I didn’t use a counterweight most of the times. I just stay on the head side when getting in and out. For anchors I used the Sea Doo, orange spikes and whatever else was close by.

Tensa worked flawlessly on the Colorado river. Only thing to mention is be careful when using in sand as it gets stuck in the poles making it a bit hard to retract the poles.
Yeah but how big and heavy is it? I just took a nice nap in mine. My Blackbird can go convertible and is 11ft but like I said it’s more for its small size and weight. I thinks it serves its purpose...
Hey anyone own this hammock? I was at REI and was looking over the hammocks when I stumbled across this little guy. I was surprised by how small and light it was and even more surprised with its 300...
Once again another vote for the pad from Walmart. I actually just picked one up a few days ago for under $7.00. Mind you I also own a down underquilt, but wanted to try the pad for warmer weather....
I use taut line hitch with 1.75 zing it along with shock cord for tension. As stated above, you just have to know how to tie the knot. The more inside wraps, the tighter the hold. This has worked...
Great. I get it. Thanks guys.
Hmm. My wife always washed my North Face sleeping bag and always have feathers poking out. Mind you, this sleeping bag is over 10 years old and had been washed at least 10 or more times in a regular...
I just got a Yeti 3 season underquilt and have questions regarding down comming out. What do I do when I see a feather poking out? How can I get it back in? Do I pull it out? Is this normal to see...
You will love the blackbird XLC. I ordered around same time as you but got it about a week and a half ago. Funny thing is, it took me till today to go out and set it up with the mamajamba and the...
I ordered mine around Jan 3 and already got it. Took 2 weeks for my Dbl 1.7 XLC, mamajamba and yeti quilt.
Haven't slept in it yet but did set it up and it is nice!
The new Hennesey's have zipper entrance now or you can mod one to have both the bottom entry and zipper.
The Blackbird now comes in XLC which is a larger hammock with a removable bug net.
I own...
If the cold didn't get you, the comfort factor would have. Unless you are very experienced in hammocks, you will fiddle with the set up the first couple of times.
I just got a XLC with a yeti underquilt. Though your underquilt is different, Brandon, owner of WarBonnet, has a note included with his underquilt that a 6" shock cord is included for use of...
Wait time is about 2 weeks from ordering to delivery. :)
I ordered my BB 1.7 Dbl XLC, mamajamba and 3 season yeti about 2 weeks ago, I think around 1-3-13. I got my shipping notice 3 days ago. My package should've been here yesterday but some how it got...
That wait tho. :( counting the days for delivery.
+1 on the picture.
The hooks they refer to are the ones with the zip ties. These hooks are the only thing that will be permanent as far as the SS goes. That shock cord ate the ends of the foam are what will attach to...
Just pulled the trigger on the Yeti since I also bought the WBBB XLC. I was concerned about the yeti covering me at 6'-01" but after reading most of the reviews I decided on the Yeti. Now the wait...
I'm in the same boat trying to decide. I would think the yeti would have a better fit for the WBBB since it is made specifically for it. I am about to buy a WBBB XLC and need to decide fast.
To...
Super shelter has a slit matching the hammock entrance on the bottom. The pad will have to be moved to one side as you get in then you move it back into place.
For those temperatures you will...
I just did a hang and had the same problem. i was using the HH Explorer Deluxe with the SS. My set up was from inside out; my hammock, space blanket, pad and super shelter undercover. I was sleeping...
Thanks. I just returned from Palomar Mountain and that was nice. I am planning to go by Julian next, Green Valley Falls in Cuyamaca.
So I thought I would start this thread to see what other hammocks from around the world you have. Besides my HH EXPLORER, ENO single nest and a hammock bliss I dont have any from my ancestors who all...
This post is kind of old but I thought I would chip in. I just returned from Palomar Mountain Doane campground. I went to scout out locations and found some really nice spots. Aside from the car camp...
Thanks for the warm welcome. I did check the event section and posted a thread. I will look I to the member map. Thanks!!!
BTW, I am so glad to have found this site!!
Looking to see if anyone knows of good local hang spots or even organize a local hang.
Interested?
Hello all,
My name is Rick and I am new to this forum but have been "hanging" all my life. It is in our culture in Central America.
