info and it seems like this...
I don't have Monday off, But I'll be hanging in the forest tomorrow night under the stars! Going to wake up on Sunday and make some real espresso in my new GSI 4 cup espresso maker. Works GREAT...
What?! Fiddle??? I've never fiddled in my life. Well, maybe a little.
You are a sage individual, Campdavid!
Watch out for the squirrels! They are very tame from people feeding them and will pester you for food...They're so dang cute though.
Went there on my honeymoon over 20 years ago, we didn't want...
If I did it the easy way, suspect an imposter. That ain't how I roll!
Thanks Korse!
Hahaha...why do you think it's a problem??? And Thanks!
Besides all of the excellent reasons previously stated so eloquently by my forum friends, let's not forget the plain utility and versatility of the hammock. It gives you options. I can hang a...
How long have you had this? It's a bit different from the new one.
I like the features a lot, I'm just a bit concerned about the fit. I'm just about the same size and weight as you, is it...
I just put 2 long screws (Timberlock) in the bottom right through the carpet into the sub-floor. Honestly, it probably would have been fine without them because I'm attaching my suspension fairly...
Howdy neighbor! I'm right across the sound in CT. I'm on the ferry to visit family in L.I. all the time. Welcome to H.F.!
Thanks! Hahaha  The curse of an artist; no room left to hang paintings on the wall, so...paint the wall!
Originally I was going to make them out of wood, probably oak or maple, with some eye bolts, (I still have a sketch, I think) but then I decided that the aluminum would be a more simple design. The...
Hi Rae! Welcome from CT!
I dig the kickstarter thing; I've backed a few and haven't been disappointed, but these don't do it for me....seems kinda "anti-woodsy?"
Actually, because there is no ridgepole needed, you can hang right under a ceiling fan. I'm not sure if you can see it in the pic, but there's a fan there. The brackets and rope hold the trunks as...
hahaha! Oh, I never wear a bra in the hammock! That's my HG Cuban organizer...I didn't neaten it up for the pic.
Thanks John!
