TrailSlug,
Are you able to get the doors to fully close when using the Ridge Runner?
Was your tarp made with the regular Silpoly fabric or the Silpoly XL? Thanks!
Am I going to run into trouble using a gathered end hammock under a 13 foot winter haven? I know the 13 foot will work with a Ridge Runner.
Thanks Vanhalo. Definitely going to get the door snaps. Nice pictures!
Had a great time...enjoyed seeing Bill's bridge hammock's, saw a cool tarp I wanted, and I definitely want the recipe for that green chili if it's available...that was so good! Nice job Andy with...
Thanks for posting, I appreciate the info. It looks like the 12 and 13 foot tarps have the center tie down according to the website. Do you have the center pole? I wonder if the center pole works...
Thinking about getting one. Main questions are as follows:
1. Cat cut or no...pro's and con's?
2. I want an internal center pole. I might not use it all the time, but if at a campground or...
Is it too late to sign up? I might be able to go!
2mm cord can slip in line lock 3's. That's why it's easier to adjust one handed. I would not use 2mm cord with Line Lock 3's.
Coldcityely,
That's great feedback, particularly the info on the fit of your underquilt. I also have some UGQ Zeppelins, so I'm glad to hear that they fit the wide Chameleon!
Thanks Rex...that's good to know.
I have the same concern about wide hammocks and under quilts...do you have to get a wide UQ?...how wide? I have some UGQ zeppelins but don't really want to buy any more under quilts if I can avoid...
Actually, squid mark, I do know more now than I did before, so thanks for your post!
I have yet to pull the trigger on my Chameleon....I think I've got the fabric figured out, but now the width. I've never had the opportunity to lay in a wide gathered end hammock. What are the...
Thanks for all the responses!
Question for Dutch...I read a thread on Reddit where it was mentioned the Argon 1.6 had even more stretch than the Hexon 1.0. Is this true?
Going to order a Chameleon but need to decide on fabric. I'm 6-0, 185-190 lbs.
I saw the Schill brothers video on sag between the 1.6 Hexon and the 1.0 Hexon, and also read their comments about...
Just signed up....looking forward to it!
Crap, I just got one of the older models a little bit ago and haven't even used it yet!....Maybe I'll put it up for sale to get one of these updated models!
Thanks everyone!
For all of you more experienced than I, If you were to order some Zeppelin Under Quilts, which fabric combinations would you use and why?
I'm trying to figure out the differences between the M10,...
What material and length/width for this particular hammock?....I can't make it for the weekend, but I might try to come up Saturday morning just to see this hammock!
I don't see any polyester on the Dream Hammock website...Did they used to carry it?
You do find the 2.2 Hex70 to be stretchy? I"m in the market for a Dream Hammock, so if this is true I might have to re-think my hammock composition, as I want as little stretch as possible as well.
I actually do too...I was thinking that in the weather conditions in which I might use an overcover I would probably have the tarp over it anyway, so the only person that could see the overcover...
[QUOTE=Bent Hviid;1673398]There are several with yellow over covers.
I also made a dream hammock inspired, poorly executed hammock with olive yellow over cover. And an olive yellow tarp. Olive...
Hey all,
I posted this in the Dream Hammock sub-forum but thought I might get more responses here.
I'm thinking about ordering a Dream Hammock Sparrow with a yellow overcover. My thinking was...
Ok...let's talk over covers.
What situations do you guys use your over covers? I'm thinking spindrift conditions or cold rain? (remember I'm a rookie)...
Also I was thinking of going with a...
I think I'm starting to lean more toward the hex70....thanks for your input, Countrybois!
Thanks, Junebugdawn. Do you know if the 2.2 Hex 70 is going to be slippery enough to allow me to roll around easily?
Also, If I go with a single layer, do I lose storage capacity?
Thanks!
I've been thinking about getting a Sparrow for quite some time, but this will be my first gathered end type hammock so I need some help. I'm about 6-0 and 190 lbs. I would like something with very...
Just remember that the MEC pad is a summer pad...it has no insulation and the R value is only 1.6.
Here's some interesting trivia about Jim Gaffigan:

I think the hike is 11 miles or so into the Blind Lake Campground, and I think it's 7 miles if you take the shortcut. I think it's about 4 miles or so from the Blind Lake Campground back to the...
What size is your Downmat 7? You will probably need the Long Wide size to prevent the mat from sliding around.
Is that a Seek Outside Tipi/Stove as well?...You have some nice gear!
JmBoh,
I'm not sure if you've seen this thread or not...it's in the Weather Protection sub forum:
...
I sent you a PM.
One thing I will say is that it is easier to get into a sleeping bag in a hammock if the zipper is on the same side as the hammock entry. If you enter the hammock on the left and your sleeping bag...
I think I'm going to upgrade...thanks to both Shug and JmBoh!
Shug,
I would definitely like to hear a more detailed comparison about the footbox...I'm 6-0 tall with size 12 feet and I've got a 2015 Draumr 3.0 still in the plastic bag, unopened and...
That tarp looks really good...and thanks for posting the pics as well.
I know the OP already ordered his tarp, but want to add that Mountain Laurel Designs makes hammock tarps in cuben as well....they probably have been working with cuben as long as anyone.
...
Awesome...looking forward to hearing more about it!
I take a pen and a small notebook and I journal...the quiet helps me to focus, and writing helps to organize my thoughts.
The Feathered Friends Wren bags and the Exped Dreamwalkers are similar to the Sierra Designs bag (and predated it).
The Nunatak Raku has arms like the Tactical bag mentioned by the original...
biggy,
Did you get the new tarp yet?
Well, for some people, (not all people) the more horizontal lie might be everything...In fact, for them it might be the single most important deciding factor. If I felt like I could sleep in a...
There are devices that can help with inflation, although you would have to check compatibility with the Big Agnes Pads...The Camptek Microburst is one, the instaflator is another. With the Exped...
