I am actually in a similar boat.
I'm 6'1'' 190 pounds with a belly. The jackets fits very snug but zip up. The ultralight jacket is slightly more forgiving and longer coverage.
They fit me...
Due to my growing waist size my prized cold weather jackets no longer fit me. I am regrettably selling these so I can buy similar jackets in large.

I think it only makes a difference in coverage if you know that you lay the same direction every time you use your hammock. I wouldn't say it is warmer.
This is also a great idea as well. In my mind it feels like it would work as long as I quilt the insulation together. I have never done that quilting before but it may be worth a shot.
I'm wishing you all the best George. Happy you decided to take some time off. Take all the time you need. Thank you for all you have provided to us.
Oohhh. I really like that idea. I wonder how well it would work. Seems like it would work well to me.
I'm tired of lending out my down quilts to my smelly friends. Everyone assumes you can just pop down sleeping bags into the washer but they have no idea these materials and baffles are delicate. It...
That's amazing. George is a class A+ dude. I was similarly floored by his help and generosity when he was putting my gear together. We are lucky to have such a great option when buying outdoor gear!
Where is the picture?
Yeah. I am glad that I went with longer dimensions than what I thought I needed. My long UQ just so happens to be the perfect length for me.
I would put it in some sunshine for an hour or two and let it air out outside a bit. Don't overdo the sunshine, check on it every once in a while and maybe flip it over.
Washing is a pain and...
I've had the sap all over my hammock before too. Definitely going to start pitching my tarp more often.
Removing the sap was annoying. I had to use a lot of rubbing alcohol to get it out.
I have purchased 3 quilts from LL. 1 UQ and 2 TQ. Every one has been worth the wait and standard price. His company's work is beyond exceptional.
Also, I have made my own top quilts before.......
Would love to fly over from California just to attend this but alas cannot :(. Hope you guys have an awesome hang!!
Since she already has 30's, I would just go with dual 10's rather than any 20's mixed in. More options for her and I never really understood the purpose of different ratings for bottom/top.
You...
This is really good advice I think as long as she can actually fit the 10 in her bag. But yeah the space and weight difference is going to be negligible between the 10 and 20. Easily saved by making...
Hey sloanie. I actually ordered the -10 degree from George and asked if he would sew up 3.5 inch baffles instead of 4 inch to make it a 0 degree with all the bells and whistles of the minus series....
Woohoo! Pictures or it didn't happen :p
Thank you for the kind words Kitsap! As they say, great minds ;). Just so you know, your tarps are beautiful too. You were an inspiration to me and the resources you provided were a great help when I...
So I'm not sure if I'm a good person to ask. I mentioned a few times to George not to worry about my deadline, and I know his team was hit by the flu. As far as the actual dates, I think I ordered...
I noticed that the extra long length, my crummy camera and shot taking skills makes my wides look quite narrow. It isn't the case in real life. I can measure but I already know through some testing...
A long time ago I promised some pictures of my Saver Series 20 degree underquilt and I never paid up. Today I just received a 40 degree Saver Series Top quilt and Custom Sub Zero top quilt from Loco...
This was exactly what I wanted to say but I'm glad UGQ beat me to it. Can't just factor for the down in a vacuum. The shell, baffles and other materials will not be changing just because you are...
That's a nice find! Are they large and made of cotton?
I completely agree. I have sold my 20 degree Revelation because I want a sewn footbox for all scenarios under 40 degrees. 40 degrees is cold enough that your feet really won't be all that comfortable...
To all those who are saying buy USA, don't you realize that many of the fabrics we use on our quilts and sleeping bags are produced in China? That seems like a double standard. It's OK to buy a car...
I dig the colors you chose. Very warm, earthy colors.
/Daydreaming of the top quilts I have on order. Can't wait
Sold. Thanks all
Sure. Sending you a PM now to work out the details.
Bump!
Dropping price to 250!
That's a really clever trick. I might try it if I continue to have issues with gaps.
If you have a differential cut then it probably is far from ideal but unless you are pushing limits its hardly a big deal. I wouldn't worry about the wear since some people build their entire quilts...
Oh, very good point! I totally forgot about this. I got called out by a volunteer ranger for my 1" straps.
He instructed that I could do any of the following:
1. Use 2" straps
2. Pad the 1"...
I dropped the price to 260! Motivated to sell it since the wife and I are saving for a car purchase and I have a few sleeping bags at this point. I just inspected the quilt and it is in pristine...
Depends where you go but all the campgrounds in the valley that I can think of are full of mature trees with ideal spacing.
Bring your bug spray though. Spring might have a fair few mosquitoes.
I wish I had down-needle position, i.e. stops every time in the down-needle position. So darn useful.
BTW I love your videos. They have been a tremendous help to me. Thank you!

Couple things I noticed and figured I would share:
1. Noticed an ERROR message on "Ready to Ship" Bandits. Shouldn't it say "Out of Stock" instead?
2. When I select options for the custom quilts...
Nice setup! Wish I had a deck haha
I honestly love the feel of the ion fabric better than the other lighter fabrics that I have felt (not that the others are bad at all). It just feels amazing.
The underquilt I purchased from...
Yeah the wait times are real long but it is also high season for buying these types of things. Hope that the cottage manufacturers are happy with the big business :D
Woo! I'm excited for you haha. Would love a 0 degree full set myself. Pics when you can!
I usually use the stuff sack that is provided. I don't personally like to smash it anymore than that but it inevitably gets smashed by everything else in the pack on top of it.
I'm also not...
Almost any machine will work on these light fabrics that we use in our DIY projects. The only time you might want or need a heavier machine is when you are working on thick straps for backpacks or...
I also ordered a 20 degree LL SS with a couple ounces of overfill. I love it! The construction on it is top notch and the ion fabric feels buttery soft. Really, the ion fabric feels amazing, too bad...
Actually, I think I'm starting to get it. That was really helpful! The pictures helped a lot.
I would love to see pictures of the finished product when you get a chance. I think I'm going to use...
The drawing is excellent thank you! I am having a very hard time imagining all the layers coming together. Hope you don't mind if I ask you some questions for clarification.
I assume that this...
