The only job of the mineral spirits is to thin the silicone for easy application I think. Also so you don't have huge globs all over, just a nice thin even layer. I may be wrong though.

I just reread your post, are you sure it's PU poly? 10oz is the normal weight for a good cotton canvas. Don't know much about PU poly, which to me sounds waterproof already since PU is a cheaper way...

Personally I would go with Z-Lite because you can always put it on the outside of your pack. That is if you can sleep comfortably with just a foam pad, I can't if the ground is hard enough.
