You could try this method. I used it with success some time back when experimenting, but didn't use it long-term.

8oz per pole does not seem exceptionally light to me. My Black Diamond aluminum poles are 9.5oz each. As Countrybois described, I think the intended load on a hiking pole catching your body weight in...
Look into the SLD Streamliner.
I've used the Peratex silicone windshield sealant w/ good success. Are you sure you have a silicone treated fabric and not urethane treated?

About 65" x 75" laid out flat. Sort-of a standard sleeping bag size. No odor that I can tell.
It's time to clear out the closet by getting rid of an old car camping rectangular down sleeping bag from the 1970s. I was planning to harvest the down, but lack the time/energy.
It's been...

Hammock has been delivered. Closing thread.
Sale pending to Stanada.
Bummer! If the fabric threads have simply been pushed aside to make an opening, then try holding the affected spot between finger and thumb and rubbing it around. The threads may move back into...
Price dropped to $120.
I bought this Hammocktent Gamma 90* UL from another HF member a few years ago. Tried it a few times at home but decided it wasn't for me. I've never had it outdoors. It's time to thin the herd. I...
I made a top quilt from a Costco Down Throw. I intended to use it by itself in very warm weather, but have had good success using it inside another top quilt to extend the cold weather range. Snaps...
Is there room for another to join? Looks like I can make it happen. I could bring some appetizers & a desert.
I've never used a Wookie, but would a 6" shock-cord extension make an 11' Wookie work on a 12' hammock?

I've moved to a 1-piece snake skin. Up for grabs is my DIY 2-piece skins. I've got too much junk in the gear room.

No matter whether you use webbing or a cord, the end-to-end force goes through the side of the hammock body the same way. And that force is considerable. Having built several bridge hammocks, I...
But keep in mind that different fabrics -with different amounts of stretch- will behave differently. This is part of the reason that no one has found a simple formula for the holy grail of a flat-lay...

I've had similar thoughts that curved/shaped/asymmetric hammocks 'should' work, but came to the conclusion that there are so many variables that generalizations are of limited use. Variable...

One end has now partially un-bent where it hooks over the pin in the pole handle. Thankfully it didn't dump me.
I've since given up on these hooks. Instead, I...
I tried the "eductor" method of moving down again, without success.
My new bridge hammock bottom quilt has netting baffles. So based on past experience I thought the eductor would work well. The...
I think the Ursack folks have been pretty honest about what their product does and doesn't do. For me, it's vastly better than searching in fading light for a suitable branch and wearing my arm out...
Did you also have an inward cat cut on the long sides? Note that the Streamliner has both and I believe they complement each other. I suspect that reverse cuts on the short ends with straight sides...
In the situation you describe both ends of the pipe are free to rotate, thus are "pinned" not "fixed". An example of fixed would be setting the pole into a deep hole in the ground filled with...

I've had good success with a down eductor in the past. However, it didn't work for me today on a Costco Down Throw with faux-baffles. Apparently the extra material layers in the faux-baffles create...

What you're feeling on the side seams is just the nature of a bridge hammock. All of your body weight is concentrated in a very small amount of material, hence very high tension.
Why not simply run another row of stitches right next to the original? One bead of seam sealer should cover both.
I found it easy to remove the rings while the continuous loop remained on the hammock.
I'll take it.

A buddy who does drywall work calls it the "white death". Handling down is similar for many folks. This method is brilliant, making maximum use of down with minimal fuss and handling.
