It didn't work so well when I did it. There wasn't enough down to properly fill the area.
If you added more down you'd be good. Imo

TY Jellyfish. I've been beating on the quilt for awhile now and it's holding up excellent. I've taken it to -7 so far. Last night it was 0 and she was pretty warm. I made a TQ with the leftover 10...
The 10oz with the shell was so thick there was no way to get anything between it. It maxed out the machine. I couldn't even lower the presser foot....

Lol. It took some practice but I did it without problems. I have since reconditioned my body accept laying on my back in the hammock.
I think with a 1.7dbl layer it'd be even easier.
I have...

Bears are common where I'm at. Last year I had 2 come up on me. I usually carry a big surprise for them if they get too close. It helps alot that I work second shift so I'm up till the sun is about...

I got 25' for my guys too. Started with 5' each, after my 3" eye splice and tail bury I ended up with little over 4'.

I'd definitely go with 11' or more.
Also Climashield quilts are a good option for wet weather quilts.
You hammock suspension list looks good tho I prefer 15 straps and buckles.
Also I'm guessing...
I love my hexon wide. I like the durability of the robic but it's not available up to 70+ wide. The stretch to me seems about the same.
The hexon feels way better then the robic.
Unfortunately...

Got mine. I'm digging it. Not as soft as hexon. Wish it was wider tho.

Sounds like you're looking for slug tubes. Though the Smurf Sack would be a good addition to your gear I think the tubes would fit your application better.

I think you'll have better luck with something 11' or more.
I'm 6'1" 195 and found a huge difference from 10 to 11.
I even made a 11.5 from hexon wide 1.6. That by far is my favorite hammock to...
Awesome. My last CS order was 30 for shipping. Looks like I'll be getting some more soon.
Thanks for the heads up

Nice and well done. If it works who cares what it looks like. Looking good in my eyes is just a bonus when the builds done. Some time at the machine and you'll be pounding out all kinds of goodies. ...

Highly addictive and very satisfying. Many hours at the machine. The bonus of knowledge is always a plus in my book. The ole lady use to be the sewing...
As a big DIY guy I thought the name was fitting to pay respect to the designer. I totally understand your point of view.

It's not easy stuffing into a zipper opening.
If you got it full of quilts I open it over my hammock using the zipper...man is that something else.

You can't stop the DIY machine.
If it's for personal use I wouldn't see a problem. In fact if I ever came up with something I'd be flattered if someone used the design.
Selling it as your own is...

I'm sure glad I saved my old tent for when I do this. The ole lady won't kill me for getting down everywhere.
Can't wait till you get that far.

Awesome! Way better then mine. Like how you did the zipper. I need to make another one.
Excellent job Captain.
Mine got some heavy use last night and functioned flawlessly.
