Sounds like a solid solution. Still only one zipper to undo to get in or out and maintain complete seal and footbox

I didn't realize some TQ's didn't have draft collars till this thread to be honest :)
I experienced it first hand a couple of times, how important it is. My current TQ is black so if I unpack when...
In very cold weather, the draft collar is really important. So for the two cold weather variants, it would probably be a good idea to offer it.
I had one of their 250 hammocks a couple of years ago. I hung it with the supplied rope a few times and then switched to AmSteel. No difference what so ever, except a lost less weight and a lot...
Awesome stand and so easy to make. Took 10 minutes to make it and put it together. 2” by 2” 265cm long. Worked like a charm!...
I was thinking something along those lines as well. I actually read the entire thread but I think there was only speculation but no real attempt, hence why I wondered. Maybe someone did it but...
Late to the game as I just stumbles upon this thread last week. Already got plans for making one this upcoming weekend (or maybe sooner if I can't wait!).
Since getting a hold of metal pipes is a...
And just to make it a bit more complex, it really is super easy to make the wookie work with the Chameleon as well. Just some initial adjustments and then it'll be just as plug-and-play as on the XLC
Hahaha then your answer makes a lot more sense [emoji12]

Then it seems to me that you are wrong :) I returned from a trip to there just 3 days ago and with a stand like this I could’ve slept in a hammock instead of having to go to ground in a tent
...
Awesome! Thank you. I’m sure with some practice the tarp will be manageable. The good thing about the arctic in the winter, is that there’s lots of snow to help block the wind :)

Yeah I noticed he ordered it too after I replied yesterday.
The problem with getting both when you recide in europe, is the insane import expense. a $300 quilt easily ends up costing $450 before...
Will then Tensa4 work with a 12' tarp?
How stable is it? Will it work in harsh windy conditions? Say on top of a small mountain in the winter north of the arctic circle? :)
Take it from a Danish guy (living in Sweden, working in Denmark). Get the zero-degree version. I bought the 3-season 20f and wish I had gotten the zero-degree one instead.
I had my first pod nights a month ago and it was awesome. Sure you limit your diagonal lay, but honestly it's worth it in order to stay warm.
I was in 10f / -6c temps and used the following setup...
Great review! A pity you missed those seriously cold nights, as that would've been the real test :)
I totally disagree about the wearing of clothes to bed though, but hyoh :)
Sounds like you haven't installed it correctly. I have zero spacing between the quilt and the hammock where my body is, when I'm in the hammock.
But I concur with your conclusion: Get one :)
It’s not like we’ve got a choice. 8 months fall 4 months winter [emoji12]

It's pretty funny - I'll post a short video once I get it on youtube, of how we cut the pool and build the bar :)
One of our ice axes got dropped under the side of the pool, so I guess we'll be...
0 degrees celcius/32 farenheit :) It kept freezing up - Really annoying when you've spent 15 minutes preparing for a cannonball and then have to run out of the sauna and break and remove the ice so...
Thank you all.
It's quite easy to get the nice shape of the pool when you use a chainsaw to cut the ice :)
Sure :)

well I can't predict the weather, but I'm preparing for -40 but expect a more modest -25 :)
Definitely not too cold, I know! That's why I'm going to Sarek way north of the arctic circle in a month. Unfortunately that'll be without the hammock since it's way above the treeline - But where I...
Unfortunately I forgot to take any pictures of my actual hammock setup, but I'll explain it below.
So every year since 2011 (with one exception), we've held a pool party on a mountain in Dalsland,...
And each pleat is about 1 inch of fabric total? (so like, 1/2-inch folded over = 1 inch ?)
I didn't have an incubator, but a UKHammocks UQ which performed poorly to say the least (Either lacking or total lack of differential cut) which I swapped for a wookie about a year ago.
The...
Not really. The whole idea of a hammock is to sleep better.
Wow ... that's a bit disturbing
Absolutely! To begin with it's prototyping. When I'm venture into actual import (which I would've loved to avoid by being able to get it from EU but that doesn't seem so easy) I'll have a chat with...
Now my S.A.D. lamp if off ;) Thank you for the replies guys. I had specifically hoped you two would reply and neither of you left me disappointed :)
ExTex prices are probably ok if you're just...
How utterly depressing that noone seem to be able to help me out :(
Rose Feather have a lot of various qualities of down. What was the claimed FP of the down he tested?
I'm having a hard time finding reasonable priced down in Europe. I've searched a lot and get a lot of hits on American and Canadian sites which source European down. I've heard a lot of good about...
Heh, this is a bit funny. I still haven't archived the Scandinavian wookie email discussion Brandon and I had last March, where I asked if he could make me one. I'm very thrilled that he actually...
Exactly my experience. I regret I didn't get the 0-degree.
How many pleats and how big do you expect to use? And will you have for example, 2 in the foot end and 4 in the butt area or will you spread them evenly along the full length of the quilt?
Looks pretty solid and well thought out. I don't really see it being that terrible. What is it you would like to improve?
If nothing else, those of use who read this am now more informed than we were before. So I for one am glad you've been sceptical and done a bunch of research, so I can lean back and not have to ;)
Right. Thanks :)
Besides the obvious differences, which are:
Zippers
Pullouts
D-rings
Stuff which attaches to zippers and D-rings
Are there anything else?
Very nice!

That nest is perfect. Thanks for doing the video Sintax77 and thanks for making the product Dutch
I guess the length is 11 ft, since those are the hammock's it's made for, and it's supposed to be super tight up agaist the hammock.
Not really, because due to their design, they have a smaller insulated area (only just under the user) and thus use less down and fabric for baffles. So it pretty much even's it out
Down. Lots and lots of beautiful 850-950 fp goose down. And always get a quilt rated warmer than what you need

Since you request a no-fuzz easy hung UQ, I feel as though more people should've mentioned the Warbonnet Wookie. Someone did already, but only one in 4 pages - So I'll bring it up again :)
