In browsing this forum I found this post https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/136319-Sleep-Tracking-Hammock-vs-Bed
It appears that there's some evidence that some people do in fact...
Practice makes perfect!
Good for you keep it up.
Here's some tips I've found helpful: https://bestcampinghammockgear.com/how-to-sleep-in-a-hammock-properly
If you sleep in a bed all the time and then you all of the sudden switch to sleeping in a a hammock it's hard to get used to.
It's like speaking English your whole life then all of the sudden...
Definitely a longer hammock
I'm a little taller than average 5'11" and I use the butt in a sling camper XL as it's long and wide
But I had the grand trunk nano for a while and I feel the...
I have yet to make my own hammock and I don't think I've seen this done but the Butt In A Sling Camper XL is my favorite hammock and it's 72 inches wide.

If you're going to get this specific I'd definitely say you want to go with a DIY hammock
There's some comparisons of hammocks here but currently there isn't any with a sleeve...
As @SilvrSurfr said follow the 10 Degree buffer rule and you'll be okay
This definitely gives me something to think about before I purchase an underquilt which I hope to to soon
Welcome!
I'm also a fellow long time lurker
Mine's just me trying to sound smart haha
You'll never be looking back now that you've started hanging!

Yippee Dutchware is the best around
I've sent your illustrations to several of my friends when they first started hanging to help them learn.
Very helpful, thank you
So glad I finally read this sticky. I'll definitely be using this
I've been an on and off indoor hanger.
But I like to keep it simple
I just screwed two eye bolts into the joists in my basement and made sure they were far enough away from eachother so I could...
I don't think you can get it on amazon but definitely my fixed length ridgeline.
It ensures that my hammock has the same lay every time I set it up and it keeps the bugnet off my face
I'm so glad all of us have the same problem haha :)
There's tarp tensioners that use a little bit of shock cord and it keeps the tarp tight but allows a little flapping to prevent tearing.
I plan on getting them this season an it sounds like it's...
This is incredible! Thank you
For me a fixed length Ridgeline.
I love it, it makes my hammock lay the same way every time I set it up.
I like the consistency :) and it keeps the bug net off my face
I'm 5'11" and 215# so I'm about the same size.
I've found the Butt In A Sling Camper XL to be the most comfortable hammock for me and then for top quilt you can pick up some reasonably priced ones...
I think it's a great idea and it would force me to figure out how to camp in the cold winters of Michigan
I'd go with the hammock.
To me the price you pay for some of the inconveniences of the hammock far outweigh sleeping on the ground.
As for staying warm you could always just wear an extra shirt...
The suspension was the most confusing part when I started hanging.
Keep up the good work :)

Happy Hanging!
I always use a pad at the minimum.
It's much easier to just leave your feet out in the open to keep you cool than to scramble to get your pad in place at 4AM
I have the Camper XL and I use it exclusively with the Nano Buginator.
Works flawlessly for me, you won't have any issues
Howdy from Michigan!
I really liked camping because I did it a lot when I was a kid but sleeping on the ground is so uncomfortable.
So I started camping in a hammock, and now I'm here with fellow hammockers :)
Howdy!
