Nice work @PopcornFool. Great idea.
One could also modify this out in the woods if tree spacing was not great for the hammock you brought.
ebrian,
its fun to try out other things but it sounds...
Nicely done.
What Shug said.
Nicley done jakev383.

Bump in search of info
Hey all,
Spent the last three days reading and ruminating on this vapor liner idea. May jump into testing/using this out. However, I cant seem to find the Equinox Vapor LIner anywhere. Have...
@chansta,
I think they are for running your Underquilt suspension through. Keeps the UG from shifting/sliding. If thats a Dream Hammock, I think they have a picture or video on their website. ...
Shug,
Thanks for everything you do for the hammock community.
Heal quickly.
Bob
Great little trip and video.
Thank you.
Bob
Nice start to 2024.
@Dinger-B2Z,
Hello. Merry Christmas.
Instead of carrying or purchasing specific gear for the Journey Porch Mode Tie Out, you can just use sticks/branches found at the camp spot. That is what...
@Always_Tired,
Welcome to the forum. Happy Holidays.
Like mentioned a few times above, no need to over think things and no need to overspend. You yourself said you were comfortable and that...
@Muddy Creek,
Fascinating pictures. So you cant move that down up from the bottom of the bag? Is that correct? Now I am curious. Hopefully someone on here has an answer to how that occurs and...
@AlaskanHanger,
Goodluck in your quest.
I find it odd that noone will take a custom, down, underquilt or top quilt order. Does anyone know the reason(s) why? Im guessing COVID, depleted...
Good for you.
Looked like a super nice place to spend a nite.
Bob
I think the tarp extenders from Tensa 4 would work. You could also fab up a DIY solution similar to Tensa's.
Thats a pretty sweet stand actually but I love my Tensa 4.
FWIW, that Quechua...
@mattnin,
That link to the a hand hold thread that that SHUG put up, I think, may be the solution your looking for.
Good Luck,
Bob
@mattnin,
Hello and welcome.
A quick and easy solution may be for you to just run another ridgeline/cordage line, seperate from your hammock ridgeline. Maybe place this just above your hammock...
@CajunHog,
Welcome.
Shugs videos cover all of hammocking. He is an incredible resource.
If I may make a suggestion, with lower back issues, you may wish to experiment with the types of...
@slowhike,
You may want to do what I do, I always carry a cheap Walmart Tarp with me whether its backpacking, car camping or float camping. I buy a tarp large enough to use as a hammock tarp if...
Hey @Longggone,
I wouldnt worry about it as its not going to be under a significant load. Sear it or melt it as mentioned, or if it was mine, Id just not worry about it. Just keep an eye on it. ...
@Erk82,
How did it go?
Bob
@SvenGolly,
Thank you.
Have a good weekend.
Bob
Good deal @Cougarmeat. Glad you found what you need.
Plus following this thread, I learned something new.
Bob
Morning,
I sent you a PM regarding those rings you were looking for. My computer is acting up so not sure if you will get that message. If you dont, let me know and I will try again. I was...
@hoosier1957,
Welcome.
I did over a year with the pad instead of an underquilt. I wanted to make sure I dug hammocking before I spent what to me is a lot of cash. The pad works just fine. ...
@Shawtd,
Good luck with the build. Take the time to read the Turtle Dog Stand Thread. It will answer all your questions. Its not super hard. Hell, even I could do it!
Mine took about 2...
Welcome.
Good people here.
Bob
@litetrek,
Morning. Ive used my thermarest pad at those night temps and it was fine. Id suggest bringing one extra layer of say lite or midweight poly pro pants and long sleeve shirt, as well...
@Shawtd,
Morning. I made one of these a few years back. Worked out very well for me. Still have it but dont use it as much as Ive gone to the Tensa 4 setup.
Couple ways to attach the Tarp. ...
@BoundaryBound,
Morning,
For those items you mentioned, I just use the sacks/bags, that my quilts, tarp or hammock come in. Hang it off your ridgeline(s) or hammock suspension. Dual purpose...
@Raladd,
Morning. To me, that looks like the fabric was stressed. Looks like there are 4 or five longitudinal strands of thered? still intact, but stretched. Maybe a branch fell and bounced off...
Welcome Halfshark.
Ive got an External Frame Jansport that I still use to this day. I do remember the old style Jansport with the leather bottom. All of us must be of a "certain age".
Happy...
@Erk82,
Welcome. Its a great group here. Very friendly and helpful.
I went with a 11 foot, wide as possible, double layer, "Raven" from Dream Hammock. As mentioned above, the double layer...
Hello,
Without buying upgraded quilts you might be able to do a few things:
Use Chemical Hand Warmers inside the gear you already have. Pop them into your quilts prior to climbing in or keep...
@Latherdome,
Please let us know if you folks decide to offer the pole sleeves. I think theyd be a great accessory.
Happy Spring All.
Bob
@cougarmeat brings up a good point. If I leave camp and am concerned about theft, I take that "thirded up/bundled up" Hammock and Quilts I referenced above, and place them into a stuff sack. I then...
Hang,
For the tarp secure it with a snakeskin.
For the hammock to include the Top Quilt and Underquilt, I take two or three long shoelaces, divide the whole shebang into thirds and tie off the...
Prayer sent for you.
Bob
@scootcole,
Nice job. The table is a nice touch. There is movement on the legs when their are loaded so be aware of that. Dont want to waste a prime adult beverage.
Have fun.
Bob
Very nicely done.
Be safe.
Bob
Welcome.
Best sleep outdoors ever!

Choggs,

Watch SHUGs videos if you havent already. He covers most, if not all, of your questions.

Prayer for his family and friends.
Popcorn Fool,
Thanks. That is exactly what I was trying to explain. Should've known Shug wouldve been a great resource for the answer.
If I understand what Cougarmeat just added, I also use...
Seb,
Looks like you have the side pullout attachment points on the tarp already. For me, I really dont like the idea of the poles above my tarp. I think there is too much risk of tarp damage if...
