I have been needing an option like this to work with my Jeep.
anyone else with a roof rack tried this with a solo Tensa pole?

Bridge buttons played a role in your decision?
I have primarily used a becket hitch for all of my gathered end hammocks. Any reason I shouldn’t continue to use it with a bridge hammock?
Dixie impresses me.
I appreciate her grit.
She is trying something new....again.
Its hard to come up with content every Wednesday so I am sure she thought this new experience would also be good...
I discovered Shug and Dixie @ the same time about 3 years ago.
That lead me here.
I think i can use this eye bolt(relocated to the end of the rack channel) as a good mount point for my foot end suspension.

Probably 80 inches which is the same height i normally...
Thanks. I didnt think so.
I was @ Bass Pro Shop tonight and regretted that I had not planned ahead and purchased one from SLD.
I passed on the Eno Bugnet.
I bought a 11’ SLD TR hammock last year for a family member ...Eno bug net is 9-4” long.
will this work?
I just came here to understand your struggles with finding trees on the PCT.
50%....that's a lot.
Last night was my first night back outside. Slept in my Tree Runner with a summer blanket and a 40° Yeti.
Still a little too hot.
I am just discovering this hammock tonight.
Been away for awhile.
I will have to give it a test drive when I have some cash.

I slept many nights in the wind and the rain and never got wet.
Of course i did have cover @ home but the 2 nights I spent on the AT ..top of Cheoah Bald and then Cody Gap...it stormed both nights....
I always crossed the head end with shock chord and toggled the foot end along with the Z-Paks double hook apparatus.
In the second pic below I do not quite have them overlapped like I normally...
I am just waiting for mid October to move my bedroom back outside.

First...I do not own a Kayak but I am considering it.
I think I am interested in taking a trip to Florida to possibly a spring.
Rainbow Springs State Park has caught my eye.
Does anyone have...
I have found that the Thermacell from Bass Pro Shops works well for Mosquitos,

until then.....

In SE TN we start seeing colder temps in late October.
When do you go back outiside for some cool nights of slumber?
You do not need to encapsulate the entire length of the Hammock with the SLD catch all....just enough to keep everything in place.
9' is perfect.
Mine is less than 8'.

Trees were infested with ants yesterday...permethrin worked for me on my suspension.
I forgot my 40° UQ last night @ Guntersville Lake, AL
I think it got down to about 73° last night.
I put my UQP on for some warmth...worked until about 5am.
The Greylock 3/4 would definitely have...
I disagree. See my signature for test temps. I know everyone is different when it comes to comfort but for me...Greylock 3/4 is fine from 15°-60° or so.
Maybe it is my age. I am 50.
i will let you know how the Permethrin on the suspension goes tomorrow.
Got a date with my hammock on the lake.....and I know the ants are waiting.
It's ok to respond 10 years later....no?
Depends on where you live....25° Greylock 3/4 works for me October to April.
Move to Minnesota....stay in your room and watch Shug and Matthew Posa prepare their meals in the snow on YouTube.
I live in Chattanooga @ about 870ft.
Depends on where you are going to be sleeping.
I use mine mostly at home on my deck and I have found that the 10° Greylock 4 UQP and the 25° Hudson River...
I have been away from this forum for a few weeks visiting the Overlanding Forums.
Still building my rig...I am close.
I need to get a Group 31 100AH battery and work out the cargo area.

Hangtime calculator and a ladder. I did this between my deck and the only tree in my backyard. Used lag eye bolts, caribiners, 15’ straps, whoopies, and a marlin spike hitch/toggle.
Adjustable Ridgeline?
I almost never think about the angle.
i know for me 80" foot end and 68" head end on a 14.75-15' span is perfect for my XLC.
When lay down on my Greylock 4 every night there is an immediate sensation of a tiny bit of warmth on my back.
I cant say that the temp matters.
I always feel it.
@20°-50° Can't comment below...
When I started using the MiniFly I stopped using the HG Winter Palace.
Zpacks Fleece Pillow Dry bag is what I use when its not lodged behind my back.
Multi-purpose item that i use for my down items.
Mont-bell vest
JRB Sleeves
JRB Hoody
The sleeves are...
We live amongst them.
It's taped and strong.
lol. Yep.
Isn't it funny how we all have similar experiences?
This is a fear I have with the new Greylock 4 because I am not using a secondary suspension....yet it never seems to happen.
The first thing...
Triangle Thingies worked for me before JRB changed their suspension. Now I do not use them.
The GL4 has replaced my GL3+1
You have homed in on the root issue.
Yep. This is what I know I must do.
When it is cold outside (below 50°) I flip the drivers side bug net over the ridgeline and double stack the tie outs to a single anchor point.
I do drop my phone in the shelf but the pillow is...
Mine is that darn pillow. Every time I get out of my hammock "to go look at the stars" I am confident that upon my return I will not once again get my pillow (Zpacks fleece stuff sack) stuck behind...
I have a 3 bio break rule.
If I get up more than 3 times to twinkle I go to the couch.
Not so much my back yard as it is my outdoor bedroom.

It is a warm 47° tonight.
No rain.
I getting ready to go.
big tarp
little tarp
Big tarp always comes first.
Ya'll are down below the Decatur Gator line.
I might be up for that.
What time of year do the gators come out to play?
lol. Shrewd = Rhys
Now it is all very clear.:)
