Thanks for sharing. Looked like a fun trip.
I loved the parts about cooking.
Want to buy now but have to wait to see the doored version first!
I have been using one for a few years in different hammocks and have not had any issues with it. I almost never unzip it and if I could do it over would probably get the one that is sewn as I don't...
No, we hiked Jones Gap Trail to Tom Miller to Raven Cliff to Foothills spur.
Went on a short trip last week with Swampfox and Muskrat to hike the Foothills Spur Trail and connect Jones Gap to Caesars Head to Table Rock State Park at the top of Sassafras Mountain. The first...
Have not tried this myself, but if you have continuous loops on your hammock maybe try to attach them directly to your MSH on one side and not use the whoopie at all. You will still have a whoopie on...
That was great, thanks for sharing.
Sams club packable down vest has become my favorite piece of gear. It's cheap, light, and packs down into its own pocket to make a perfect small pillow. Then in the morning you can unpack your pillow...
Got mine in the mail today, along with a bugnet, lightning fast shipping. Hexon 1.0, incredibly light and very compact in the stuff sack. Only a quick hang in the back yard so far but looking forward...
My first move towards hammock camping was an EE Revelation as well and I agree the straps on a pad are great. It did seam to take about 8 weeks for delivery if I remember correctly but it was a...
Thanks for sharing, great pictures. I love the hang next to the river, awesome looking spot.
Thanks Dutch, You are the man.
Hoping this will eventually be available by the foot.
Awesome trip, like others have said trips like this are the ones you and your boys will remember for a long time and it's a great way to validate your gear. I bet your next trip you all will have...
My thoughts exactly. Liked the video and the maps and effects where great but what about the hammocks? Those shelters looked cold and hard and mean!
Like the pictures and story, thanks for sharing. Sounds like a nice relaxing trip. That is quite the set up with the stone wall, tarp, and fire pit. Do I spot a couch of sorts in there?
Awesome video, thanks for sharing. Did you stash the canoe or have a vehicle staged? What was the song? I really liked it. Love the idea of hiking one way and paddling back.
This is a great map and its on sale:

Here is a spreadsheet that Swampfox and Muskrat came up with. It has a great breakdown of the days for a 5 or 8 day Westbound...
Ouch, that picture makes my toes hurt.
I hear ya brother!
Great to meet you on the trail Hickery. We had a blast but watching you and Shug is almost more fun.
I'm liking Other Guy and since it was bequeathed as such I hope it sticks.
Y'all should do a...
Will show the girls in the morning! And thanks for the trail name!
I vote Hickery stay. Muskrat hung in that same spot and it didn't fall on him.
Looking forward to part 2. You guys look like you have a great time out there. Thank you for sharing it with us.
rambotogo you are right about meeting Shug and Hickory. One of the guys that picked us up had not heard of them and when I asked to have a picture with them he said something along the lines of "What...
Thanks sidneyhornblower it is a beautiful trail.
Don't know about that stew Muskrat! But fall sounds nice!
Thanks Swampfox, me too.
Shotgunpapa, the pictures are in the video. It is really just a bunch of pictures rather than a video. I think a fishing/hiking trip is in order for the Chatooga...

FHT Day 0
Muskrat and I arrive at Table Rock State Park just after 2pm which is the check in time for campsites. There is a light rain as we set up tarps at our site which is just next...
I picked one up a couple weeks ago for $32. It is not for sleeping and will try to dump you out if you try laying down in it. But it is comfortable with room for 2 or 3 adults depending on how close...
Good luck Mecks! The Netty was my first hammock and still the only gathered end hammock I have slept all night in. I love it. Wish your family the best of luck and thanks for making such a fine...
Signed up! Looking forward to the growth of this site.
That's a purty spot. I like them Lord of the Rings rocks.
Loved your video thanks for sharing. I liked the unique camera angles you found. Beautiful views and great looking food!
TallPaul, just started watching your video and have to ask a question about how you filmed the beginning. Or get confirmation on what I think you did. Are you using a phone or camera on the end of a...
There is nothing better than waking up in a hammock nice and warm covered in downy goodness in time to watch the sunrise. Or at least see it getting brighter because you are surrounded by trees in...
Thanks for the video. What is the name of the song?

Porch mode.
Have shock cord on the tie outs with Dutch fleas, makes set up too easy.
I'll take it
Right on BanjoPicker. Thanks for the update and congratulations!
I have had the same problem with being too hot and the only solution I have found is to hang the TQ on the ridge line until I wake up cold and then pull it down to warm back up.
Mmmmm mossy. Subscribed.
Hello from Irmo. This site is the best. Check out the DIY Section if you are so inclined, it will really blow your mind.
This is a brilliant idea. I love how you DIY'd the entire set and kept it so inexpensive. Thanks for sharing. Any tips for making an UQP? Or is it as simple as it appears.
Banjopicker please update if you do hear word back about membership. Was looking to join up myself but will wait to see what happens with yours first.
Great video Swampfox. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to hiking this trail in the spring.
captaincoupal love the podcast, Shug is always entertaining. Listening to the Hennessy episode now and would like to offer some constructive criticism. When typing on your keyboard mute the mic. I...
