Ok. Thanks.

I didn't see this specifically listed in the allowable items to list...
I have a 1955 Singer 201-2 that belonged to my MIL. Knowing there are quite a few people here that have an affinity for...
When I started doing this, I was so apprehensive about my abilities to produce something that would stay together. I had no experience with a sewing machine aside from what I did back in Jr High in...
Aside from the few demos out there that were never returned... You have the only hammock that was produced and sold!
Hows it holding up?
Thanks.
Deal has been hammered out with Junebug.
Pics. The last picture is 2 bridge hammock bodies. Prototypes single layer grey Argon I believe. Not completely finished but once completed would be fully functional. The first picture is some of the...
No nets. I am indifferent on whether this material is used or another. I'm not sure if there would be enough length on some of the fabric to pull off a double layer gathered end.

Some simple, double layer double hammocks. No need for any rope or strap work, just the bodies.
Well, suffice it to say this has gone by the wayside. My MIL passed Oct 1, 2015. We finally got our house sold back in Feb and have a pending offer that came in last week on her house. That is the...
Im going to have to retake all the pictures, they are to large. But heres the tub full of fabric...

Howdy all. I have a generous amount of fabric and misc other supplies that I will not be using. Most of it is I believe 1.6 ripstop from Scott at Backwoods Daydreamer. I do not know exactly how much...
Thanks everyone.
Its been very overwhelming here over the last 9 months.
We have moved. Moved my wifes mother in with us. She has had major surgery to remove a sarcoma tumor only to have it return in her calf and...
I added .5 inches for a seam. I just sewed the edges together close to the cut ends and then covered the seam with bias tape. I have one finished I'll take a picture of this evening.
We have been very busy here. We moved my MIL into our already to small house during her radiation treatments. She made it through surgery but still has a long road ahead of her. We will also be...
What is your shoulder width?
Double layer of either the argon or hyper d would work.
In the interest is transparency.... and to prevent having to type this over and over....
My MIL has just started radiation treatment for Sarcoma that has manifested in her right thigh and wrapped...
Yep, pronounced Mackinaw.
Thanks Brian.
I'll supply the spreaders for each individual hammock.
But to answer your question, I'll be using an 80% ratio for spreader length most of the time. I may bump up to 85%...
Absolutely. [emoji1]
Absolutely. Several of the pictured examples are doubles. Triple layer?
Thanks everyone.
Thanks to Red for reminding me. I am going to try to make it but it will more than likely just be a day trip. Family needs right now wont allow an overnight.
I still have the shirt from 2010.... Hard to believe its been that long.
Ill be honest... I need to get away. Perhaps I can make it down for a day. But an overnight is out of the question right...
I guess I shouldn't discriminate... You dont have to be big to get a bridge hammock....
Thanks Gunner.
Kyle, hopefully this means more business for you. I just remembered you have the Hyper D in 1.0....
Thanks... I think it will work out well.
I dont think you can "friend" businesses. You can only like them. Im not very FB savvy either...
After a bit of deliberation I have decided to make this a part time venture. Being a larger than average individual, 6'4, 275#, I could not get very comfortable in the bridge hammocks that are...
The taper is important to the integrity of a splice. In the instance of a shackle, though, it's just to reduce the diameter of the cord to make the bury easier. Ideally, you'll want to grab the...
Looks good.
I have an ACT Lite 40+10 thats never really been used. Ive used it a couple times just to pack clothes in for road trips. Never been on the trail or camping. Its a little dusty and whatnot from...
Just about any of the 1.6 or 1.9 ripstop will work. I'm partial to the Argon 1.6 or Hyper D 1.6, both support me in a single layer bridge and I'm back up to 275.
Pm inbound....
Looks good jrs... Im a big fan of orange too.
I ended up going with a sewn on end cap because I want to retain the ability to add a zippered bug net. So I have been making templates as I come...
I agree with gem, for $10 you've got nothing to lose.
Ok, good news.
Are you in need of a bug net or just the hammock?
Yes, 3 to 4 wraps is sufficient for tarp lines. You can also make the main line from 2.2 and the prussic from 1.75 to increase biteability. But with tarp lines, you want some slip safety built in.

I contemplated it for a while thinking I'd be ok with the water resistance. But I just don't want to chance it. Sounds like a neat watch though and that's my only hangup.
I understand.
I raced Cross Country back in my hayday. With some trials riding thrown in during the down time. I certainly miss it, my knees dont, though.
I measure 6'4 and was up to 275. The double layer RR held me just fine and was comfortable. No issues with the fabric. Larger folk may find the middle of the hammock a tad narrow, at least I did. One...
I am roughly the same dimensions, 6'4 and hover between 250 and 275. I think youd be surprised what a single layer would feel like. I know first hand a single layer in a bridge supports me.
And a...
Looks good. I so want to make a gathered end out of some of the argon I have, but I just can't get as comfortable in a gathered end.
If you don't mind answering, what do you weigh?
Alright. The offer stands if you ever change your mind.
offer rescinded. I need a waterproof watch.
Early person too.
How amenable are you to increasing the length? I have 2 hammock bodies here that take a 43" spreader bar (I just have to put finishing touches on them). But that also means the...
And your stand is 12 feet long, right?
Trail, do you have the ability to add hanging points to your current stand?
The eye splice for class 1 ropes (olefin, polyester, or nylon) is shorter than for class 2 (dyneema, vectran, technora and zylon) by 1 fid. So it would be 2 fids for a lock stitched eye splice in...
