Has anyone tested the new mountainsmith trekker lite poles as spreader bars? I've been using the older "twist lock" ones with great success for years. Wanted to add another set as my hammock...
I can expect 10f+ add from mine. I had the bottom of it sewn like a footbox and slide it inside my DIY 20f topquilt. Used it to 8 or 9f with no issues.
I'm in the same boat. Love the superfly but that gap at the ends with the RR would be nice if it could be eliminated.
I liked my first super fly so much I just bought another as well for my wife. The size is great for coverage. It packs down good for its size and unless you are a very weight conscious hiker you...
This may have been already talked about but I would like to hear anyone's experience with the 1 season ridgecreek UQ on the ridgerunner hammock. I own a 20f down quilt but want to get something with...
Friends and i did some hiking here 2 years ago. We hiked to the falls and swam in the big hole there. That water was freezing even in august. The meadows are absolutely beautiful. Great area to...
Welp. Heard back from Paul and Missy...
"We are not offering a 3/4 AMBUSH at this time. Normally we'd be able to just shorten an UQ but due to the design of the WBRR and the AMBUSH UQ it would take...
Has anyone requested a 3/4 length ambush be custom made? I have a full length ambush 20f and i like it but wanted to see about a 40f 3/4 length to shed some weight in the warmer parts of the year. ...
I had thought about drilling them as well but didn't want to mess with the integrity of the hardware. The poles were much cheaper so i thought id experiment with them first!!!
skyymallcorn. That is a great idea. Good pic!
I just used my trekker poles last weekend on a short trip and had no issues with the poles slipping at 240lbs. i didnt use dowels and was a little concerned so i had my stock bars as a backup...
Had a chance to test my MS poles out this weekend on a couple overnight trips. They worked great and did not slip at all(I'm 240lbs) with no dowel added. I did a trial run in the yard last week and...
I bought a spindrift with my RR last fall and hadn't used it yet on an actual overnight trip. However i plan to use it in a few weekends on a trip and i'm curious if the claim of adding 10-15...
I just picked up a pair of the MS poles and havent had a chance to try them on my RR just yet but plan to over the next few weekends. Im in the 240lb range so ill drag my spreader bars out as well...
I use my incubator on a WBXLC and have not had to use these even when pushing the underquilt to its limit. Fits perfect without snugging them.
I didn't have too much luck with my 20* incubator on my RR. It fit OK at the ends but had some gaps towards the center i couldn't get out completely. I didn't spend a bunch of time with it but i...
I really like this idea. Thanks for sharing. I'll be testing it out on my next trip where inclement weather is predicted.
I ordered mine monday august 1st and received it friday the 5th. Same week. MC DL RR and MC Spindrift.
Super fast.
Gave this(figure 8) a try this weekend on a trip and it worked awesome too. Thanks for the input guys. Saved me major hassle.
Yep. Zing it 1.75mm. I would wrap it up onto a coil(did not use the figure 8 method) around my palm. Each coil would catch on itself and ultimately tangle up(if that makes sense). I tried out...
Thanks guys. ill give these a try tonight.
I have a Dutch made continuous ridgeline that is the standard he sells, dutchhook on one end, wasp on the other and 2 soft shackles on prussiks. I cannot figure out a good way to store this between...
I am in a similar situation. I have a XLC and 2 incubators and very interested to see what kind of comfort the RR can offer. I like the idea of more of a view and also the ability to lay on my side...
