Hi mph,
any chance to see a picture of the hammock?
Hey Californians,
Fate decided that I’ll spend the next couple of nights in the San Francisco area. As I’m on foot, does anyone have a good recommendation for a spot to hang that’s [almost]...
Nothing too fancy actually.
For the topquilt:
-sleeping with some clothes
-taking care to get the quilt hole at your feet closed for good before the night
-migrating some more of the down...
Well, it depends. In Torres Del Paine, for example, there‘s a popular 9-day-loop as well, and conditions are said to be a little rougher there. You‘d need to check with someone who did this trail to...
You won‘t regret it, those guys are little miracles! Just got back from a trip to Patagonia (https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/157712-Hammocking-Patagonia).
Temperatures went down...
I just realized I didn‘t mention this in the main post: We have been hiking there in February, which is one of the warmest, dryest and least windy months down there. Outside of the main season I‘m...
Thank you! Altitudewise it hasn’t been too crazy. It’s all been in between around 800 and 1200 meters above sea level.
Gracias amigo! ;-)
So, I just got back from a trip to Southern Argentina / Chile. We spent a couple of nights camping and hiking in Torres Del Paine National Park as well as in Los Glaciares National Park. Great times....
This is for anyone who's contemplating to buy an Operator Ghost Pepper 50 and wonders how far it will take you down temperaturewise. I reached a new personal record a couple of days ago. Paired with...
I finally made it. It's 100% reliable now. No drafts or cold spots anymore.
The trick was to not shy away from extreme measures. I got a good deal on a WB Yeti 20F in the meantime and noticed that...
Sold to Hammocker.
Actually it‘s still available. My bad. I edited the post above from “115$ shipped” to “115$” to make it less confusing. I just meant to say that the price includes shipping.
Final price drop: 115$
Price drop: 125$

You'll like the 1.3 fabric. For me, it's the perfect compromise if it's about weight, packability and comfort. Actually on comfort it's no compromise. :)
I'm going to order from SLD again soon.
No worries, cmc.
So, Jared got back to me about the material.
He said he's usually more conservative than most on his ratings and tends to focus more on comfort than absolute limits.
That's why he...
Hi. Since you're not the first one to ask, I just sent a mail to Jared and let you know once he gets back to me.
That said, I weigh 176 lbs and this is my most comfortable hammock.

Thanks for clarifying, I‘ll be sure to try that!
Selling my Simply Light Designs 12' Trail Lair. Asking 135$ shipped to CONUS. Bought new one month ago for 195$. Shipping from upstate NY.
Excellent condition. Used three times at home and once...
Thanks so much for this! Any way to lighten my HH is much appreciated as it still is my hammock which is the most bugproof and durable! :)
Well, if condenseation depends mostly on the temperature difference, a warm sleeper would see more of it, wouldn't he? I am a very warm sleeper and had lots of condensation when I tried the HH bubble...
To anyone who is still wondering about triangle thingies, this might be illuminating. Taken from the Arrowhead website

There's nothing wrong with using a pad in the beginning. In fact, if it wasn't for packsize and weight, I would always use a pad as well as an underquilt, since I like the way it changes the lay, and...
Same here...
I love this UL quilt but still struggle a little with drafts from the side closer to my feet. It seems to depend on the hammock that I use as well. I might try ridgeline quilt hooks next. I'm almost...
I experienced the same with my Hennessy setup in one big sleeve. Upside: It's super fast to set up and you're lounging comfortably in your hammock already while your buddy is still fiddling with...
Thank you for your review. I actually haven't heard of that company before. Always interested in lightweight summer gear!
To anyone who is looking for something a little more lightweight, I can recommend SLD Bottom Entry Bugnet made from 0.7 Nano-See-Um. I can't see how you can save any more on weight / packsize.
How about permanently attaching it to the walls?
I'm fairly new to down products, so when I got my first quilt combo from a respected vendor here, I actually had nothing to compare it to. In the meantime, I bought a lightweight and very cheap down...
This sounds great. I may be in the area next year in late summer. Maybe there will be time for a trip like this to the "Graveyard of the Pacific". :)
Nice! Matching tarps just always make great pictures. :)
This does look like a good idea. Any update on how it actually performs?
16 grams, very nice. If it would only be as comfortable as an inflatable one when it's under your heels in the hammock.
Thanks, much appreciated!
Very nice! While thinking about designs for a potential top cover I never thought about the impact on the atmosphere inside, when the light is shining through. Thanks for pointing that out!
Bulkier and heavier, too. I agree on the low height of the hang though. It won't work with every hammock (+ underquilt). Works well with my 11' hammock with a 87% ridgeline.

Those underquilts both look like a perfect match for the hammock!
Your files don't work.
With the baffles constructed sideways, do you feel the down shifting downwards sometimes resulting in cold shoulders?
Wouldn't you get lots of condensation in a waterproof material?
I've had the orange screws fail when the ground was too soft + wet. Any suggestions for this kind of scenario?
The TQ looks like it has a lot of loft for 50F. Do you feel like it might go down a bit lower even?
Can you estimate the packed size?
I happen to sleep very well in my ENO SN, even though ist is only 7'5 (bought 2012). The flapping of the fabric is way worse with the DN. With both models you can put some stones in the side pocket...
Yes please!
