Perfect, thanks so much!
Still the wrong lake (so many Crater Lakes, I guess!), but thanks for sharing that video. It's beautiful!
I'm looking for intel on hammocking and camping at the designated sites around Crater...
Thanks! Just to clarify, I'm talking about Crater Lake in the Indian Peaks Wilderness in Colorado, not Crater Lake National Park.
Hi friends! I snagged a mid-August permit for Crater Lake in the IPW this year. I've camped in IPW several times, but I've never been all the way to Crater Lake. I normally shun designated...
Beautiful! Love #6.
Lovely! Particularly the shot of the hill with the sunburst.
I'm learning to juggle. I was tickled when I saw those videos come out. :)
Lovely! Glad you had a great trip. Amazingly, even in this "social distancing" time, I'm still craving a solo backpacking trip.
I always get excited when I see a new trip report / photo post from you. Great shots!
Looks great! Very nice first project. :)
Someone recently said on this site something that I really liked: your mattress is a -50 degree underquilt; when you get hot, you don't change the mattress. If you can only do one, go for the 0. ...
Beat me by a minute. A genuine Shug!
Regular length or XLC? 1st Gen (pre-October 2017, with the single perimeter zipper for the bug net and toggles at the ridgeline) or 2nd Gen (post-October 2017, with two zippers)?
I have a...
I'll take it: mini bull kit. Thanks!
Still available. Thank you!
I have standard (50") 20 degree Burrow and a wide (55") 40 degree Burrow. I'm a bigger guy and I toss and turn, and I can tell you from experience -- that extra 5" of width makes a big difference...
I have used these on a couple of trips. They are super light since they use a watch battery instead of a AAA battery pack. They look like the Big Agnes set, after OP removed the diffuser sleeve.
...
These are thicker (1/4" titanium), and about twice as big. I think the Titanium RCA XL is closer to (or exactly?) the 2nd in the sequence of the photo with the ruler in the OP. Back in 2016, he was...
Bump / Price Drop! $50, including shipping.
[I'm not sure why, but I can't edit the original post to change the price.]
EXCUSE ME I WAS TOLD THAT HAMMOCKS CAN DOUBLE AS SEATS!
:)
Bump / Price Drop!
Hi all,
Back in the glory days of 2016, I bought 2 of the 6 limited edition 1/4" Grade 5 Titanium LoopAliens that Dave made. See this thread. But I never ended up using them.
Paid $95.89...
Yep, piece of cake! It would work well with any of the hook-type connectors tethered to the stake, with the shock cord CL on the tarp. One benefit to this approach that surprised me: when the stake...
This would be it. :) In the sunrise shot, you can spy my hammock in the bottom-left corner above the rocks. Also note the hiker in the middle of the photo (the little white dot) for scale.

Ditto. On a long trip, I might take 4-6 shepherd hooks to give me some options including: 4 doors on the superfly; 2 for the doors, and 2 for porch mode, so I can transition quickly back and forth...
I'll take it!

I promise there's a hammock in there! Bottom left corner, above the boulders. My Superfly is proud, but it pales in comparison to its surroundings!
Hi all,
I ripped my 20 degree Burrow TQ on a trip last weekend. It looks like I kicked too hard into the footbox, or torqued it funny while I was sleeping. There are matching tears on both male...
Yeah, that might be enthusiastic ignorance, but it's also undeniably conniving. Rough intro to your most ardent potential customer base.
It took me a while to realize that the materials of the travel pillows and stuff sacks was the biggest annoyance. I guess the cotton pillowcase in just too ingrained in me from four decades of use....
It's all about the 2-seam fastball grip.
WOAH! That's one of those great moments in life (in hindsight).
So sad. I thought we really took great care of that place! I haven't been back since they started requiring a permit pickup in the Golden office. Any more info on the hammocking policies at White...
Nice! Did you catch anything? Which rod are you using (I spotted the Tenkara Rod Co. tube).
I was getting frustrated with the beetle buckles, but it turned out to be operator error. I re-watched Dutch's video, got the grip right (think 2-seam fastball grip), and now my one complaint has...
Got my Chameleon set up (in the living room)! 1.6 Hexon in Brick Red. I really dig the color, and I'm blown away by the quality and craftsmanship. Can't wait to get it out into the woods in a...
Great photos! Thank you!
When in doubt, watch Shug videos. The timber hitch is about as simple as it gets. See 3:00.

#738 shipment notice received!
You have a signature style! I saw that second pic and thought, "That's a great shot! Looks like that garlic picture that's currently my work computer wallpaper." Great pics, great trip!
I don't know the area well, but the last time I was there we took a beautiful hike up to Williams Lake (below Wheeler Peak). I saw some folks camping there, and it made me very jealous. Plenty of...
Who the heck is this "Ressler" that they keep quoting? :)
Nice! That's my (old) neck of the woods. I've camped on two different islands there, before they got incorporated into the recreation.gov system (and before I switched to a hammock). We also had...
Really love mine. So light you barely notice them. I leave them on the straps full time. Rapid adjustment Marlin spike = no need to re-tie the hitch in order to adjust. Also, no need to find...
Nice! I was getting a little worried by those comments as well.
Hello! Has anyone received a wide Chameleon yet? Would love to hear a review!
Looks like it is solved on my end.
Back for me too.
aHHHHH!!!!!
