I'll take all 20 ft.
bump. Will pay top dollar?
Does anyone have some they would like to get rid of ...

I never thanked you all. So better late then never. Unfortunately because of logistics and such I won't be able to do any camping :( I learned a lot about Germany though. Thanks for all of replies...
I love this. LOL!
Jealous. I've always wanted to hike and tenkara in Japan.
I really like that camo pattern. I'm going to wait to see the results of 20d vs 30d. Then sign me up for one.
I will be in the black forest region some time in middle of May 2017. So I have a few questions?
1. Is backpacking allowed? If so what regions of the forest (North or South or both)?
2. Are...
Remember that time I said to use Kickstarter. Seems to work okay ... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/703694747/chameleon-hammock-by-dutchware. Happy for Dutch having a successful campaign.
Enlightened Equipment has redesigned the Enigma to come standard with a round mummy style foot box. The price has gone up as well but its still very competitive to the competition.

Polish the straps up a little bit and put them on Kickstarter. This starter made $56,344 on 1,097 backers with their straps. If you reach your goal you have a successful campaign. Kickstarter will...
What happen's when I miss the hammock and sit in the UQ in the dark? You know you've done it :) But really, will the shock cord stretch enough not to damage the UQ?
Folding causes creases in the CF. The creases will wear faster. Think about a piece of paper. You take it and crease it many times over and the crease becomes weaker. It's not as pliable as coated...
The becket hitch works with 2.2 kevlar and 3.3 kevlar. If you noticed slippage, tie a double becket hitch. Weight also matters. I weigh 185 lbs. Test it before going into the field.
That's awesome! Will it hold a gift card?
Trauma and Pepper did the first ever winter PCT hike. Gear Junkie wrote an article on what gear they used. This was quoted from Trauma ... "We used this synthetic quilt as an over-bag for our sleep...
It's not just bark damage from suspension. They are drilling into trees. Cutting down trees to make a spot to hang. Carving him+her=forever into the bark. The list goes on. I think every one could...
The instructions for this hammock is one of the best I've seen. Great job!
You're lucky. Some of the states parks around OK are banning hammock camping because of tree damage. One bad apple can ruin the bunch.
Wouldn't most of this knowledge apply to sleeping on the ground? How does the science apply when there is wind coming from underneath and your body is being elevated off the ground? I think it would...
DuneElliot. Did you get a palace? If so, can you take a pic of it pitched from the side. To clear up some of the confusion of the palace pictured on HG's site vs the one your received.
Shug did minus 40* with a 0* TQ, 0* 3/4 UQ, 20* sleeping bag as a pea pod, and his down jacket over the foot end. That's epic and scary at the same time.

2.2 Kevlar straps is the lightest suspension on the market period. They are also the most expensive. Check this post where I did some weight comparison's.
Depending on the size of the dog, they could easily carry the pet palace in a pet pack. Win Win!
Tie off to the stitched nylon loop. If you punch a hole in the fabric and pull on it, you'll see it tears easy. Same concept with the grommet. The brass reinforcement does not help enough.

I like Bic's tutorials. Looks simple and lightweight. Also you can buy a kit.

It has the same stability issues and safety factors as all the other's of this type. The guylines and anchors are keeping you off the deck. These have two poles the competitors have one? I don't see...
Looks nice. We'll see when they get the Kickstarter live.
Thank you for giving realistic time and use on your CF tarp. This helps.
It's a valid question and you won't get a reliable answer. Just take this phrase with a grain of salt ... "I've used x product for the last x years". Years mean nothing. It's how you use it, what...
If I ever bought a CF tarp it will be because I have the money and because I can. I will not be spending enough nights backpacking in the near future for durability to ever be a concern. There's...
Looks like a pretty sweet upgrade. Hard work always pay's off. Great job!
If you really want some thicker stuff Dutch sells it ... http://www.dutchwaregear.com/amsteel-blue-by-the-foot.html
I was not the first to mention a WB tarp. I was responding to this ...
Warbonnet mentioned this in another thread. I was simply sharing the information. If winterbeard, drsolarmolar, WB, or...
You may be able to shut the doors on a 13 ft ridgeline using two hammocks. Even if they didn't shut all the way up, it would be better than no doors.
I have a solution for you. I've been using it for a couple months. I'll make a video of it!
Welcome from Oklahoma! How do you set up the anchors? Do you use cams? Get some pics of your next underground hang, I'd love to see it.
Simply Light Designs can make the Winter Haven tarp with Xenon Wide fabric. If you choose a 13 ft ridgeline that will make a 13 X 12 ft tarp. That's a pretty big tarp.
The snap kit is very easy to operate. You poke a hole with the included awl, place a male on one die and a female on the other and press them together. Easy Peasy!
Ah I see. Both are great tarps. I bought a snap kit to add snaps to whatever I want. Also, WB is releasing a new camo pattern for the Superfly in a couple weeks. If you're into camo you may want to...
The photo on the site is not an old one. Can someone with a recent HG WP confirm the tarp they received is the one in the picture? Catenary cut refers to the ridgeline. Catenary curve refers to the...
For a Ridgerunner, I would recommend the 13 ft UGQ WD? For a gathered end hammock it depends. They are the same width. The WD comes in 1.1 SilNylon, 1.1 and 0.9 SilPoly. The Superfly comes in 1.1...
I'm referring to the images of the WP and the Standard tarp from HG's site ... one clearly has straight edges with a mid tie out and one clearly has a high curved edge with no mid tie out. They both...
I'm not messing with the RR triangles. Brandon designed and tested it with the correct lengths and I think the balance is spot on. The 13 ft UGQ Winter Dream works great with the RR. The panel pulls...
If you want quick centering and adjusting, Derek's CRL is the easiest to slide and center. The idea is the ridgleline loops around trees and connects directly to the tarp (as shown in the video's...
Dutch makes it.
Thanks for the update. I've been holding out since the spring and I'm looking forward to the design. If it looks good, it will be my hunting tarp with doors.
UGQ and SLD both make silpoly tarps with doors at half the cost of CF. SLD can make it using Xenon wide. This makes it wider than the HG Winter Palace (my bad ... the CF Palace). There are a lot of...
It's 115" wide. So from ridgeline to ground it's 115 / 2 = 57.5"
Most winter tarps are wider and have straight side so that you can shovel snow up to sides to prevent any wind from coming in from under the tarp, making it colder.
