I have been unimpressed with my “20 degree”. EE.
Inam 6-1' 225 lbs. no shoulder squeeze at all on the RR. I love the fact that I can see out of it while lying down - not something you csn do with most bridges. If you like to draw your knees up...
"The concern mentioned with using the hammock ridge line was that suspension line gets tighter or looser when you get in the hammock and that would change the “pitch” of the trap. Either it would be...
My most success with the original hh tarps is when they are hooked to the hammock suspension as designed, and then staked down at about a 45 degree angle.
I use two descender rings instead of the Hh lashing. Very adjustable, very light weight. The loop to the tree straps is on the right. I just thread the HH line thru the trap end loop.180563

Very happy using UGQ's 13 ft Winterdream with my Ridgerunner. I can fully close the doors. Tell them you are using a bridge with it and they can move the side pullouts to match where your spreader...
I futzed around with trying to get my gathered end hammock UQ to work on my Ridgerunner, and was never satisfied. I bit the bullet and ordered the UQ made for the ridgerunner by Warbonnet (there is...
Interesting topic and I will put a dofferent slant on it. For my gathered end hammock, yes there is a significant packed volume difference between my 0 degree winter UQ and my summer setup. ...
Great event Uphill. Kudos for organizing it and doing the chilli, even with the unplanned occurrences.
I'm in for Friday night only. Need to bug out Saturday morning to meet other commitments. I'll bring dessert. Maybe a couple of pies.
Some photos of my UGQ winterdream, which I use with a ridgerunner. I have done the end pole mods and the shorter top pole mod. Mucch prefer the end poles for roomieness and porch mode. One photo...
Yes, I use the dutchware poles with my UGQ winterdream 13 for the end mods. Along with the little plastic pieces you need to complete the mod - where the poles attach to the tarp.
Exactly what I came up with - tried it last night and it worked well.
Thanks. You can not slide the lynx to the side. I added two adjustable loops at the head end of the rr where the lynx clips in. To vent I will clip the lynx to the loops and adjust their length as...
Thanks Shug. But I think like the Wookie there is not much play to do that. I will look into adding some bungee loops at the carabiners.
Ok, so on my gathered end hammock I vent the uq by loosening the suspension. How do you vent a lynx on a ridge runner?
Uphill, thanks for hosting. Excellent chili!
Which is the preferred parking place for overnight? The lot by Anglers, or the one at Carderock?
I have a Ridge Runner and really like it. However, there is too much fiddle factor trying to get my gathered end underquilt to fit well. I get gaps along the sides when I side sleep. So, I am...
Gunner, Terminator, thank you for hosting a really nice event. It was just what I needed - three nights in cold temps to get the underquilt and new hammock dialed in. Appreciate the advice from all,...

Uphill- Thanks! Pancakes coming!
Ticks are hard to see on black.
I added that I will bring a couple of pies (Sorry - store bought). Let me know what else I can bring that travels well.
The black drip cords would be easy to miss. Mine were inside one of the hammock pockets tucked in a corner.
Thanks Paptechie!
I received my ridgerunner yesterday, and slept in it last night. Very comfortable. Two questions -
1. What is the purpose of the line tobble and loop of bungee attached to it at the head of the...
"adding the UQ between the foam and undercover worked better for me than between the foam/hammock. With my 'classic' bottom entry hammock and a 3/4 Jarbridge 3 season UQ, I just hook up the UQ head...
Gunner76,
I should pull in about 2 pm.
ok, I am signed up. I will be there assuming there is no nasty weather on I-95 through Virginia. I'll bring some potato salad for one of the lunches, and some crusty bread loafs for one of the...
What UQ did you use?

Thanks. Just got the dutchware 12 ft single, and it works well.
Thanks. I like the mesh ones. I will try them.
So, love my winterdream13. But would like a pair or single net skin to make packing up easier. And all I see out there are skins to 12 feet....
I just started reading this thread. Nice idea. I had a buddy who did a night outside for every full moon one year. That was pretty cool. Personally, I am at about 107 nights out this year so far.
"Snow can often set up pretty hard over night and after a day or two freeze deadman anchors pretty tightlY..."
Haha, i had to wait one morning for the sun to shine and melt the frozen surface...
My problem is the wife sees it and says "where is mine?"
Thanks. I plan to do the end pole mod myself, but in some situations may not carry the poles.
Thanks folks!
What are people finding useful in guy length for the pullouts on this tarp?
Looking for some mesh skins for a 13 ft ridgeline winter tarp. Any recommendations?
Ok, I am tentatively in for this. I will add my name to the spreadsheet when I can confirm my attendance.
Thank you to the event organizers, and to everyone who made those great food dishes!
Plans change. I will get there early Saturday and stay till Sunday. My contribution to dinner is on the spreadsheet. Thanks for organizing this.
I'll be there. Arrive Friday. May only get to stay through the potluck on Saturday depending on things at home. I have a 16x16 Kelty Noah Tarp we can use for rain cover. Anyone want to share a...
Look up the Connecticut river conservancy - they have printed and online maps showing the river, dams (can you say portage?) and campsites. I have done most of the water trail and it would be suited...
I want the option of ground sleeping so need to use a pad.
I have a Hennessy Explorer Ultralite. I use a pad in it (an exped downmat in winter, a Thermorest Neoair otherwise). I am considering adding a sleeve under the existing hammockmbottom to hold the...
