I use the wings and poles method as well. I like to be somewhere between just touching to about a foot or so beyond each of my hiking poles when I spread my wings.

I usually hang mine from a nearby tree, or else it sets on a small ground cover underneath my hammock. I have never even tried hanging it from the hammock suspension.

The last set I bought was from Gary ( @RSGary on here)at readystrap. Shipping was pretty quick. No problems.
