Ridge line?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I got a report from a guy at work that there was quite a bit of snow. I was hoping to go but I need to be in town for my wife as her friend died in a car accident and her funeral is tomorrow. Have...
I may be flying that way in the next week and will let you know. We got some snow last week. I think about a foot or two on Casper mtn. I am guessing we got that in medicine bow
It's been really warm in Casper the last week with exception of the one 30 degree day. I think the last couple days we have been close to 80
I really like the stuff sack as a ridgeline organizer idea. That is genius! I am going to sew some loops on mine. Great hammock.
It will be close. I know this side of the state has not gotten as much snow as the Eastern but I will know for sure because the 9th I am going on a bear hunt above 11k on the eastern side of the...
Not of the area specifically. I live in Casper and lived in Laramie before that. Odds are it may still be snowing. We just got a couple inches yesterday. I flew over that area last week and there was...
Chad I would be interested. I will double check my schedule but I believe I am free that weekend.
I support. Hockey playoffs take most of my time this year. Who were you watching?

I like the looks of it to be honest. I did a similar suspension on my Costco quilt.
Still hoping someone is getting rid of some hardware or rope.
Looking for a continuous ridgeline and tie outs for my 13' tarp. Just feeling the waters before purchasing.
Thanks! It's super comfy.
I use a 3 season ae white cloud now. Most of my hanging is in the summer to fall. In the fall we have seen -30 so I try not to hang in that cold. Sadly that's when I take the rv or the tipi with...
Thanks Shug. I think I watch your videos for different purposes every time.
How does the shock cord do in wind? I just envision the wind stretching and having the tarp flap
Honestly not sure. I got it at Hancock fabrics before they closed.

Well it's finally a nice day without 60+ mph wind and snow so I got a chance to put up my hammock and uq I built. Sewing on both is not the best but functional. Thanks to hammock forums for showing...
If your willing to separate the fleaz let me know
I will take the winter haven without poles
Maybe a New tarp?
Trees are going to be hard to find. Every place around me is booked including rv parks. Most city parks are even charging I heard. My wife and I are considering rent the house and camper out for the...
As for your bag that you purchased. I don't have any experience with it or the company but a couple years ago I did the exact same thing you did as far as buying a set up. I learned that you get what...
I am curious to see what everyone uses or has a tarp made from. Is xenon more popular than silpoly? Is paying the extra for xenon or Cuban fiber? Let's hear what your tarp is made of.
Sounds like a hang event needs to occur?
Well this is exciting... I share a birthday with good ole Dutch. Happy birthday. Just ordered my for my first time from him last week. Many more orders to come.
Here are my top quilt, bottom quilt and hammock. I don't think it takes that much space but I do have a very large pack at 7k cu in. ...
I thought I would pack it all up and take a picture. In picture is my KAQ top quilt, hammock, and diy uq.

Thanks everyone. I had the chance to put it up in the yard last night for a little bit. I didn't get to stay in it for very long but the time I did it was super warm. Ideally I would like to try it...
I actually added .6 oz to each tube.

I ordered mine from Dutch and it holds. To resolve the pain about the Amstel hanging, I did similar to the above but just tied a loose known
I made this one for about $45. I haven't tested it yet but if I guessed it would be a 20 degree bag maybe a little lower.

Final weight with suspension. Kind of bummed it's not under 30 oz but for a diy quilt I think it went good. I am hoping to test it out in the thirties this week. ...
Stuffing begins.

I am finishing up an uq today that is made from two bed bed bath and beyond quilts. I added no see um baffles between the quilts and am hoping to get down to the 20s with it. I have a post in the DIY...

All done and ready for suspension and than stuffing. Hopefully I finish it up tonight
Very jealous. Have fun!
I don't believe those would work as you will be putting them under different loading conditions than designed. A simple force calculation could tell if it would work or not. I won't go all engineer...
Thanks for giving me more inspiration. I will continue to post up the progress. As of right now I have one baffle remaining. I messed up a couple of them and caught the fabric but it's my first DIY...
I am almost done with the baffles and than I will add the suspension channels, stuff with down and than test it out. I am hoping to come in at around 23 oz but we will see. Pictures below.

Yup that's my plan. I am hoping with that design to get down to 20 F. I am going to add about an ounce to each tube.

Thanks for the reply! I bought the new Arrowhead Equip top quilt and am DIYing a UQ. I am also have enought 1.9 ripstop laying around to do a hammock so that will be my next thing to tackle.
It's a great hat and easy to layer over. Plus it's warm and cool in summer. I wear mine all year round.
Nice video. I am guessing it's a first lite merino. Mine always does the same thing. I can't ever figure it out.

Yes I am. I cut the inner one down by 3 columns. The inner portion I did not remove the stitchings but added the baffles so that I can add down. All said and done I should get 3-4" of loft.

I hear your pain. I am just getting into hammock camping/backpacking and still have a lot to learn but I did learn that this is a lot more bulky than what I used last year. I came from pad, bivy,...

Did some more work tonight. Adding the no see um baffles.
