I moved to Eastern Oregon last year, and love the fact that I'm less than a half hour from three different national forests. It's hard to beat the PNW. Happy hanging!

I started reading what seems to be a great guide not too long before reading your post! "Hiking Hot Springs in the Pacific...
A quick search brought up Frenchman's Hot Springs near Ketchum. I'm hoping for something that has to be hiked into though.

Looking to spend a night, MAYBE two in the central Idaho wilderness, and have my heart set on visiting my first backcountry hot spring! Suggestions?
So far I'm looking at bear valley near Stanley,...
4 Days, 30 Mile Loop, Pure Bliss. This was my first trip that wasn't a quick there and back overnighter. It was gorgeous and I learned a lot about my gear and making camp, etc., that I couldn't learn...
Thanks for the quick reply! I'd heard the fires were pretty bad in Idaho, I hope some great rain is headed your way. I probably won't be able to get work off the weekend of the ruby hang but thanks...
I haven't seen any buzz on a 7th hang this year. Is it going through this year?

I'm waiting for spring to do any serious hanging: can't afford winter quilts at the moment. But in the fall I went out with just a pad and a sleeping bag.
Hey all. Living in Utah at the moment. Love the mountains here. Still trying to get used to sleeping a full night in a hammock but that'll have to wait for warmer weather. For now, I've been taking...
Beautiful! I was thinking about picking up ametuer photography as a new hobby to supplement my new trail-trekking hobby. One look at your post and no more thinking for me :)
I'll take the Hennessey Hex
Love it. I've only been out once and it's nice to see someone else testing the waters :) How do you like your jar bridge is it very packable?
UGQ Flightjacket 20* or similar treated down TQ. Thanks
Thought I'd check here before pulling the trigger on a Kelty Cosmic 20* Down to see if anyone has a better bag collecting dust. Thanks!
Awesome. Just rsvp'd with a maybe. My home theater system is up for sale and if it goes by then, the group hang sounds like an awesome way to wrap up the season!
I added a structural ridgeline to...
Thanks everyone! I'm adjusting to a new work schedule (I get up at 5:30a), but I'll keep trying on my nights off and report back in a couple weeks. btw I'm 26 live in SE Idaho and just went on my...
Anyone hanging within a few hours of SE Idaho? I just did my first backpacking trip last weekend and am hoping to get some more in before the season gets too cold ;)
I've hung a handful of nights at home as well as a couple outdoors and although it's seemed comfortable, I've slept little to none. Started on a Grand Trunk Ultralight and tried out the TrekLight...
The Palisades are great. I think It's only 4 miles in to the lower lake and then another couple to the upper, but the views are awesome and with swimming and fishing you can easily make an...
