Not using the Renology battery, but the one I have is also 266 WH.
- To test the battery I would get a 12 V to 115 volt, DC to AC Adapter and plug in a fan or something, if it keeps going, then...
Upfront I have to make it clear that I like Dutchware a lot (actually just got a delivery notice for a package coming tomorrow), but you have to be a little careful with the DutchWare site (in...
Sounds good Lofty ... also we have to work out a paddle handoff I believe
Funny, perspective with hammocks is everything.
All the hammocks I have made for my friends and I, have been double layers .... except for a couple of prototypes. Not for firmness and really not...
You can always use someone else's booking (mine or others), but you are better off just booking somewhere, the parking stuff is just silly .... I am booked for 8 - 12 ... I suspect we will have the...
Good question, but it also begets further questions.
Do you want a fixed (functional) ridge line or just a ridge line to hold up a bug net?
I actually use a single fixed ridge line to set my...
Confirmed Wed - Sunday (8th - 12th), Prioux
Looking for extra days as well
Looking forward to this one, last time here was ... well lets just say very long ago
Brian
That material has a 400 pound rating, as far as I know. Really nice to work with and has a pretty good hand feel. I used it for a similar bridge, but I used tubular polyester rails and I believe Griz...
You may be overthinking this part of the build.
Guterman Mara 70 is more or less the go to thread for most "hanging" projects and that will work on pretty much any machine. Personally, I have...
Likely a good idea to include the type of hammock you are using and quilt dimensions. Maybe a pic of your quilt installation, otherwise you will be getting a lot of guesses.
Yup, show up, talk and if something seems to click for you, that's a path to follow.
That is assuming you make it through the initiation rituals muhahaha
Nice, hoping the mods make me warm and toasty
I just did up a couple of quilts and changed up my process a bit. I don't have a lot of space either and this process saved me a lot of time and made construction both easier and more accurate (IMO),...
I believe RSBTR has a section/article about "gluing" reinforcements on instead of stitching, said to be better ... maybe look that up, pretty sure it is on their website.
Brian
Edit: Found it...
Coming in Thursday .... let me know if we need something ported in ... depending on size I can get it there. And before you ask Chard, not that huge cast iron pot. Was thinking ham hocks and such.
...
Give the Swift store in South River a call, it is right on your way in and they have better canoes than the Outfitters IMO.

Booked for 28 - 1st
I also have a hankering for North Tea, I am overdue for a waterfall/rapids visit
Rolled hems and flat seams sounds like silnylon or silpoly .... both are light, slippery and as you say a bit tricky to get the hang of sewing and handling.
However, moving to a hammock material...
Don't worry Chris, we got you man ... we can rig up a safety rope, nothing under 200 pound is truly safe from being carried off into the woods, in July
Both look to be solid machines, I reject your hypothesis that you can only keep one .... in all seriousness though, you really can't/shouldn't even try to make a decision like that ... yet.
You...
I thought about adding to my tarp, but that could be a real daunting task to get it to fit right and also get a good seal to the ground. Then you would be stuck in your sleeping area, to cook and...
BTW KWK .... this is crown land, what can the uninitiated expect at the campesite, are we "cat holing"? Are there any markings? Will be my first time outside a "Park"
Brian
There was actually a thread for amsteel suppliers in Canada here https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/162227-Amsteel-in-Canada .... there were other choices that seemed like a better...
Food is almost ready, bought a small bug tent for sitting, just figuring out best way to make it easy to setup .... convoluted way of saying I plan on being there
Brian
I found these guys about 2 years ago, and was steered clear, by a few friends, you are the first person I have heard being positive .... maybe worth trying next time I need something.
Brian
I also have the 4411 (part of the same HD series) and it has done pretty much everything I have asked of it. Having said that, prior to buying it I watched quite a few videos of use and even a tear...
I just use a bit of ShamWow cut into a thin strip, loosen the weave on LashIt, ZingIt or Amsteel and slip it right through the weave. Once you tension it, it is not going anywhere.
Brian
It is 3/16" shock cord, I suspect if that breaks I will have a world of other trouble to deal with, however, putting a safety in there is a good idea, and easy to add
Thanks CM
Just sort of noticed this thread, I just converted my tarp to shock cord at all attachment points.
The ridgeline is LashIt with a prusik at each end ... I doubled a length of 3/16" shock cord...
and just to complicate this a bit more ... we quote 30 degrees for GE and 25 for bridge hammocks .... but those numbers are for a loaded hammock, the angles change when you get in. If I set initially...
Realize these batteries are going to get about 500 charges, so if you take care of them, leave them at ~50% charge when not in use and generally protect them on route ... it is basically a one time...
Sloth ... that not available is likely because you are accessing from Canada, if you have a US zip code, I think it is still there.
I have found using the manufacturers cable doesn't give me any noticeable loss in total run time (I am upconverting 12 V to 24 V).
I can't directly answer your question, but I will give you the...
Just a bit further, I originally bought a 12V power bank for my Respironics, which takes 12 v ... with the recall I got a ResMed which takes 24 V, the ResMed cable takes the 12 v and converts it to...
The battery Slugger posted wasn't been in stock since I read that post, there is a second similar one here https://www.amazon.ca/EASYLONGER-72000mAh-Portable-Generator-Emergency/dp/B0BCJX2QV2 it was...
I order my rods from Quest Outfitters, pick your tube size and you select what ends you want .... for 5/8" tubes for example, here is the list https://www.questoutfitters.com/Tent_Poles_625.htm
I learned a lot from members Youtube channel ... JellyFish is a good starting point to learn
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCis_G8K3XHk0hyKBcdsckZw/videos
I just ordered a few rolls of this line https://go-outfitters.com/products/go-line-ultralight-cordage-for-tarp-ridgelines-guy-lines-everyday-carry
Looks pretty good, but i haven't actually taken...
Sorry you won't make it Dale, but isn't MIL visiting a reason "TO GO" as opposed to "Not to GO" ???? (lol)
TYVM BWs .... nothing beats in person intel, it was appraciated
Brian
KWK ... seems we have almost identical arrival plans, hopefully we hook up for the paddle in
Still leaning to Rain/Sawyer ... or hoping, but not quite ready to give up on that
Thanks for the intel and update Jamie ... I am still optimistic (or stubborn) about Rain lake
Brian
Last time I was early into the Rain lake access, there was a beaver dam, on the right a ways in, that overflows the road. Splashing was exciting, but the road was fine
Brian
Had to discuss doing the portage with the better half, she agreed a short easy one is in scope for me (read that as I put her through hell with the last debacle, but she agreed I am ready for short...
Was thinking the same time frame KWK, get in before the weekend rush ... I will likely stick with base camping for first time back ... if I did another loaded portage first time out, my wife would...
I found the series by JellyFish really helpful, you can find her channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCis_G8K3XHk0hyKBcdsckZw/videos
