Ion is a great fabric for a first time quilt project because it is a 20 denier fabric, making it a little easier to sew. If you're making a summer quilt sewn through construction is a good option.

I make quilts down to minus 40. Lots of downy goodness at www.locolibregear.com

Best water in the country. The whole reason for the pine barrens.

Used to be a problem years ago, particularly with duck down. The smell comes from the detergent the down processor used to wash the down. It's the same stuff they wash dogs with, hence the wet dog...
It's hard to say by the picture. Duck down (and some goose down) can have light and dark feathers, and even have a gray tone to it. The higher fill power down is generally more white with less or no...
No, nothing planned for Memorial Day. Sorry.
Both 90 and 15d are 15 denier materials. Same weight, different maker.
I only use goose down. Nothing wrong with duck, but I've never found a reliable supplier of high fill power duck.

The argon 67 will save about 1/2 ounce per side, but the 90 is slightly more wind resistant. Argon 67 will be slightly more compressible, but on a bridge uq that's not as much of an issue bc the...
Before I get into the big news I just wanted to update everyone about my health. I won't get into the ugly details of last December, except to say I'm grateful to be here. Five months later I can...
My suggestion would be an underquilt protector. That will help keep precipitation off your underquilt.
A waterproof shell on your insulation is asking for trouble. A number of guys over at...

Our store is closed right now as we recover and try to get caught up, but our Dragons Breath tq allows you to shift down vertically depending on where you want more warmth. ...
Thank you everyone for all of your prayers and support. I am home from the hospital, but have quite the road of recovery ahead of me. I'm currently on oxygen and weak, but I know given enough time we...
I booked site 1 a few years ago, and we managed to hang 3 hammocks there.

The jungle Pepper is made for the clark, so it might work, but the ridge reaper is a bridge quilt which I dont feel will work well on a gathered end due to the way its cut.

If you add in Roaring Plains/southern sods you could get a pretty decent sized loop. The problem is there are less than 50 miles of trail total in the northern sods and roaring plains adds another 17...
Welcome from south Jersey!
Greetings from south jersey. You just missed the mahha hang at caledonia, but hopefully there will be another in the fall.

That's not true. I ship from new Jersey (just outside Philadelphia) and the further west I go the higher the rate with usps. Alaska and Hawaii are even higher. And forget it if the box has a side...
Awesome! Love Caledonia.

Sounds like you might have it figured out. Looking forward to hearing how you do after making adjustments. Especially important not to compress the down.

Nice videos. I did the same trip two years ago. Nice peaceful place to hang out. Unfortunately I left my Esee 4 up the hill behind the lean to.

Not sure why you would think we have some sort of difference - I buy quite a bit of fabric from Dutch and we are friends.

I finally got a chance today to test fit the Ridge Reaper uq to the Dutchware Banyan and I'm happy to say it's a perfect fit. Just clip it and that's...

Hey Waddy, glad you're lovin' your new quilt! We were going for a foolproof, fiddle free fit, and I'm very happy with how the design works.
Basically same info as this post. Apparently kitsapcowboy has some sort of debilitating health issue that is bad enough that he cant even use a keyboard. He is aware of the mentions for him at HF...

It's a tq, and I used it for close to a year before loaning it out. If I didnt tell you it was synthetic you wouldn't know. It is less compressible than down, but more compressible than climashield....
Here's the prototype of the Dragons Breath that we made in 2018 before the Up! insulation first became available.

One other thing you can try is attaching shock cord in the center of the quilt sides and looping that over your ridgeline. That will lift the middle of the quilt.

Try narrowing the width by moving the suspension inward before you do any surgery. If you attach your primary at say 50" and it works then you know you have a width problem. I dont do quilts wider...
